Abstract

Heat Treatment is a process of heating a material (metal) with a certain temperature and then cooling it using certain media (for example: oil, water, and salt water) with a specified cooling speed. This research used a quenching and tempering heat treatment process on API 5L carbon steel pipe with a diameter of 16 inches (406.4 mm) and a pipe thickness of 1,437 inches (36.5 mm), which previously the carbon steel pipe had an overlay welding process on the inside using UNS N06625 filler metal with protective gas of Argon 99.999% to reduce the corrosion rate along the bending process to become Clad Bend Pipe. The purpose of this study is to find out any effects of heat treatment (Quenching and Tempering) to increase the value of the tensile test results on clad bend pipes.

Abstract

Turbin Air Screw Archimedes merupakan salah satu pembangkit listrik mikro hidro yang bekerja untuk menghasilkan energi listrik. Sumber aliran air dari pembangkit listrik ini memiliki head yang rendah sehingga sangat cocok digunakan pada aliran kecil seperti irigasi dan sungai kecil. Turbin didesain kemudian dibangun membentuk prototipe dengan panjang screw 1 m, diameter luar 0,3 m, jumlah sudu 15, dan jarak pitch masing-masing 13 cm. Penelitian dilakukan dengan variasi sudut kemiringan turbin adalah 30o, 35o, dan 40o. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa putaran rotor terbaik dihasilkan oleh sudut 40o. Putaran yang mampu dibangkitkan dengan head 0,67 m, debit aliran 7 liter/detik adalah sebesar 930 Rpm dengan potensi daya listrik sebesar 43,95 watt.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design and manufacture tensile test equipment that can determine the tensile load of natural fibers which is a parameter to determine the mechanical property of the material. The research method is to make designs through Autodesk Fusion 360 software, manufacture and supply components, assembling and test fiber tensile test equipment. In single fiber testing, the test specimen is made according to the ASTM ASTM 3379-02 standard. The results of this research are one unit of digital fiber tensile test equipment with a maximum load capacity of 100 N (10 kgf), a gripping capacity of 600 mm x 30 mm. While testing this fiber tensile test equipment on coconut single fiber material, the tensile strength (F) is between 16.42 N to 29.31 N. And from the calculation of tensile strength (σ) the tensile strength of coconut fiber is 61.70 N/mm2 to 83.80 N/mm2. From the results of this study, it was concluded that the tensile test equipment made can operate as expected to determine the tensile load (F) as well as single so that through the test results this tool can be determined the tensile strength of single fiber material.

