Abstract

Abstract Mathematics understanding of students is not only about understanding the material but how students can use the knowledge they already have to apply in everyday life. The ability of students to take advantage of the role of mathematics in problems that occur in real life is called mathematical literacy. One of the materials that include solving mathematical problems and the mathematical literacy process of students at the junior high school level is the Two-Variable Linear Equation System (SPLDV). In solving SPLDV problems, students need problem-solving, reasoning, and communication skills. Many aspects can influence students in solving problems, including the ability of students' intelligence in facing a difficulty called Adversity Quotient. The purpose of this study is to describe the mathematical literacy of students in the quitter, camper, and climber categories in solving the problem of a two-variable system of linear equations. This research is qualitative descriptive research with a case study approach. Data collection techniques were carried out by giving SPLDV problem-solving tests and task-based interviews. From the results of solving the questions, 29 junior high school students in Paciran, the researchers chose 1 student from each category of a quitter, camper, and climber who had more complete and systematic answers than the other students. The results showed that there were differences in problem-solving of the three subjects in the components of formulating, interpreting, and applying. Keywords: mathematical literacy, two variable linear equation system, adversity quotient Abstrak Pemahaman matematika peserta didik tidak hanya tentang pemahaman materi saja tetapi bagaimana peserta didik mampu menggunakan pengetahuan yang sudah mereka miliki untuk diterapkan dalam kehidupan sehari- hari. Adapun kemampuan peserta didik dalam memanfaatkan peran matematika pada permasalahan yang terjadi di kehidupan nyata disebut disebut literasi matematis. Salah satu materi yang mencakup pemecahan masalah matematika dan proses literasi matematis peserta didik di tingkat SMP yaitu Sistem Persamaan Linier Dua Variabel (SPLDV). Dalam menyelesaikan masalah SPLDV peserta didik membutuhkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah, penalaran, dan komunikasi. Banyak aspek yang dapat mempengaruhi peserta didik dalam menyelesaikan masalah, antara lain kemampuan kecerdasan peserta didik dalam menghadap suatu kesulitan yang disebut Adversity Quotient. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu mendeskripsikan literasi matematis siswa kategori quitter, camper, dan climber dalam memecahkan masalah sistem persamaan linier dua variabel. Penelitian ini adalah penelitian deskriptif kualitatif dengan pendekatan studi kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan pemberian tes pemecahan masalah SPLDV serta wawancara berbasis tugas. Dari hasil penyelesaian soal, 29 peserta didik SMP di Paciran, peneliti memilih 1 peserta didik dari masing-masing kategori quitter, camper dan climber yang memiliki jawaban yang lebih lengkap dan sistematis dibanding dengan peserta didik lainnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan dalam memecahkan masalah dari ketiga subjek dalam komponen merumuskan, menafsirkan dan menerapkan. Abstract

This study aims to determine the students’ difficulties in online learning. Online learning is one solution offered by several parties such as the government, universities, and teachers. However, this has not been fully able to help students understand the statistics well. This study investigates students’ difficulties in terms of topics, learning processes, and assignments. The students have taken statistics courses for one semester. The data collection techniques with open questionnaires via google Forms and online interviews. The number of participants for open questionnaires was 25 students and 6 students were taken to be interviewed. Based on the questionnaires and interviews conducted with students, the results of the study are that students still have difficulty in understanding the material itself because of complicated calculations, complicated formulas, and Unrealistic. While the difficulties of students in online learning are limited time, network problems, explanations and examples of questions are not written in detail in online learning, the strategies used in online learning make some students negligent in learning, and the number of online meetings is still lacking, online learning can be helpful but not maximized. Moreover, students’ difficulties with assignments such as the formula are very much, the book has several errors, students do not understand the stages in solving problems, difficulty in determining the symbols used in the story problem, difficulty in calculating it, difficulty in imagining the application of the formula into real life. The recommendation from this study is the statistics teacher can choose the appropriate learning model for statistics courses. Keywords: Students’ Difficulties, Statistics Learning, Online Learning

