Abstract

ABSTRAKIlmu Pengetahuan Alam (IPA) berkaitan dengan cara mencari tahu tentang alam secara sistematis, sehingga IPA bukan hanya penguasaan kumpulan pengetahuan yang berupa fakta-fakta, konsepkonsep,atau prinsip-prinsip saja. Proses pembelajarannya menekanzkan pada pemberianpengalaman langsung untuk mengembangkan kompetensi agar menjelajahi dan memahami alamsekitar secara ilmiah. Pendidikan IPA diarahkan untuk inkuiri dan berbuat sehingga dapatmembantu peserta didik untuk memperoleh pemahaman yang lebih mendalam tentang alamsekitar. Sesuai dengan teori pembelajaran konstruktivisme oleh Piaiget.

Abstract

Pendekatan  saintifik memberikan kesempatan pada siswa untuk aktif dalam proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh pendekatan saintifik dalam meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada mata pelajaran IPA materi pengukuran.. Penelitian Tindakan Kelas (PTK) ini dilaksanakan di kelas VII SMP Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan tes.  Analisis data menggunakan perhitungan persentase ketuntasan kemampuan  berpikir kritis. Hasil analisis menunjukkan bahwa ketuntasan klasikal pada siklus I sebesar 42% dan siklus II sebesar 89%. Oleh karena itu, terdapat peningkatan kemampuan berpikir kritis  siswa yaitu sebesar 47 %. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bawa pendekatan saintifik dapat meningkatkan kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa pada materi pengukuran di SMP Taman Pendidikan Islam Medan

Abstract

Mastery of concepts in chemistry lessons it is important to note, byteachers of chemistry. Therefore, this study was aimed to evaluate the concept of understanding acid -base using a multiple-choice assessment type two tier. So that teachers are able to measure the students ' understanding about the mastery of acid-base conceptas reference materials for teachers to continueto correct the learning in the classroom.  A number of 15 items about the concept of acid-base was designedusing multiple choice two tier test tested to 11th graders in the even semester. The method used in this study using descriptive qualitative. The research was conducted in senior high school 19 Medan with population 159. The sampling technique was done by random sampling. Data analysis technique used description of data obtained from result of student answer. The results of the data analysis obtained as amount as 47% or there are seven items which answered correctly in the first tierwith the lowestcategory, 47% or there are seven items which answered correctly in both tierswith medium category, and only one question answered correctly on both tiers with high category. Percentage of students' understanding of the concept of acid-base using two tier diagnostic tests is 35 people or 47% in the low category, 40 persons or 53% in the medium category, while the highercategory is 0%. Keywords:       identification,chemistry assessment, two-tier tests, acids and bases concept.

Abstract

In this study, the learning process was carried out using a scientific approach, then measuring the students' interest in science lessons and science process skills. This study aims to: 1) Determine the level of student interest in science lessons using a scientific approach, 2) Investigate the effect of the scientific approach on students' science process skill levels, 3) Investigate the relationship between interest in science lessons and science process skills. The research method used in this study is descriptive and associative correlational survey research methods. The instruments used in this study consisted of 1) questionnaire on the level of students' interest in science, 2) interview sheets, 3) Science Process Skills Test. The samples of this research were 45 students of AnNizam grade VII. The results showed that the investigation of the majority level of student interest was 52% at a high level, the results of examining the effect of scientific learning on process skills using the independent sample t-test obtained tcount > ttable, namely 6.16 > 1.68. The simple regression investigation found a strong relationship between interest and science process skills of about 0.63.

Abstract

Learning by practicum method is a way of delivering learning material by providing opportunities to the students to practicein order to make the students engage in planned and active learning experiences so that students' interest grows on chemistry subject. The population in this study were the students of XI class at YAPSI Senior High School in Medan. The sampling technique is done by using the Quota sampling technique. The instruments were the student’s interests in questionnaire and student activeness observation sheet. The requirements test is in the form of normality test and homogeneity test with the value of Lcount = 0.663 initial interests data and Lcount = 0.172 final interests data which means the data is normally distributed. In the homogeneity test Fcount = 0.233 initial interests data and Fcount = 0.449 final interests data with homogeneous results. The data analysis technique was done by using the hypothesis t test and N-gain test. The results showed that the hand soap making practice with the addition of pineapple extract (Ananas comosus L.. Merr) had an influence on students’ learning interest with N-gain of 7.6 in experimental class data and N-gain of 5.4 in control class data and from the t hypothesis test obtained Tcount> Ttable which Tcount = 6.90 and Ttable at level 0.05 is 2.01 so Ho is accepted, which means that there was an influence of the handsoap making practice with the addition of pineapple skin extract (Ananas comosus L. Abstract