Abstract

Tension Leg Platform (TLP) is an offshore platform that is usually used for oil and gas exploration activities in the deep sea. One of the problems is the extra shaking of the TLP in response to extreme ocean waves. Under certain conditions, especially in the deep seas of the ocean, these shocks can cause various disturbances, and even have the potential to damage structures. In this article, it is proposed to use a cylindrical pontoon to obtain a more stable dynamic response, which will then be compared with a pontoon with a square section which is commonly used so far. The dynamic response of both models was recorded by ultrasonic sensor and video tracker. The measurement results are displayed in a non-dimensional form, which is commonly known as the Response Amplitude Operator (RAO), which is the ratio between the displacement of the TLP to the wavelength. From this research, it was found that TLP with cylindrical pontoon section has a relatively stable response when compared to TLP with square pontoon section.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Proses pengupasan kulit bawang putih dapat dilakukan dengan cara manual atau menggunakan mesin. Pada mesin pengupas kulit bawang putih terdahulu menggunakan motor listrik 0,5 hp, dimensi 750 mm x 500 mm x 750 mm, menggunakan pulley dan belt untuk mereduksi putaran menjadi 100 rpm. Hasil penelitian terdahulu diperoleh kapasitas produksi mesin 2,06 kg/jam dan efisiensi produksi mesin 86%. Kekurangan mesin terdahulu antara lain : dimensi tabung pengupas yang kecil hanya efektif untuk 1000 gram, sering terjadi slip pada pulley, kecepatan putaran pada poros pengupas tidak dapat diubah-ubah. Modifikasi dilakukan pada bagian-bagian mesin antara lain: memperbesar dimensi tabung pengupas, memvariasikan tabung pengupas, menggunakan gearbox untuk mentransimisi putaran, menggunakan daya 0,25 hp, dan menambah dimmer sebagai pengontrol putaran. Mesin yang dimodifikasi berdimensi 970 mm x 500 mm x 800 mm dan kecepatan putaran tabung pengupas 120 rpm. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa, kapasitas produksi mesin untuk tipe tabung pengupas tanpa pengaduk 2,88 kg/jam dengan efisiensi produksi mesin adalah 58,6% . Kapasitas produksi mesin untuk tipe tabung dengan karet pengaduk adalah 1,2198 kg/jam, efisiensi produksi mesinnya adalah 47%. ABSTRACT The process of peeling garlic skin can be done manually or using a machine. In the previous garlic peeler machine using a 0.5 hp electric motor, dimensions of 750 mm x 500 mm x 750 mm, using a pulley and belt to reduce rotation to 100 rpm. The results of previous studies obtained a machine production capacity of 2.06 kg/hour and a machine production efficiency of 86%. Disadvantages of previous machines include: the dimensions of the peeler tube are small, only effective for 1000 grams, slips occur frequently on the pulley, the rotational speed of the peeler shaft cannot be changed. Modifications were made to the engine parts, including: increasing the dimensions of the stripper tube, varying the stripper tube, using a gearbox to transmit rotation, using 0.25 hp of power, and adding a dimmer to control the rotation. The modified engine has dimensions of 970 mm x 500 mm x 800 mm and the peeler tube rotation speed is 120 rpm. The results showed that the machine's production capacity for the peeler tube type without agitator was 2.88 kg/hour with the machine's production efficiency of 58.6%. The machine's production capacity for tube type with rubber stirrer is 1.2198 kg/hour, the machine's production efficiency is 47%.

Abstract

Mexican Hat adalah jenis ruang bakar yang banyak digunakan pada motor diesel putaran rendah agar menghasilkan daya yang besar. Penetrasi semprotan diawali dengan primary breakup yang terjadi pada nozzle tip akibat pengaruh bentuk nozzle serta tekanan injeksi kemudian dilanjutkan dengan secondary breakup saat berinteraksi dengan udara dalam ruang bakar. Bentuk kepala piston Mexican hat yang cekung bertujuan untuk memecah droplet menjadi berukuran lebih kecil setelah tumbukan. Hasil penelitian menggunakan FLUENT 6.2 ini membuktikan bahwa peningkatan tekanan injeksi akan mempersingkat waktu breakup dan panjang breakup sedangkan regim splash saat semprotan biodiesel Minyak Goreng Bekas menumbuk dinding piston hanya terjadi pada tekanan injeksi 1750 dan 200 bar. Abstract

Injection molding is a method of forming a thermoplastic that is heated until it melts and then injected with high pressure into the mold so that the thermoplastic material will harden in the mold. The type of injection molding used is the hand press type with a pressure capacity of 34.83 MPa and a barrel capacity of 273 cm3. The mold that will be designed is to make a tensile test specimen ASTM 3039, an Impact test specimen ASTM D 6110-04, and a bending test specimen ASTM D 695. Determination of the specimen pointing to the type of material used is a composite with a high impact polypropylene matrix (PPHI) and natural fibers of Ramie and pineapple leaves. The mold design will initially make 2 mold designs based on the flow of material entering the mold, with the material being tested is 100% PPHI. After getting the optimal one, the composite will test the optimal mold with different types of PPHI composite material and 10% different volume fractions of natural fiber. Namely, pineapple and Ramie fibers with the parameters used as references are fill of time, Pressure at end fill, and Temperature at end fill. In this study, it can be concluded that of the three specimens above, the pineapple leaf fiber has high pressure and temperature at the end fill compared to Ramie fiber.Abstrak ditulis dalam Bahasa Inggris, satu paragraf, memuat tujuan, metode penelitian yang digunakan dan hasil.

