Abstract

Abstract This Research intents to know wheather there is relation between emotional  intellegence and study motivation towards the result of studying chemistry sample that is being used is XI th grader of Setia Budi  Abadi Perbaungan High School terms 2013/2024 which consist of 52 students who are separated in to two class.Valid questionnaire is used to determine their emotional intelligences and study motivation. The 14 Questions for emotional intelligence and 13 questions for study motivation.While chemistry student learning outcome data obtained   from chemistry subject teacher.Data has been checked the normality by using liliefors test,for emotional intelligence obtained Lcount = 0,01149, where as for study motivation Lcount= 0,002167,and Ltable= 0,122866,with the result of that  Lcount> Ltable.Which means,the data distributed normally from the result of the hypotesis using multiple corelation test,show that there is positive relation between emotional intelligence and study motivation to chemistry student learning result with enough interpretation.Correlation’s significance is tested with F test at significance level of α= 0,05 with numerator dk 2 and denominator dk 49 show that Ftable= 3,19, while Fcount= 5,536645 (Fcount>F table) which means the relation between emotional  intelligence and study motivation with chemistry student learning result is real andabsolutely relevant statistically (significant). By counting the coefisien of determination gets the big impact of emotional intelligence and study motivation to wards chemistry student learning result is 18,23%. Abstract

Sintesis [Zn2(Oxac)(H2O) 2.5, atau ZOATW2.5, dibuat dari larutan metanol dan air dari Zn5(CO3)2(OH)6 dan dua jenis ligan yaitu 3-amino , 1,2,4-triazol (ATaz) dan asam oksalat (Oxac) pada 453 K selama 12 jam. Zn-oxac-ATaz yang dibuat dalam medan magnet 2T dan 4T menghasilkan struktur kristal baru yang terbentuk sebagai kristal triklinik, sedangkan kristal 0T dan 6T terbentuk sebagai Kristal ortorombik. Morfologi juga berubah menjadi empat persegi panjang dan memanjang dari kristal 4T, bentuk tak beraturan pada kristal 6T namun terbentuk lebih besar jika dibandingkan dengan kristal 0T. Meskipun tidak ada N2 yang teradsorbsi untuk semua kristal karena keberadaan gugus amina dapat menghalangi di dalam pori-pori, namun molekul CO2 dapat teradsorpsi karena interaksi kuat antara molekul NH2 dan CO2. Zn-oxac-Ataz 4T mengadsorbsi molekul CO2 yang signifikan sekitar 110 mg/g yang mengindikasikan kristal 4T disamping membentuk ruang pori yang lebih besar juga menunjukkan interaksi yang kuat antara molekul NH2 dan CO2.Kata kunci: polimer koordinasi berpori, isoterm adsorpsi, medan magnet, morfologi

Abstract

Abstract. This study aims to know: (1) The effect of M3PK and PBL using MS Frontpagemedia to students’ critical thinking ability. (2) The effect of M3PK and PBL using MS Frontpagemedia to students’ learning outcomes. (3) Interaction between M3PK and PBL usingMS Frontpagemediawith critical thinking abilityon effect ofstudents’ learning outcomes.The population in this study is all students in siswa di SMA Negeri 1 Labuhanhaji Barat of the school year 2014/2015. Sampling techniquewas   purposive sampling. The sample in this study consisted of 2 class that are XI-IPA I and XI-IPA 2. XI-IPA I class as experiment class 1 taught with M3PK using Ms Frontpage media. XI-IPA 2 class as experiment class 2 taught with PBL using Ms Frontpage media. The study instrument in the form an objective test of learning outcome and observation sheet of students’ critical thinking ability. The data analysis performedbytheGeneralLinear Models(GLM)Univariate using SPSS 16.0 programe. Theresults showedthat: (1) There are significant effect of M3PK and PBL with usingMs Frontpagemedia on students’ critical thinking ability. (2) There are significant effect of M3PK and PBL with usingMs Frontpagemedia on students’learning outcomes. (3) There are no interaction between learning models with students’ critical thinking ability in affecting student learning outcomes. Abstract

