Abstract

This article discusses the problem of subject omission conducted by the Governor of DKI Jakarta, Ahok Cahya Purnama. In this writing, the author uses two approaches: the European structural approach and the American structural approach. Ferdinand de Saussure, the first figure from Europe, conducted studies on language with scientific and codified principles, enabling the analysis of active and passive sentences using a systematic method. The Transformational Generative Theory, pioneered by Noam Chomsky as the second figure, was born in 1928 in Pennsylvania, United States. This writing attempts to outline a form of surface structure approach through the analysis of the relationship between elements or Saussure's structuralism, while also using the deep structure approach proposed in Noam Chomsky's Transformational Generative Theory. This is expected to complement Saussure's structuralism approach to enrich the previously used approach and avoid being fixated on a single type of approach. Thus, it can provide a better and more targeted interpretation of ambiguous sentences. Consequently, this article finds that Mr. Ahok has omitted the subject, resulting in ambiguous sentences. The subject in question is the politicians from religious groups who have used Surah Al-Maidah verse 51 as a political tool to win the regional elections.

Abstract

Education is crucial to the growth of the individual as well as the society. In light of this, the government is fully committed to giving the education sector its full attention in the hopes that a well-functioning educational system will produce a future generation of citizens with moral character and the capacity to engage with society on a local, national, and international level. The low quality of education remains a significant issue in madrasah education. Suboptimal learning management is one of the causes of suboptimal curriculum implementation, leading to suboptimal student learning outcomes. This study aims to analyze the implementation of curriculum policy on learning management to achieve student learning outcomes. The research method used in this study is a descriptive analysis method with observation techniques, survey techniques, interview techniques, and documentation study techniques. The data analysis technique used to answer the hypotheses of the study is statistics with path analysis models. The recommendations in this study are as follows: First, for the variable of curriculum policy implementation, there should be proper guidance and good cooperation to ensure effective curriculum policy implementation. Second, for the variable of learning management, a collaborative approach, provision of resources and support, clear communication, and explanation are needed. Third, for the variable of learning outcomes, teachers can implement learning strategies such as group discussions, project-based assignments, case analysis, debates, and others. These strategies should be applied consistently and provide opportunities for students to practice and develop their skills.

Abstract

Communication between family members is an important factor in maintaining family harmony, especially in the context of long distance relationships (LDR) which require more effort to maintain communication and trust between partners. In a Muslim family, good communication not only maintains relationships but also ensures that the rights and obligations stipulated in Islamic law are properly respected. Marriage is an agreement between a man and a woman to live together as one family, including respecting rights and obligations according to applicable laws and regulations. A long distance relationship describes a couple who are physically apart for certain reasons such as work. Research shows that good communication during a LDR can increase the chances of success in a relationship. In Kertasari Village, several couples who live far apart for work reasons experience difficulties in carrying out the rights and obligations of husband and wife. Previous research has examined strategies for maintaining family harmony in LDR countries, as well as the formation of sakinah families in this context. However, detailed explanations of communication in Muslim families have received little attention. Therefore, studying Muslim family discourse in the communication process to fulfill rights and obligations in LDR is a new discovery in Muslim family research.

Abstract

In the study of democracy, E-Government is significant as it functions as a platform to promote e-democracy by promoting people's participation through utilising modern technology such as the Internet. However, it is noted that most of the local government websites are still stagnant and lacking in criteria and features of embracing two-ways communication. This can hinder the process to promote e-democracy in the local government websites. This study uses Marianne Kneuer's framework to examine the impact of e-government on e-democracy in Selangor by using content analysis method. The objectives of this research are to study the progress of e-democracy implementation in the local government websites in Selangor by looking at the features based on the framework proposed by exploring three categories: free and equal access, e-participation, and e-governance. There are four local government websites selected in this study, namely Petaling Jaya, Subang Jaya, Kajang, and Klang local government websites. Although it is noted that the local governments have provided some features related to e-democracy, the features need to be updated and improved from time to time. The challenges to the effectiveness and efficiency of e-government and e-democracy were also highlighted based on the results collected and interviews conducted with the website administrators. Those were namely allocation of budget, feature standardization, regular updates of the websites, unclear division of task, leader’s approach and also public awareness and acceptance. The e-democracy implementation in local government websites has been accepted positively by the local government administrator by improving their websites which are in line with e-democracy features.
