Abstract

This study aims to develop a physical education instructional medium in the form of a board game based on the traditional game Catur Surakarta to strengthen character education and numeracy literacy among elementary school students. The research subjects were fifth and sixth grade students at MIN 1 Pesawaran. In addition, this study also seeks to evaluate the quality of the developed board game in terms of its validity and practicality. The research method refers to the ADDIE development model, which consists of five stages: Analyze, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation. The results of the study indicate that: (1) the board game instructional medium demonstrates a high level of validity, as evidenced by an average score of 0.91 for content feasibility (high category), 0.85 for media feasibility (high category), and 0.70 for game feasibility (valid category); and (2) the practicality based on teacher and student response questionnaires is classified as very practical, with an average score of 96%. Overall, the board game instructional medium based on the traditional game Catur Surakarta is declared valid and practical for use in Physical Education learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

Physical education learning in elementary schools requires an innovative and enjoyable approach to increase students’ affective engagement during the learning process. Net Games learning, particularly pickleball-based activities, has the potential to create active, interactive, and meaningful learning experiences for students. This study aimed to determine the effectiveness of the pickleball-based Net Games learning model on the affective responses of fifth-grade elementary school students. This study employed a quantitative approach using a one-group post-test only design involving 50 fifth-grade elementary school students. The research instrument was an Affective response questionnaire consisting of five indicators: joyful expression, learning satisfaction, voluntary participation, enjoyment, and willingness to repeat learning activities. Instrument validity was evaluated through expert judgment, while reliability testing using Cronbach’s Alpha showed a coefficient of 0.89, indicating high reliability. Data were analysed using descriptive statistics and the One-Sample Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test with the assistance of SPSS version 25. The findings revealed that students’ affective responses were categorised as effective to very effective, with an overall mean score of 3.44. The Wilcoxon test showed a significant result (p < 0.05), indicating that the Net Games learning model effectively improved students’ affective responses. Students demonstrated positive emotional engagement, active participation, and strong motivation to repeat the learning activities. The pickleball-based Net Games learning model was effective in enhancing elementary school students’ affective responses in physical education learning through enjoyable, active, and interactive learning experiences.

Abstract

This study aims to determine: 1) the difference in the influence between the Teaching Style of Practice, the Inclusion teaching style on the learning outcomes of soccer dribbling , 2) the difference in the influence between high and low levels of motivation on the learning outcomes of soccer dribbling, 3) there is an interaction between teaching style and motivation on the learning outcomes of soccer dribbling. This study uses an experimental method with a 2 x 2 factorial design. The research population of students amounted to 175 people and the sample used in this study amounted to 44 people with a purposive sampling technique, consisting of 22 students with high motivation and 22 students with low motivation. The results of the study showed that the results of the pre-test dribbling in soccer games using the Teaching Style of Practice from 22 students who were sampled in this study showed that the results of the pre-test dribbling in soccer games averaged 62.70. The results of the post-test dribbling in soccer games averaged 85.23, resulting in an increase in value of 22.53. Meanwhile, the results of dribbling learning in soccer games using an inclusive teaching style from 22 students sampled in this study showed that the average dribbling pre-test result in soccer games was 62.72. The average dribbling post-test result in soccer games was 82.98, resulting in an increase in value of 20.25.