Abstract

Abstract Problem-solving ability is one of the mathematical abilities of the 21st century. This study aims to describe the mathematical problem-solving ability of junior high school students based on the category of mathematical early ability using a praxeological model. Praxeology consists of praxis blocks consisting of technique and type of task components and logos blocks consisting of theory and technology components. The praxeological model depicts seraphically from practice and knowledge. This research focuses on the praxis block, namely technique. This is qualitative research with a case study design involving 5 students each with high, medium, and low initial mathematics abilities. The results of the praxeology analysis showed that students with high and moderate early mathematics ability technique components in the epistemological model reference, although in some subcomponents there were errors. In the high category, the components of the techniques used were more diverse compared to students in the medium class. Whereas in students with low categories, the technique component on the epistemology model reference did not appear .Keywords: mathematical early ability, mathematical problem-solving ability, praxeology. Abstrak Kemampuan pemecahan masalah merupakan salah satu kemampuan matematika abad 21. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika siswa SMP berdasarkan kategori kemampuan awal matematika menggunakan model prakseologi. Prakseologi terdiri dari blok praxis yang terdiri dari komponen technique dan type of task serta blok logos yang terdiri dari komponen theory dan technology. Model prakseologi mengggambarkan secara spresifik dari praktik dan pengetahuan. Penelitian ini berfokus pada blok praxis yaitu technique. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif dengan desain studi kasus yang melibatkan masing-masing 5 siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematika tinggi, sedang, dan rendah. Hasil penelitian berdasarkan analisis prakseologi menunjukkan bahwa siswa dengan kemampuan awal matematika tinggi dan sedang memenuhi komponen teknik dalam referensi model epistemology, meski pada beberapa subkomponen terdapat kesalahan. Pada kategori kemampuan tinggi, komponen teknik yang digunakan lebih beragam dibandingkan dengan siswa pada kategori kemampuan sedang. Sedangkan pada siswa dengan kategrori kemampuan rendah, komponen teknik pada referensi model epistemologi tidak muncul. Kata Kunci: kemampuan awal matematika, kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematika, model prakseologi.

Abstract

Abstract Problem solving skills are very important for learning mathematics. Solving mathematical problems requires strategies that involve cognitive processes in understanding the problem. The purpose of this study is a form of description of students' abilities in solving problem solving on SPLDV material in terms of cognitive style. This type of research is a qualitative descriptive research using a written test and question and answer method. The subjects used in this research were VIII-F students of SMP PGRI 1 Buduran with 2 FD students and 2 FI students. The instruments used include the GEFT test (Group Embedded Figures Test), problem-solving question sheets and interview guidelines. Information analysis includes data reduction, presentation of information and drawing conclusions. The results of the study showed that FD subjects were able to read problems, mastered oral statements from cases and had not been able to replace them with mathematical words, received more detailed information, were unable to expand the results of problem solving and often did not get the right results. On the other hand, FI subjects are able to read problems, master verbal statements from cases and convert them into mathematical words, are more analytical in receiving information, work with their own ideas, can expand the results of problem solving and obtain precise results. The conclusion of this research is that individual FDs are quite capable of fulfilling Newman's problem indicators. On the other hand, FI individuals are able to fulfill Newman's indicators. Keywords: Mathematical problem solving, Field Dependent, Field Independent. Abstrak Keterampilan pemecahan masalah sangatlah penting untuk pembelajaran matematika. Memecahkan masalah matematika membutuhkan strategi yang melibatkan proses kognitif dalam memahami masalah. Tujuan dari penelitian ini merupakan bentuk deskripsi dari kemampuan siswa dalam menyelesaikan pemecahan permasalahan pada materi SPLDV ditinjau dari gaya kognitif. Jenis riset ini merupakan riset deskriptif kualitatif dengan memakai metode uji tulis serta tanya jawab. Subjek yang dipakai pada riset ini merupakan siswa VIII- F SMP PGRI 1 Buduran dengan 2 siswa FD serta 2 siswa FI. Instrument yang dipergunakan mencakup uji GEFT (Group Embedded Figures Test), lembar pertanyaan pemecahan masalah serta pedoman wawancara. Analisa informasi mencakup reduksi data, penyajian informasi serta penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil studi membuktikan subjek FD mampu membaca permasalahan, menguasai statment lisan dari kasus serta belum sanggup mengganti dengan bentuk perkataan matematika, menerima informasi lebih garis besar, tidak sanggup meluaskan hasil penyelesaian permasalahan serta kerap tidak memperoleh hasil yang tepat. Sebaliknya subjek FI mampu membaca permasalahan, menguasai statment lisan dari kasus serta mengubahnya ke wujud perkataan matematika, lebih analitis dalam menerima informasi, bertugas dengan idenya sendiri, bisa meluaskan hasil penyelesaian permasalahan serta memperoleh hasil yang tepat. Simpulan dari riset ini ialah individu FD cukup mampu penuhi indikator permasalahan Newman. Sebaliknya individu FI mampu penuhi indicator Newman. Abstract

