Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis karakteristik massa air di perairan Muara Sugihan berdasarkan parameter oseanografi (arus, suhu dan salinitas) dan mengkaji tipe estuari di perairan Muara Sugihan. Pengambilan data lapangan dilaksanakan pada bulan September 2016 dengan menggunakan metode purposive sampling yang dilakukan pada kondisi menuju pasang dan kondisi menuju surut dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif komperatif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan Karakteristik massa air di Muara Sugihan dipengaruhi oleh kondisi pasang surut. Hal ini dapat dilihat dari adanya perbedaan karakteristik massa air saat menuju pasang maupun saat menuju surut. Saat kondisi menuju pasang kecepatan arus berkisar 0,001 m/s – 0,026 m/s dengan suhu tertinggi 31,75°C dan salinitas 32 psu. Kondisi menuju surut kecepatan arus berkisar 0,001 m/s – 0,033 m/s dengan suhu tertinggi 30,41°C dan salinitas 32 psu. Berdasarkan distribusi salinitasnya Muara Sugihan termasuk kedalam tipe estuari tercampur sempurna (well-mixed estuary).

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low understanding of students' mathematical concepts in the mathematics learning process. The purpose of this study was to find out how the influence of the Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom learning model on mathematical concept understanding, and the influence of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom in terms of academic ability level on the student’s mathematical concept understanding ability in class XII IPA3 SMAN 1 X Koto Tanah Datar Regency. This type of research is a quantitative nonequivalent pretest-posttest experiment. Where the research subjects were students of class XII IPA SMAN 1 X Koto Kab. Tanah Datar for the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 44 students. The instrument used to collect data is in the form of test questions. The results of this study indicate that students have an increase in answering questions. Based on data analysis obtained F(1.42) and p=0.001 <0.05 then H0 is rejected, which means that there is an influence of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom on understanding mathematical concepts of class XII IPA3 students of SMAN 1 X Koto Kab. Tanah Datar. However, the level of students' academic ability did not have a significant effect on understanding mathematical concepts with the application of Peer Teaching Flipped Classroom. It is seen from the analysis of the data obtained p = 0.051> 0.05, then H0 is accepted.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low results of students' mathematics learning. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the window shopping learning model to the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 29 Sijunjung. This type of research is experimental research with a quantitative approach. The research design used was the Post-Test Only Control Group Design. The research population was all students of class VIII at SMP Negeri 29 Sijunjung. The technique used in sampling is simple random sampling. The research sample was class VIII 1 as the experimental class and class VIII 3 as the control class. The research instrument used in this study was in the form of a post-test in the form of a description. Furthermore, testing the hypothesis using the one-sided t test to be precise the right side. The results showed that the class using the window shopping learning model had an average of 64.79 and the class using the conventional learning model had an average of 51.04. The results of the hypothesis test obtained tcount = 2.10 and ttable = 2.00, then tcount ttable so that the hypothesis is accepted. Thus it can be concluded that there is an effect of applying the window shopping learning model to the learning outcomes of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 29 Sijunjung.

Abstract

Salah satu materi dalam matematika yang penting untuk dipelajari oleh siswa adalah aljabar. Konsep aljabar didahului oleh aritmatika, Perkalian merupakan operasi dasar aritmatika utama yang harus dipelajari siswa setelah mempelajari operasi penambahan dan pengurangan. Perkalian merupakan alat hitung utama yang digunakan dalam pembelajaran matematika. Tetapi masih bayak ditemui siswa kesulitan dalam melakukan operasi perkalian sehingga mereka banyak mengalami kesulitan dalam mempelajari topik matematika yang lebih kompleks. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui metode perkalian untuk dua bilangan yang paling digemari oleh siswa kelas VII di SMPN 1 Koto Baru Kabupaten Dharmasraya. Jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian kualitatif dengan cara memberikan tes dan wawancara kepada siswa. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dan pembahasan, dapat disimpulkan bahwa siswa kelas VIIB dalam mengerjakan soal perkalian dominan menggunakan metode perkalian bersusun dengan persentase 46% dan lattice multiplication method dengan persentase 36,7%. Selain itu siswa juga menggunakan metode perkalian lain walaupun tidak sebanyak metode perkalian bersusun dan lattice multiplication method, beberapa metode perkalian tersebut diantaranya japanese multiplication method dengan persentase 9.7%, eygiptian multiplication method dengan persentase 2.7%, Russian multiplication method dengan persentase 3.3%, dan vedic multiplication method dengan persentase 1%. Temuan ini dapat menjadi solusi agar siswa dapat memilih metode perkalian mana yang menurut siswa mudah dan disukai dalam pembelajaran matematika.