Abstract

The development of technology that is growing rapidly at this time has had an impact in various fields, including in the industrial sector. In Indonesia, industrial equipment is still mostly imported from abroad. This of course makes it difficult for the industry in Indonesia to develop because of the high price of industrial equipment. To overcome this, it is necessary to conduct research on the design of industrial equipment for domestic production. In this article, a CNC tool is designed that can be used for engraving or in other terms to automatically draw a pattern on a certain area. Laser Engraving Machines require a circuit control system that functions as the brain of the machine. The purpose of this research is to design a control system for a laser engraving machine using a microcontroller. In this study, the method used is an experimental method in the form of a laser engraving machine design including a driving mechanism, structural elements and the design process. All parameters will be set and operated through the CNC control system so that the laser engraving machine can operate properly. The design planning of this CNC Laser Engraving machine has dimensions with a length of 600 mm, a width of 500 mm. The assembly process for the CNC Laser Engraving Machine is classified into several parts, namely: Basic Machine Framework with an assembly time of 50 minutes, Y-Axis Assembly Moves Tool Front-To-Back with an assembly time of 32 minutes, X-Axis Assembly Moves Tool Side-To-Side with assembly time of 13 minutes, Rotary Table with assembly time of 25 minutes. The performance results of each Axis on this CNC Laser Engraving machine have a high level of accuracy, namely: X Axis = 100%, Y Axis = 100%, Rotary Axis = 100%

Abstract

Telah dilakukan pengujian dynotest. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui pengaruh variasi berat roller terhadap torsi, daya dan efisiensi pada sepeda motor matic. Penelitian dilakukan dengan memvariasikan berat roller R sebesar 9 g, 10 g, 11 gr, dan 12 g. Hasil penelitian menunjukan awalnya sepeda motor dengan torsi 18,86 Nm / 2826 rpm. Peningkatan torsi terbesar 1,88 Nm dimiliki oleh roller weight 9 g dengan 20,74 Nm / 2220 rpm, selamjutnya terjadi penurunan sebesar 3,56 Nm pada roller weight 10 gr dengan hasil 17,18 Nm / 3000 rpm. Namun pada roller 11 g torsi menurun sebesar 17,08 Nm / 2752 rpm. Kemudian pada roller 9 g memiliki daya 8,5 hp dengan 5326 rpm, Roller 11 g memiliki daya 8,5 hp / 5551 rpm dan mengalami peningkatan pada roller 10 g dengan daya 8,6 hp /5086 rpm..

Abstract

King Air is a type of aircraft that is supported by a dual engine, namely the PT6A-52 engine model, this engine is an engine with the latest model of its type, namely the PT6 engine. Routine maintenance of the Beechcraft King Air B200 is carried out in phase 1, phase 2, phase 3, phase 4, special inspection program, lubrication program, and continuous corrosion control inspection. Including windshield maintenance which is included in On-condition maintenance, if cracks, delamination on the glass are found, or the heater on the Windshield does not work, it must be replaced. With the weight of the windshield and the tensile load of the sealent of 47.75 kg. Then a tool is needed to help remove the Windshield. This research focuses on how to design a windshield release device using Solidworks software that is able to pull the load from the windshield and is able to hold the windshield until it is brought to the ground. The design process uses the VDI (Verein Deutscher Ingenieure) 2221 method which includes several design combinations, and then the best design is selected as desired. The design of the windshield release device uses 4 vacuum suctions to lift the windshield made of silicon and NBR with a diameter of 100 millimeters each with a suction power of one vacuum of 353.25 N and the total for 4 vacuums is 1413 N. And for the main frame, ductile iron is used. Which has a yield strength of 379 MPa and threaded using Stainless Steel 304 with a Yield Strength of 205 MPa
