Abstract

This research explores the characteristics and comfort of climate in nature-based tourism areas in Ancol Eco-Park (EPA) (3masl), Bogor Botanical Gardens (KRB)(260 masl) and Cibodas Botanical Gardens (KRC) (1340 masl). Climate characteristics use the Schmidt-Ferguson and Koppen classifications. Calculation of climate comfort scores using TCI and HCI methods and modifying the thermal aspects. In addition to surveys with questionnaires, measurements of temperature, humidity and wind speed were carried out in all three regions simultaneously. Climate classification according to Schmidt-Ferguson obtained by KRB is type A climate, EPA and KRC are type C climate. Classification according to Koppen, the three regions include the climate of the tropical rainforest namely EPA (Am), KRB and KRC (Af). The vegetation component dominates the three tourist areas with a percentage of over 60% of the tourist areas. The climate comfort index based on calculations results in a comfortable KRC area throughout the year while EPA and KRB are comfortable in the dry season. Comparison of comfort index based on calculations with visitor perceptions results in thermal aspects for the tropics needing to be modified. From 12:00-12:59 WIB to 13:00-13:59 WIB, the most uncomfortable hours of the day. Temperature intervals with comfortable categories are 25.2°C - 29.0°C or effective temperatures between 20.5°C - 24.6°C.

Abstract

Grass can be said to be one of the most successful land plants and is found in all types of growing sites and a variety of circumstances. The Poaceae family is the fourth largest family of flowering plants in the world and there are around 11,000 species with 800 genera. A large diversity of species characterizes a stable community. The term swamp is generally closely related to the conditions of standing water, tidal overflows, floods, and mud. This study aims to identify and find out the diversity index (H') of the Poaceae family in the swamp area of Sungai Lumbah village, Barito Kuala district. The steps of this research are determining the location of the study, observing and identifying species, counting the number of clumps per species at each sample point, tabulating data to obtain the diversity index (H '), measuring environmental parameters. Based on observations, 14 species of the Poaceae family were found, namely Bambusa sp., Brachiaria mutica, Digitaria longiflora, Eleusine indica, Eragrostis unioloides, Imperata cylindrica, Ischaemum muticum, Oryza sativa, Panicum paludosum, Panicum repens, Paspalum commersonii, Paspalum conjugatum, Phragmites vallatoria, and Saccharum officinarum. The Poaceae family diversity index in the swampy area of Sungai Lumbah village is moderate (H' = 2.49).

Abstract

Flood events in Kaligayam Village occur due to rainwater and overflowing rivers trapped in sloping residential areas. Research on the quality of houses in the face of flooding, by grouping based on the shape of the roof, has not been widely carried out, especially in this research area. The use of GIS to analyze the condition of a house in an emergency situation can still be developed to get more detailed results. The population in this study was the house building unit, and the sampling method uses proportional techniques that were randomly selected. The sample of grouping is based on the roof shape of the house that was acquired with Quickbird image interpretation with 0.6 meter spatial resolution. The results of the acquisition of high-rise building data were built with supporting and validated data through field surveys. The database that is processed using GIS to produce data on classes of house buildings in watching flood data on physical conditions, support, and age of the house building. Inventory of all housebuilding parameter data produces a map of the quality of the house building against flooding. In each form of the roof, the building of the house has a variety of different levels of quality in the face of the danger of flooding. The level of quality of the house becomes five levels (very high, high, medium, low, and very low). The type of roof of the village becomes the type of building that has the best quality which is the type of house building with the highest resilience.

Abstract

The chemical properties of Podsolic Red-Yellow soil have pH is very acidic to slightly acidic, low to moderate percentage of C-organic, low to moderate P, and low status of K, Ca, Mg, Na, and other saturation of bases. Also, the physical characteristics of the Red-Yellow Podsolic soil show a distinctive characteristic, as bulk density soil index of 1.30 - 1.50 g.cm-3, with low water absorption. The chemical and physical properties are bad enough to make Red-Yellow Podsolic soil have a low ability to provide macronutrients needed by plants. Organic matter is proven to be able to control nutrient availability in mineral soils. The potentials for organic material that has been completely decomposed is crumb rubber solid waste. The use of crumb rubber solid waste material as organic material is expected to be able to influence the availability of macronutrients and improve the physical characteristics of the Podsolic Red-Yellow soil. This study aims to find differences in the availability of NH4+ NO3-, H2PO4-, K-exchangeable, C-organic and to compare the treatments that produce the best index of soil bulk density, increase the percentage of water content, and determine the soil temperature of Red-Yellow Podsolic with the application of crumb rubber solid waste with difference level, statistical test with through the index of mean difference Tukey’s test on level α 5%. In this research it was concluded that the application of crumb rubber solid waste could increase soil pH, provide levels of NH4+, NO3-, H2PO4, K-exchangeable, C-organic and reduce soil bulk density index, increase water content and soil temperature compared to not using crumb rubber solid waste. PCr3 treatment showed the highest yield at pH, NH4+, H2PO4, C-organic and increased water content, but it was not significantly different than PCr2 treatment, whereas PCr2 was significantly different from PCr3 in providing NO3-, K-exchangeable.
