Abstract

This study aims to analyse sexism in science education at two Islamic schools in the specialised area of Yogyakarta, namely in MTs Assalafiyyah Mlangi Sleman and Ali Maksum Krapyak Bantul. This study uses an ethnographic approach with data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and surveys. The results showed that science was partial to boys due to gender giving birth to sexism in science education. Discrimination based on sex is not a good thing and is contrary to scientific ethics, namely science for all genders. However, the fact this sexism behaviour also spreads in all lines of people's lives. Without realising the difference in giving and treatment of girls and boys in science is considered as something healthy and so it is. So, to minimise such conditions, we need synergy between all elements of government, school principals, teachers, parents, and society, that girls have the right to master science and technology the same as boys.

Abstract

Technological progress will be in line with the development of science. Innovation was created to provide positive benefits and convenience for human life. This study aims to see the public acceptance of the use of online financing applications called P2P Lending. The approach is made by using the Technology Acceptance Model Theory with Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that all constructs consisting of PEoU, PU, Attitude, Behavior Intention to Use and Actual System Use have a significant effect (α 0.05). The conclusion tells us that convenience will create a positive user experience (useful) so that it has an impact on the attitude of using the P2P lending platform. A continuous attitude will form habits, which will eventually reach a high frequency of use (addiction) and create user satisfaction. At the level of user satisfaction, this means that acceptance from P2P Lending is welcomed and enthusiastic for millennials and has the potential to threaten traditional microfinance (disruptive) like BMT.

Abstract

Abdullah Thufail Saputra, a Pakistani-Javanese descendant, was one of the most influential figures in the spread of puritan da'wah in Solo in the 1970s and 1990s. He founded the Majlis Tafsir Al-Qur'an, which is now the largest and most massive Islamic organization in Solo. This study uses a qualitative approach. This study is complemented by essential elements such as observations, as well as in-depth interviews with some of Thufail's closest people. This study also examines some of the necessary documents, especially Thufail era brochures, MTA study recordings, and other documents. This article tries to explore Abdullah Thufail's intellectual journey, starting from his traditional educational background, changing his outlook from a traditional person to later becoming a Salafi-puritan, his missionary struggle, and how he founded and developed the MTA. This paper also discusses the struggle of MTA in accepting the sole principle of Pancasila and how MTA subsequently changed orientation after joining the New Order circle in 1984. The author also argues that the doctrine of zakat and jihad, which Thufail interpreted, became the central pillar for further MTA da'wah.

Abstract

The development of Sharia Banking in Indonesia has increased quite well, both from Assets, Third Party Funds (DPK), and Distributed Financing (PYD). Developments are caused by joint efforts to develop Islamic Banking in Indonesia. This can be seen from the commitment of the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) in guarding from the side of the availability of fatwa. One example of his fatwa is the DSN-MUI Fatwa NO: 101 / DSN-MUI / X / 2016 Tentang 101-Akad Al-Ijarah Al-Maushufah Fi Al-Dzimmah. But in practice, the contract used in Islamic Banking is still dominated by murabahah contracts. So the researcher feels it is important to examine how the role and implementation of the contract in products and services in Islamic banking. The researcher also discussed how the fiqh study of muamalah was about the al-Ijarah al-Maushufah Fi al-Dzimmah contract.

Abstract

Islamic mutual funds as one of the financial investment products in Indonesia experienced rapid development in the last 5 years. Several studies have shown that the performance of a financial investment product is influenced by the macroeconomic conditions of a country. The purpose of this study is to determine the causality relationship and response of the performance of Islamic mutual funds in Indonesia when macroeconomic variables are simulated in an unstable state with an analytical approach using the Vector Error Correction Model (VECM). Observations in this study were made monthly from 2015-2019. The dependent variable in this study is the Net Asset Value (NAV) of Sharia Mutual Funds as a reference to the performance of Sharia Mutual Funds in Indonesia, while the macroeconomic variable as an independent variable consists of the money supply, inflation, central bank interest rates, the rupiah exchange rate, and stock indexes sharia in Indonesia. The results of this study note that simultaneous macroeconomic variables in Indonesia affect the performance of Sharia Mutual Funds in Indonesia.

Abstract

Transformation on the women role can be considered as the process of developing the mankind civilization. In the past, the transformation of women had been more by the economic motive. Along with the turn of the century, the women role has not only been dominated by the economy-related motive and domain but has expanded to the domains that used to be occupied by men. As a result, such role transformation has brought certain impacts to the actors. With reference to the statement, the high figure of divorce law suit has been suspected as one of the impacts caused by the transformation. Therefore, through the review several efforts will be pursued in order to identify why, on the one hand, women have crippled the family resilience and, on the other hand, women have strengthened the family resilience. The results of the review show that the transformation on the women role have resulted in two different conditions within the family resilience. The vulnerability and the strength of the family resilience might at least be categorized into three dimensions namely the dimension of physical resilience, the dimension of social resilience, and the dimension of psychological resilience. In terms of physical resilience, both the vulnerable family and the strong family have relatively met their fundamental needs. On the contrary, there are differences in the other two dimensions namely the social resilience and the psychological resilience. In terms of social resilience, the vulnerable family and the strong family has displayed different quality on the aspects of conflict management, effective communication, and religious values. Similarly, in terms of psychological resilience the vulnerable family and the strong family has also displayed different quality on the aspects of positive self-concept, right and responsibility fulfilment satisfaction, family harmony maintenance, mutual respect and self-esteem, and compassion. The different quality on the dimension of social resilience and the dimension of psychological quality has resulted in the different end of the family life.

Abstract

This article examines the origin of the political consciousness of Muhammadiyah. Thus, the article aims to investigate the origin of the political consciousness of Muhammadiyah to be a reference for Muhammadiyah’s elites, functionaries, cadres, and members in the way of thinking and behaving, mainly in the context of political affairs. Methodologically, this article is a qualitative research by applying two techniques in data-gathering: documentary and interview. The finding demonstrates that the origin of political consciousness of Muhammadiyah can be traced back into a fourfold thing: the influence of the Islamic reformist idea mainly coming from the middle east, the awareness of liberation from backwardness, the awareness of liberation from colonization, and the awareness of liberation from the Christian penetration.