From several studies, it was found that many students still had difficulties in three-dimensional geometry subject matter. In addition, students also have difficulty understanding abstract mathematical concepts, especially in three-dimensional materials. So the purpose of this study is to produce a flipbook-assisted learning media for mathematics based on problem-based learning that facilitates students 4C abilities in terms of validity and practicality. By this PBL learning approach students are expected to be able to think critically, have problem solving skills and getting knowledge about the essence of three-dimensional materials. This Flipbook-assisted media has an attractive design, equipped with learning videos and students can easily access the materials only through a link. This type of research is development research using the ADDIE’S model. The research instrument consisted of an observation sheet, a validation sheet and a student response questionnaire. The subjects of this study were 30 students of class XI MIPA-1 SMA Assa'adah Bungah Gresik. The validation results from media experts obtained an average value of 3.63 so that the media was said to be very valid and the validation results from material experts obtained an average value of 3.79 so that the media in the criteria were very valid. Then the result of the students respons questionnaire obtained an average of 81.33% with very practical criteria. So, based on the result of the study, it was found that the flipbook-assisted learning media based on problem-based learning that facilitates students 4C abilities is very valid, very practical and feasible to use. Abstract

The concept of axiology in the philosophy of science, namely the implementation of knowledge that has been learned from mathematics, turns out to have enormous benefits for everyone, especially in efforts to solve cases related to real life which are applied in the form of mathematical story problems through the PBL model. The purpose of this study was to prove: (1) students' ability to solve word problems based on learning styles; (2) students' ability to solve word problems between those implementing the conventional model and the PBL model; (3) the effect of interaction between learning models and learning styles on students' ability to solve word problems. This research is based on quantitative with experimental type. This experiment was conducted by the same teacher on a system of three variable linear equations, 90 minute sessions twice a week for three weeks. Class X-1 and class X-3 as research samples. The data collection method used a 5-item essay test and a learning style questionnaire. Hypothesis testing is processed using Two-Way Anova. The results showed (1) there was a very significant difference in the ability to solve word problems based on students' learning styles (visual, auditory, and kinesthetic); 2) there is a significant difference in the ability to solve word problems between those who apply the conventional model and the PBL model; 3) there is an interaction effect between learning styles and learning models that is significant on the ability to solve word problems in class X SMA Dr.Soetomo Surabaya. Abstract

Recency is a conclusion that is preceded by similar events. Recency is very important for prospective mathematics teacher students because it avoids thinking errors/cognitive biases. This research is a qualitative research that aims to determine the emergence of positive and negative recency in prospective students of mathematics teachers. The research was conducted by providing pictorial problems for prospective mathematics teacher students and based on indicators grouped into positive recency and negative recency. The results of the study indicate that students who experience positive recency occur because of learning experiences and similar events that are believed to be.