Abstract

Selama proses belajar mengajar matematika, siswa juga menghadapi banyak kendala terkadang siswa tahu cara menjawab pertanyaan yang diajukan, namun melakukan kesalahan dalam perhitungan. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui kesalahan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal cerita SPLTV berdasarkan Metode Newman. Penelitian ini menggunakan deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek dalam penelitian diambil secara purposive sampling yang terdiri dari 10 orang siswa SMA. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan soal tes uraian. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa siswa melakukan Reading Error sebanyak 13,40%, Comprehention error sebanyak 21,65%, Transformation error sebanyak 19,59%, Process skill error sebanyak 19,59%, Endcoding error sebanyak 25,77%. Hal ini terjadi karena siswa kurang teliti, tidak mampu membaca soal, tidak memahami masalah, dan tidak mampu melakukan prosedur yang akan digunakan untuk menyelesaikan soal.During the process of teaching and learning mathematics, students also face many obstacles. Sometimes students know how to answer the questions asked, but make mistakes in the calculations. The purpose of this study was to find out students' mistakes in solving SPLTV story problems based on the Newman Method. This research uses descriptive with a qualitative approach. Subjects in the study were taken by purposive sampling consisting of 10 high school students. Data collection techniques using essay test questions. The results showed that students made reading errors of 13.40%, completion errors of 21.65%, transformation errors of 19.59%, process skill errors of 19.59%, endcoding errors of 25.77%. This happens because students are less thorough, unable to read the questions, do not understand the problem, and are unable to carry out the procedures that will be used to solve the problem.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low scores of students in learning mathematics. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of applying the window shopping learning model to the learning outcomes of class VIII students of SMP Negeri 29 Sijunjung. This type of research is experimental research with a quantitative approach. As a result, the class with the window shopping learning model has an average of 61.14 and the class with the conventional learning model has an average of 43.04. The results of testing the hypothesis obtained tcount = 2.3569 and ttable = 1.7056, where tcount > ttable, so the hypothesis is accepted. It can be concluded that the application of the window shopping learning model affects the learning outcomes of Class VIII students of SMP Negeri 29 Sijunjung.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the students’ difficulties in online learning. Online learning is one solution offered by several parties such as the government, universities, and teachers. However, this has not been fully able to help students understand the statistics well. This study investigates students’ difficulties in terms of topics, learning processes, and assignments. The students have taken statistics courses for one semester. The data collection techniques with open questionnaires via google Forms and online interviews. The number of participants for open questionnaires was 25 students and 6 students were taken to be interviewed. Based on the questionnaires and interviews conducted with students, the results of the study are that students still have difficulty in understanding the material itself because of complicated calculations, complicated formulas, and Unrealistic. While the difficulties of students in online learning are limited time, network problems, explanations and examples of questions are not written in detail in online learning, the strategies used in online learning make some students negligent in learning, and the number of online meetings is still lacking, online learning can be helpful but not maximized. Moreover, students’ difficulties with assignments such as the formula are very much, the book has several errors, students do not understand the stages in solving problems, difficulty in determining the symbols used in the story problem, difficulty in calculating it, difficulty in imagining the application of the formula into real life. The recommendation from this study is the statistics teacher can choose the appropriate learning model for statistics courses. Keywords: Students’ Difficulties, Statistics Learning, Online Learning

Abstract

Online learning has become a solution in the field of education lately. Statistics is one of the subjects students must take at the university level. Learning statistics takes work for students. Based on the author's investigation, there are three obstacles to students in online learning: the constraints of students in understanding the material, the online learning process, and the assignment process. The sample in this study is a student with an Indonesian worker background in Taiwan, where they study online at night. Since an appropriate online learning method is needed to achieve student success, this study analyzes three online learning methods: conventional online learning, conventional flipping classes in online learning, and innovative flipped classrooms in online learning. This study investigates the three learning methods' results in differences in gender, job, and age. The results obtained indicate that there are significant differences in student learning outcomes in the three sample groups. Further analysis showed that the innovation of flipped classrooms in online learning significantly differs from the other two learning methods. Based on the type of job, there are differences in student learning outcomes taught in the conventional flipped classroom in online learning. It was also seen in the analysis of combining all student learning outcomes taught with online learning that there were differences in student learning outcomes regarding the job. A household assistant is better than a factory worker because students who work as household assistants have more flexible time to watch videos and repeat them than those who work as factory workers.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the low learning outcomes and learning motivation of grade VIII students of SMPN 1 IV Jurai, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The purpose of this study was to determine the influence of the application of the Teams Games Tournaments learning model on mathematics learning outcomes and motivation of grade VIII students of SMPN 1 IV Jurai, Pesisir Selatan Regency. The type of research used in this study is experimental research with research design is post-test only control group design. The population of this study was all grade VIII students of SMPN 1 IV Jurai, South Coast District. The sampling technique used in this study was random sampling so that class VIII4 was selected as an experiment class with twenty-one students and class VIII1 as a control class with twenty-two students. The instruments used are learning outcomes tests and student learning motivation questionnaires.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh banyaknya siswa yang belum paham dengan konsep matematis sehingga menyebabkan siswa melakukan kesalahan dalam menyelesaikan soal matematika. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui bentuk kesalahan yang dilakukan siswa dalam menyelesaikan soal pemahaman konsep matematis pada siswa kelas XI IPS 2 SMA N 2 Kinali Kab. Pasaman Barat. Metode yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan purposive sampling. Instrumen digunakan untuk mengumpulkan data berupa tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep dan wawancara. Hasil tes dianalisis berdasarkan indikator pemahaman konsep. Soal nomor 1, menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep siswa melakukan kesalahan 44,4%, mengelompokan objek sesuai dengan sifatnya 5,5%, mampu menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur yang tepat 11,1%. Pada soal nomor 2, siswa melakukan kesalahan pada indikator menyatakan ulang sebuah konsep 100%, mengelompokan objek sesuai dengan sifat 38,8%, mampu menggunakan, memanfaatkan, dan memilih prosedur yang tepat 83,3%, mengaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari 94,4%. Dan soal nomor 3, siswa melakukan kesalahan pada indikator menyatakan ulang konsep 100%, mengelompokkan objek sesuai sifat 33,3%, memberikan contoh dan non contoh dari suatu konsep 22,2%, menyajikan konsep dalam bentuk representasi matematis 33,3%, mengembangkan syarat cukup dan syarat perlu dari suatu konsep 33,3%, mengaplikasikan dalam kehidupan sehari-hari 66,6%.
