al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is published by Association of Secondment Lecturers (Asosiasi Dosen DPK) UIN Sunan Gunung Djati Bandung Indonesia. Focus of al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies is on publishing original empirical research articles and theoretical reviews of Islamic Studies, it covers various issues on the Islamic studies within such number of fields as Islamic Education, Islamic thought, Islamic law, political Islam, and Islamic economics from social and cultural perspectives and content analysis from al-Qur’an and Hadist.
In other than forementioned field in Islamic Studies, al-Afkar, Journal for Islamic Studies also accepts articles which cover the topic on the cross section between Islam Studies and other scientific field, such as sociology, law, economics, and others.

Research and surveys conducted by the Indonesian Child Protection Commission (KPAI) released 84% of data that students in Indonesia experienced a moral decline. Student behavior such as student brawl, murder, bullying, and drugs can reduce learning outcomes. A comprehensive approach is needed to overcome them, including through the application of noble character habituation. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of the habit of noble morals on student learning outcomes at SMK 1 Palabuhanratu. This research uses descriptive quantitative research methods with Proportionate Stratified Random Sampling. Data collection techniques with observations and questionnaires and analyzed using multiple regression. The results of this study, "Very High" (86.27%), simultaneously have a significant effect on learning outcomes with a correlation of "Strong Enough," partially the noble character of students on parents/teachers/others and their environment significantly influence the results to learn.

Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri kajian tokoh terkemuka yang membahas kajiannya terhadap pendapat M. Syahrur, seorang intelektual muslim yang memiliki dua latar belakang ilmu, yaitu ilmu eksakta dan filsafat bahasa. Dari latar belakang tersebut Syahrur percaya bahwa bunga dapat dipisahkan dari sedekah (termasuk zakat). Penelitian ini menggunakan penelitian pusta (library reseach) Menelusuri ayat yang berkaitan dengan istilah bunga, ia menekankan pendapatnya bahwa wacana riba dibagi dalam tiga kondisi: (1) kelompok ashab al-shadaqah, dilambangkan dengan negatif (-), kelompok ghair ashab shadaqah, dilambangkan dengan positif ( +), dan grup di antara sebagai area nol (0). Dari definisinya, Syahrur mendefinisikan lap adalah pembayaran kembali yang tidak proporsional yang melanggar batas/aturan di atas. Berdasarkan pengertian lap dan ketiga syarat tersebut di atas Syahrur mengusulkan tiga prinsip dasar operasional dalam perbankan syariah sebagai berikut: (1) bank syariah harus ikut membantu fakir miskin dengan zakat, (2) memberikan bunga nol bagi fakir miskin dalam menyalurkan zakat. , dan (3) menggunakan bunga tidak tetap untuk pinjaman jika bunga tidak lebih dari dua kali pada tenggat waktu.

Owning a house is an essential decision in one’s life. With various house financing products offered by financial institutions, products that adhere to the Shariah principles or Shariah-compliant became an alternative for Muslim consumers to avoid being involved in transactions related to usury (riba). This paper aims to provide an overview of the Islamic concepts applied in Islamic home financing products in Malaysia namely Ba’I Bithaman Ajil, Musharakah Mutanaqisah and Tawarruq. This study employs the library research method by examining journal articles, books, resolutions, guidelines and policy documents relating to the matter. This study found out that each concept is truly rooted in the Shariah principles despite some issues regarding Shariah compliance rising around it that differ in degrees from each other. It is also found out that even when applying the Shariah concept in the operation of these concepts, banks cannot yet escape from using interest-based benchmarks in calculating their profit. It is concluded that Islamic banks are exerting a commendable effort in providing Shariah alternatives for home financing, however, this effort needs to be continued to provide a Shariah-compliant home financing that at the same time more affordable to consumers than conventional loans.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemikiran M. Amin Abdullah tentang integrasi-interkoneksi keilmuan khususnya dalam upaya pengembangan Integrasi keilmuan di UIN. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptis analitis. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan bahwa integrasi-interkoneksi keilmuan atau yang disebut dengan “takamul al-ulum wa izdiwaj al-ma’arif” adalah pola keilmuan yang berupaya untuk menghubungkan, mengaitkan, bahkan menyatu padukan antara nalar keagamaan dan sains modern. Berbeda dengan corak integrasi keilmuan yang ada di UIN lainnya, paradigma keilmuan integrasi-interkoneksi ini menggunakan pendekatan multidisiplin, interdisiplin, dan transdisipliner. Dimana antara bidang keilmuan agama dan sains modern diharuskan memiliki hubungan yang bersipat semipermeable, intersubjective testability, dan creative imagination. Oleh karena itu, paradigma keilmuan ini dapat menjadi alternatif bagi pengembangan keilmuan di UIN di seluruh Indonesia.

The purpose of this article is to discuss a study in increasing the activity and learning outcomes of aqidah akhlaq material for commendable moral behavior through a snowball strategy for class VIII B students of MTs Nahdlatul Ulama' Probolinggo district in the odd semester of 2021/2022. Because seeing the reality of initial observations at MTs Nahdlatul Ulama', only a small number were active and learning outcomes were low, the researchers tried to use the right aqidah akhlaq learning strategy, namely the snowball throw method. This research is in the type of CAR which has two, each cycle has four stages. The subject of this research is class VIII B which opens 19 students. Researchers in this study collect data by observation, documentation, and tests. This study uses data analysis techniques for comparison between cycles 1 and 2 with increased activity and learning outcomes of aqidah akhlaq material for commendable akhlaq behavior using the snowball throwing strategy for class VIII B students of MTs Nahdlatul Ulama'. It can be seen that the learning activity data on the percentage of pre-cycle, cycle 1 and 2 increased in every qualification of all aspects. Learning outcomes also increased in students, namely pre-cycle with a completeness value of 31.6%, then cycle 1 with a completeness score of 65% (good enough) and cycle 2, namely 81.84 with a completeness value of 85% (good).