This investigation based on analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation (ADDIE) method intended to develop an innovative chemistry laboratory workbook of Chemistry Element integrated with project-based learning and characters. Two chemistry lecturers and teachers respectively selected to validate three local chemistry laboratory workbook and chemistry laboratory workbook developed. Questionnaires distributed to the lecturer and teacher samples and found that content, language, presentation, and feasibility of graphics scores were 3.31, 3.37, 3.22, 3.15 and 3.15 respectively and the average score was 3.26 which means that the chem. Lab workbook developed is very valid. In addition, student samples consisted of 2 classes of grade XII of science students which classified into experimental group  and Controled group. The developed chemistry laboratory workbook and the conventional workbook were tried out to group Experiment and group Controlled respectively. The average scores of student outcomes in group Experiment was higher than group Controled or 87.5%>73.8%. Then the average psychomotor scores of group  Experiment was larger than group controled or 84.64>78.42. In addition, the affective scores of group Experiment was larger than group Controled or 82.78>76.38. The hypothesis tested with one way ANOVA at the significant level of α = 0.05, and found that tCalc > tTable or 4.536 > 1.697 It is concluded that the Innovative chemistry laboratory workbook is highly very good.Keywords: Chemistry laboratory workbook; chemistry element; project-based learning

Abstract

Abstract. This study was aimed to obtain innovative teaching material based on multimedia to learning the pH solution which can improve learning outcomes and student motivation. The population of this research was all of the even semester students of the State University of Medan (UNIMED). The research sample was taken by using the purposive random samplingwith ± 76 students as the samples who were studying General Chemistry II course at the UNIMED consisting of two classes, the experimental class and the control class. The experiment class used innovative teaching materials that have been developed while the control class used the chemistry student handbook. Five lecturers from the UNIMED and the North Sumatera Islamic University (UISU) were appointed as the validators of the developed innovative teaching materials. The results showed that: (1) the chemistry books that were analyzed gave an average 49,67% which is considered adequate and do not need any revision. However,there are some shortcomings in each book that needs to be developed, (2) the components which are integrated into the developed innovative teaching materials were the integration of the learning model and methods, laboratory activities, campus outside activities, the video and animation multimedia learning materials created using the flip book maker software, (3) the assessment results from the expert validator toward the developed innovative teaching materials is 4,35 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, while the assessment result from the multimedia lecturers 4,4 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, (4) the student learning outcomes that used the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution is higher than the outcomes of the students who used the student handbook with tcount >ttable (4,70 > 1,99), (5) the effectiveness of applying the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning the pH solution showed the student learning outcomes improved to 78%, and (6) the students gave positive feedback and response to the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution with the average acquisition value 4,05 which means that it is proper to use. Abstract

This study aims to see the effect of the cooperative learning model type of group investigation and adversity quotient of students on the mastery of chemical concepts on salt hydrolysis. This research is a quasi-experimental research with a control group posttest only design using a 2 × 3 factorial design. The research was conducted in class IX MIA SMA N 10 Batanghari with two classes. Sampling was done by total sampling. Data collection techniques are questionnaires, tests and documentation. The test instrument was used to determine the value of mastery of chemical concepts on salt hydrolysis. Meanwhile, the questionnaire instrument was used to determine the level of adversity quotient of students. Data processing used two-way ANOVA. The results showed that the cooperative learning model group Investigation type and the adversitiy quotient of the climber type students had high mastery of chemical concepts, but there was no interaction between the group investigation type learning model and the adversity quotient on the mastery of chemical concepts on salt hydrolysis due to the learning model and adversity quotient influence on mastery of chemical concepts independently. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded: (1) there is an effect of the group investigation type cooperative learning model on the mastery of chemical concepts (2) there is an effect of students adversity quotient on chemical concept mastery (3) there is no interaction between the cooperative learning model group investigation type with students' adversity quotient on mastery of chemical concepts in salt hydrolysis.Keywords: Cooperative learning model type of group investigation (GI), Adversity quotient (AQ), Mastery of chemical concepts, Salt hydrolysis