Abstract. This study was aimed to obtain innovative teaching material based on multimedia to learning the pH solution which can improve learning outcomes and student motivation. The population of this research was all of the even semester students of the State University of Medan (UNIMED). The research sample was taken by using the purposive random samplingwith ± 76 students as the samples who were studying General Chemistry II course at the UNIMED consisting of two classes, the experimental class and the control class. The experiment class used innovative teaching materials that have been developed while the control class used the chemistry student handbook. Five lecturers from the UNIMED and the North Sumatera Islamic University (UISU) were appointed as the validators of the developed innovative teaching materials. The results showed that: (1) the chemistry books that were analyzed gave an average 49,67% which is considered adequate and do not need any revision. However,there are some shortcomings in each book that needs to be developed, (2) the components which are integrated into the developed innovative teaching materials were the integration of the learning model and methods, laboratory activities, campus outside activities, the video and animation multimedia learning materials created using the flip book maker software, (3) the assessment results from the expert validator toward the developed innovative teaching materials is 4,35 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, while the assessment result from the multimedia lecturers 4,4 which is considered valid and do not need any revision, (4) the student learning outcomes that used the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution is higher than the outcomes of the students who used the student handbook with tcount >ttable (4,70 > 1,99), (5) the effectiveness of applying the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning the pH solution showed the student learning outcomes improved to 78%, and (6) the students gave positive feedback and response to the innovative teaching materials based on multimedia in learning pH solution with the average acquisition value 4,05 which means that it is proper to use. Abstract

The demands on chemistry learning require hands-on action in the form of practicums to fit understanding of chemical concepts, examine the theories obtained and relate them to everyday scientific phenomena through scientific activities in the laboratory. So that cognitive, affective, and psychomotor learning outcomes are achieved. This research is a type of qualitative descriptive research. This study investigates student perceptions and Self-Regulated Learning (SRL) on integrated blended learning Project Based Learning that affects student learning outcomes. The research subjects were nine people students who were enrolled in basic chemistry courses. This research was conducted for seven meetings where the learning process was carried out with a mixture of online and offline lectures called Blended Learning. Data collection was conducted through interviews to determine student perceptions of Blended Learning and a questionnaire to determine the student's SRL level. Learning Outcomes (LO) tests were in the form of cognitive, affective, and psychomotor. The interview data were analyzed inductively. Meanwhile, the SRL data analysis and the LO test are presented as an integrated and comparative description. Students' interviews revealed positive perceptions about the learning. This study found that the students' SRL were in the high (56%), medium (33%), and low (11%) categories. The LO assessment was obtained from the pre-test and post-test; all students' scores increased. As for the attitude, the measurements showed four categories: very good (67%), good (11%), adequate (11%), and poor (11%). Assessment of instruments designed showed that 67% of the instruments were developed while another 33% were underdeveloped.

Abstract

Abstract: Application of Problem Based Learning Model Assisted by Android Learning Media to Increase High School Students' HOTS on Redox Reaction Material. This study aims to describe the application of the problem-based learning model assisted by Android learning media to increase students' higher-order thinking skills (HOTS) on redox reaction material. The method used in this study is the quasi-experimental design method, with the type of research design used being a non-equivalent control group design. The research sample selected is X MIA 2 as a control class and X MIA 3 as an experimental class. The research will be conducted at SMA Negeri 2, Tanjung Morawa, in August 2023. Data collection techniques use HOTS-laden essay tests and observation sheets on learning implementation. Data analysis techniques used to measure student success and improvement of HOTS use independent sample t-tests and N-gains, while for the implementation of learning and student response, they use a Likert scale. The results of the study were obtained where there was a significant influence in the application of the problem-based learning model assisted by android learning media in increasing students' HOTS on redox reaction material with an independent test of t-test samples at α= 0.05 obtained sig. 2-tailed by 0.000 from the post-test value of the control class and experiment, the N-gain value of 0.55 in the medium category. In addition, the implementation of learning gets an average percentage of 88.19%. Abstract

This study used Classroom Action Research (CAR) aimed at improving the conceptual understanding of students in class X-3 at SMA Negeri 14 Medan on the topic of square roots and logarithms through the implementation of an inquiry-based learning model. Based on the research results and discussion, it can be concluded that the inquiry-based learning model is effective in enhancing the students' conceptual understanding. There was an improvement in students' conceptual understanding from Cycle 1 to Cycle 2, where the average class score increased from 69.87 with a classical mastery of 42.42% in Cycle 1 to an average score of 75.88 with a classical mastery of 75.76% in Cycle 2. This increase of 33.34% in classical mastery indicates significant improvement. Additionally, the learning process between the teacher and students in Cycle 2 was also better compared to Cycle 1.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah matematis kelas X pada materi eksponen melalui model pembelajaran Problem Based Learning (PBL) terintegrasi Culturally Responsive Teaching (CRT). Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian tindakan kelas yang dilakukan selama dua siklus. Subjek penelitian ini adalah peserta didik kelas X-2 di SMA Negeri 14 Medan. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes, observasi, dan dokumentasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan adalah statistika deskriptif. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah lembar observasi kemampuan pemecahan masalah, lembar observasi guru, lembar observasi peserta didik, dan soal tes berbentuk essay berbasis CRT. Indikator keberhasilan dalam penelitian ini adalah meningkatnya rata-rata hasil tes dan meningkatnya persentase kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kategori tinggi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan peningkatan rata-rata nilai dan persentase kemampuan pemecahan masalah pada kategori tinggi. Rata-rata hasil tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah peserta didik meningkat dari 66 pada siklus I menjadi 84,03 pada siklus II. Persentase banyak peserta didik yang kemampuan pemecahan masalahnya tinggi juga mengalami peningkatan dari 26,6% pada siklus I menjadi 70% pada siklus II.
