Abstract

The need of student attendance information in schools is a major factor in success of the academic process. Often there are validation and identification errors in the student attendance process (human error or manipulation process) as well as the slowness of information obtained, since the attendance is recorded manually in each class. This has an impact on success of the academic process directly and the community at large. Because the importance of attendance information, various studies have offered the system in the process of student attendance, with various technologies. One popular technology and believed to be validating and identifying well is the fingerprint. Therefore, this paper proposes the introduction of attendance system in schools by utilizing fingerprint technology integrated with android smartphone so that information can be delivered quickly. This study use Fingerprint X-100C as a means of identification of student data at the time of absence then the attendance data will be sent to the system database by SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) Web Service. The system will validate and transmit that information on the android Smartphone via the newly created XML Service. The success rate of this system in processing absence reach around 90,47% with delay time of sending information 0.0024 s This system has been tested and applied to SMK N 1 Indramayu.

Abstract

Red chili is one of the plants that is often used as a complement to spices in Indonesian society and makes chili plants one of their main crops. Some farmers often find it difficult to determine which chili seeds are good and resistant to viruses. In addition, farmers are also difficult to determine good chili seeds at affordable prices. The difficulty of determining which chili seeds are good often makes some farmers fail harvests and suffer considerable losses. This research was conducted in the village of Bandar Siantar, Gunung Malela District. Data is obtained by interviewing and observing directly to chili farmers. This study uses a decision support system technique with the Multi-Objective Optimization method on the basis of Ratio Analysis (MOORA) which can help farmers to determine good chili seeds. The assessment criteria used were the price of seeds (C1), Harvest Period (C2), Fruit Length (C3), Fruit Weight (C4), Chili Disease (C5), Number of Branches (C6) with 8 alternatives, namely: Lado (A1), Taro (A2), Belinda (A3), TM (A4), Kripsy (A5), Tebing (A6), Indra Pura (A7) and Keling (A8). The results of applying the MOORA method in choosing chili seeds are the type of Lado (A1) chili with a value (Yi (max) = 0.2080) becomes the first recommendation, TM (A4) with a value (Yi (max) = 0.2071) being ranked second and Indra Pura (A7) with a value (Yi (max) = 0.1974) becomes third place. This research is expected to help farmers in determining good chili seeds so that they can help the economy of the farmers and avoid crop failure, especially in the village of Bandar Siantar, Gunung Malela District.

Abstract

The development of network technology now allows many applications that can be done with computer networks. This can be seen from the needs of educational institutions for computer networks. One of them is the Polytechnic Caltex Riau (PCR). The use of computers in the laboratory has not yet applied the concept of user management, so that the data stored on the computer can be accessed by more than one user which causes data to be reduced further. One way to overcome this problem is to implement a Primary Domain Controller (PDC), a server that can store and manage computer activities. Requires the client to have an account to log in to the computer and have their own storage media. From the test results obtained by the average received users log in, directory access and application by 96% and from the results of tests that have been done on average to CPU usage of 4% and memory usage by 37%. Can reduce from testing carried out to 30 users, using CPU and memory increases along with the number of clients who carry out activities and it takes a pause when logging in so that all users can access the server.

Abstract

Children must care their parent as their devotion to their parent. In Indonesia, that kind condition is a common situation. But, to handling this situation in this global era is more difficult because many children choose going to another city or another region to do some activity like taking a job or going to college. It gives an impact to their parent especially when their parent is too old and needs to be cared. This motivation in this paper is based on this kind problem. The development of application uses Waterfall. The system must meet the requirement so not just technichal development is performed, social study must be conducted in the process. We use several testings such blackbox testing, server testing, and usefulness identity. Commonly, we got unsatisfied result based on testing, so some repairement must be conducted.

Abstract

The prediction of Compound-Protein Interactions (CPI) is an essential step in drug-target analysis for developing new drugs. Therefore, it needs a good incentive to develop a faster and more effective method to predicting the interaction between compound and protein. Predicting the unobserved link of CPI can be done with Ant Colony Optimization for Link Prediction (ACO_LP) algorithms. Each ant selects its path according to the pheromone value and the heuristic information in the link. The path passed by the ant is evaluated and the pheromone information on each link is updated according to the quality of the path. The pheromones on each link are used as the final value of similarity between nodes. The ACO_LP are tested on benchmark CPI data: Nuclear Receptor, G-Protein Coupled Receptor (GPCR), Ion Channel, and Enzyme. Result show that the accuracy values for Nuclear Receptor, GPCR, Ion Channel, and Enzyme dataset are 0.62, 0.62, 0.74, and 0.79 respectively. The results indicate that ACO_LP has good accuracy for prediction of CPI.