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menelusuri hakikat paradigma ilmu dalam perspektif pohon ilmu. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif di UIN Malang. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa Universitas Islam Negeri Malang menggunakan pohon ilmu sebagai metafora paradigma integrasi keilmuannya. Dengan model tersebut UIN Malang nampak kuat dalam tataran integrasi ontologi keilmuannya. Dengan demikian, maka konsep dan model integrasi yang ditawarkan oleh perguruan tinggi tersebut masih kurang sempurna dari aspek filosofisnya. Sementara, dalam diskursus Islamisasi, metodologi integrasi ilmu di Perguruan Tinggi tersebut masih dikategorikan sebagai Islamisasi ilmu pengetahuan.

This study aims to revisit the priority aspects of the state's interests and protection of the soul from the mashlahah perspective. This is so urgent when recently shocked by the shooting of a member of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) laskar by a member of the Indonesian National Police. The result of this case was the emergence of various controversies from humanitarian activists, human rights, and moderate state defenders. This phenomenon is certainly something that needs to be resolved with a model approach in the Islamic legal discourse, namely the mashlahah concept. The concept of mashlahah is seen as a more adaptive concept in responding to various contemporary problems, including seeing the shooting case of a member of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI) army. This literature-based study found that the shooting of members of the FPI paramilitary apparatus by the police was based on prioritizing the public interest of the state (mashlahah al-'ammah) rather than personal or group interests (mashlahah al-fardhiyyah). Meanwhile, the determination of mashlahah between the interests of the state (public) and private interests (groups) is based on taking less mafsadat.

This research aims to analyze the Islamic education learning model during Covid-19 pandemic at state Junior High Scool. This qualitative approach is done intensively, researchers participate in the field, record carefully, perform analysis, make. The type of research taken is field research that is research that collects data done by obtaining through investigation based on field. Data collection methods use observation, interview and documentation methods. the results showed that the researchers carried out at the State Junior High School 3 Cileungsi, that by giving assignments and the types of assignments used with steps for selecting good and not boring task materials suitable for students, the teacher would easily explain and students would be interested and pay attention and be actively involved in working on group assignments. Learning Islamic Religious Education by using the task method is less effective. The Learning Process of Islamic Religious Education During the Covid 19 Pandemic Period at the State Junior High School 3 Cileungsi was less effective due to the difficulty of learning via online, preventing students from understanding the learning process of Islamic religious education.

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi peran PAI dalam pendidikan karakter adalah membentuk manusia yang berakhlak mulia dan Pendidikan karakter dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk meningkatkan mutu serta kualitas hasil pendidikan dengan membentuk kepribadian yang baik sesuai standar kompetensi lulusan pendidikan. Tidak hanya itu pendidikan karakter pula ditunjukan buat meningkatkan kecerdasan etika ataupun meningkatkan keahlian moral dengan membangun kecerdasan etika, yakni keahlian menguasai tentang yang benar serta yang salah. Metode Penelitian menggunakan studi kepustakaan (library reseach) dengan menghimpun information dari tulisan-tulisan (literasi) yang mempunyai kaitan dengan topik yang dibahas. statistics tersebut peneliti ambil dari dokumentasi yang bentuk buku, jurnal penelitian, dan artikel-artikel yang mendukung. membatasi dan mengawasi generasi muda dengan menanamkan nilai-nilai religius, kekuatan iman dan taqwa, ilmu pengetahuan, akhlakul karimah, tanpa harus tertinggal dalam arus globalisasi dan mampu mempertahankan tradisi ke Islaman dan nilai-nilai yang baik.

Pada dasarnya tujuan pendidikan ialah untuk menghasilkan genarasi manusia yang beriman dan bertaqwa kepada Tuhan Maha Esa. Dalam agama Islam salah satu cara agar menambahnya keimanan dan ketaqwaan kepada Allah Swt adalah dengan cara mempelajari dan menghafal Al-Qur’an. Dari banyaknya berbagai macam metode yang digunakan untuk mempelajari Al-Qur’an, salah satunya ialah metode talaqqi. Metode talaqqi bertujuan untuk mempermudah peserta didik dalam mempelajari dan menghafal Al-Qur’an. Dalam artikel ini akan membahas tentang pengaruh metode talaqqi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menghafal Al-Qur’an. Yang dimana penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui adakah pengaruh metode talaqqi terhadap peningkatkan kemampuan menghafal peserta didik di TPQ Darussalam Cileungsi Bogor. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah: angket (angket), tes tertulis, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Hal ini dibuktikan dari hasil Uji Hipotesis diperoleh hasil dengan Thitung (3,269) > Ttabel (2,101) dan nilai probabilitas sig (0,004) < (0,05). Dari hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa ada pengaruh metode talaqqi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menghafal Al-Qur'an siswa kelas Al-Qur'an TPQ Darussalam Cileungsi Bogor. Pengaruh metode talaqqi terhadap peningkatan kemampuan menghafal Al-Qur'an adalah sebesar 37% dan sisanya sebesar 68% merupakan pengaruh dari variabel lain yang tidak dijadikan variabel dalam penelitian ini. Pengaruh antara kedua variabel tersebut juga dibuktikan dengan nilai koefisien korelasi yang menunjukkan (0,610) atau 61%, hal ini termasuk dalam kategori hubungan kuat.