Abstract

Abstract This research aim to know how effect of computer animation instructional media and student motivation for student learning outcomes on teaching redox reaction. The quasy experiment methods conduct and achievement test using as instrument. Data was analysed using inferential statistic method. The results and hypothesis test shows: (1) there is a significant influence the use of computer animation media on learning redox reaction and electrochemical to achievement of students, in which chemistry learning achievement of students taught using computer animation media (84.38) is higher compared chemistry learning achievement of students who are taught without using the computer animation media (78.25), (2) there is a significant influence on learning motivation to achievement of students, in which chemistry learning achievement of students who have a high learning motivation (84.59) higher than chemistry learning achievement of students who have a low learning motivation (78.89), and (3) there is no significant influence of the interaction between the use of computer animation media and learning motivation of students to achievement of student.Kata kunci: Media Animasi, Motivasi, Prestasi Belajar, Kimia.

Abstract

Abstract: Ranti hitam plant (Solanum blumei Nees ex Blume), Solanaceae family is found in Karo and Dairi, traditionally used as a medicinal plant. The results of phytochemical analysis of extract of S. blumei Nees ex Blume shows that secondary metabolites alkaloids, flavonoids, tannins and saponin are more numerous in the ethanol extract of the leaves than the ethanol extract of the fruit. Quinone is only found in the ethanol extract of the leaves. Phenol is widely available on the ethyl acetate extracts of leaves and fruit.Steroids and triterpenoids are abundant in n-hexane extract and ethyl acetate leaves and fruit as well as the ethanol extract of the leaves. The yield of extract n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol blumei leaves S. Nees ex Blume respectively are 1.76%; 3.17% and 9.95% (w/w). The yield of extract n-hexane, ethyl acetate and ethanol fruit S. blumei Nees ex Blume respectively are 1.21%; 2.50% and 4.09% (w/w). Abstract

Abstract. Guava is one type of fruit that has not received special attention in Indonesia. Guava fruit in unfavorable environmental conditions will cause damage guava fruit, both in appearance, texture, aroma and nutritional value. One way to overcome this problem is by low temperature processing such as Velva. To obtain good results Velva with a soft texture and smooth to use stabilizers with the right amount. Objective: To determine the effect of various concentrations of adding cornstarch to receive power Velva guava. This study is an experimental test using a hedonic liking organoleptic test. Conducted at the Laboratory of Food Technology Nutrition Department Banda Aceh, on the 29th until August 31, 2012 with the number of panelists somewhat trained 25 students from the Department of Nutrition Level III. The research design uses completely randomized design (CRD) non factorial, processing and analyzing data using Analysis Fingerprint Car (ANSIRA) and continued with Duncan test to see some real treatment effect. From the test results mean organoleptic guava Velva Velva acquired taste panelists are most preferred in treatment B (1%), the most preferred color Velva panelist is in treatment C (1.5%), the most preferred scents Velva panelist is on C treatment (1.5%), and the texture of the most preferred Velva panelist is in treatment B (1%). The addition of cornstarch concentration significantly affect flavor and texture, but did not significantly affect the color and aroma of guava Velva. Keywords: velva, guava, meizena

Abstract

Yellow frangipani flowers (Plumeria alba) are plants that commonly found in the tropics, including Indonesia. Frangipani utilization has not optimum and research about it has not many conducted. This study aims to characterize and test the antioxidant activity of frangipani flower extract. The extraction conducted by maceration method using n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol as solvents. Characterization includes phytochemicals assay (alkaloids, flavonoids, terpenoids, phenolic hydroquinone, tannin-polyphenols, and saponins), total phenolic assay, and total flavonoid assay. Antioxidant test using DPPH radical scavenging assay. The results of the characterization showed that frangipani flower extract positively contained alkaloid, flavonoids, tannins compounds in all solvent phases. Terpenoids are positive in n-hexane and ethyl acetate extract, while saponins are positive in methanol extract. The total phenolic content of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extract were 3.6 mgGAE/g; 27.74 mgGAE/g; and 35.23 mgGAE/g. The total flavonoid content of n-hexane, ethyl acetate, and methanol extract were respectively 0.8 mgQE/g; 12.18 mgQE/g; 19.9 mgQE/g. The strongest antioxidant activity is possessed by ethyl extract, followed by methanol extract, and the last are n-hexane extract.Keywords:Antioxidant; frangipani flower; phytochemical; total phenolic; total flavonoid
