Abstract

This study aims to increase the self-confident attitude of grade III students of SD Negeri Grindang by applying the PBL learning model. This study is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) using the Kemmis and McTaggart model which includes the empanas of planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The study included two cycle. Subject and subject data in this study were students of class III SD Negeri Grindang. This research uses collection and teaching techniques through observation, questionnaires and documentation. The data validity used source triangulation and data method triangulation. The data analysis technique used is an interactive analysis model. In pre-cycle, resulting in a percentage of 28,5% reaches the passing grade. The first cycle resulting in a percentage of 42,85% reaches the passing grade in classical terms, the second cycle resulting a percentage of 85% reaches the passing grade in classical terms. The conclusion in this study is the PBL learning model which can increase self-confidence in grade III students of SD Negeri Grindang for the 2020/2021 academic year.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the relationship between the interest in becoming an elementary school teacher and the teaching readiness of PGSD FKIP UNRI students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a survey method. This research was conducted at PGSD FKIP UNRI which involved 118 active students of PGSD FKIP UNRI class of 2018. The data collection technique in this study used a questionnaire with a sampling technique, namely total sampling. Total sampling is a sampling technique in which all members of the population are sampled in order to obtain representative research results. The validity test of the questionnaire used the product moment correlation technique, while the reliability test used the Alpha Cronbach formula. As for the prerequisite analysis test, the normality test and linearity test were carried out. Then do the hypothesis testing with the product moment correlation test. The level of significance of the analysis results was set at 5%. This data analysis technique was carried out with the help of the SPSS version 21 program. The results in this study can be concluded that there is a positive and significant relationship between interest in being an elementary school teacher and Teaching Readiness of PGSD FKIP UNRI students class of 2018 which is shown by the results of the correlation coefficient r count (0,506) > r table (0,180).

Abstract

This study aims to improve the speaking skills of fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Kalijoyo for the academic year 2020/2021 by using the Show and Tell model with the whatsapp video call platform. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR) which refers to Kurt Lewin (Arikunto, 2015: 42) which consists of four stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The research was carried out in two cycles where each cycle was carried out in four meetings. The research subjects were 16 fifth-grade students of SD Negeri 1 Kalijoyo. The techniques accumulation of data is observation, interview, document analyzing, and test. The analysis of data use triangulation technique, triangulation sources, and content validation. This TECHNIQUE research is the interactive analysis model of Miles and Huberman (Sugiyono, 2015: 337) The results of the research data in the first cycle showed that the classical completeness in the pronunciation aspect was 56.20%, the vocabulary aspect was 62.50%, the fluency aspect was 50%, and the accuracy aspect of the story content was 56.20%. Pronunciation is 93.75%, vocabulary aspect is 81.25%, fluency aspect is 87.50%, and story content accuracy is 93.75%. These data indicate that the application of the model Show and Tell with the whatsapp video call platform can improve students' speaking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to describe and find out how professional competency knowledge of elementary school teacher candidates for PGSD FKIP Riau University students. The research method in this study is a survey method. The type of data used is quantitative data in the form of numbers and primary data obtained through a distributed google form questionnaire. Data collection techniques are carried out by distributing questionnaires or questionnaires that have previously been validated by the validator. The data analysis technique in this research is descriptive quantitative with statistical analysis. The data taken is then calculated the percentage of data from each indicator, then interpret the percentage score and analyze each indicator. This research involved 120 active students of class 2017, 2018, 2019, and 2020 PGSD FKIP Riau University. The results of the overall data recapitulation of each indicator of professional competence knowledge of prospective elementary school teacher students are 68.01% with a good category. It can conclude that the knowledge of the professional competence of prospective elementary school teacher students can be categorized as good. This research can be expected to become a guideline and evaluation for related parties in need. The results of this study are also expected to be used as study material for other researchers in analyzing the professional competence knowledge of prospective elementary school teachers.

Abstract

The importance of mother's skills towards children is needed so that children become independent. In this case, efforts are needed to improve maternal parenting skills. One of the efforts that can be done is the provision of psychoeducation about knowledge of school readiness for mothers. Therefore, this study aims to determine whether there is an effect of child independence after the mother is given knowledge about psychoeducation. The mothers who were given the knowledge about Psychoeducation were 30 people who were the guardians of Hasanuddin Kindergarten students. The research data was collected with a focus on the children's independence scale and school readiness scale, because the research data was not normally distributed, the data analysis used in this study was Non Parametic Wilcoxson. From the results of the analysis, the value of t count is 0.015 and the value of sig. of 0.988 which means that there is no difference in the independence of the child before the mother is given psychoeducation and after being given psychoeducation.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to describe the results of the development of statistical questions presented by utilizing Microsoft Power Point applications based on Visual Basic for Applications. The development model in this study uses the ADDIE model which stands for analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. This research trial used several subjects including two validators, namely material experts and media experts, as well as mathematics education students who took statistics courses. Data collection techniques were carried out through test and questionnaire methods. While the data analysis technique used quantitative descriptive analysis. This development research resulted in a product in the form of statistical test questions in the form of multiple choice questions consisting of five questions and packaged in a macro VBA-based Microsoft Power Point application. The results showed that the questions developed met the valid, reliable, and sensitive categories. In addition, the products developed have also met the criteria of being valid, practical, and effective for use.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of principal's leadership and teacher's work motivation, either individually or jointly on employee performance. The research was conducted in SDN in Dumai Barat sub-district, Dumai City with the research subjects being teachers in SDN in Dumai Barat sub-district, Dumai City, the method used was a survey with correlation technique, the research sample was teachers at SDN in the sub-district of West Dumai City. Dumai totaling 150. The instrument used to collect data on principals' leadership, work motivation and performance was using a questionnaire. The validity of the test items using the product moment formula and the instrument reliability coefficients were calculated using the Cronbach alpha formula. The results of this study indicate that: 1) there is a significant and positive influence between the principal's leadership on performance; 2) there is a significant and positive effect between teacher work motivation on performance; 3) there is a significant and positive influence between the principal's leadership and the work motivation of teachers on performance together. The results of this study are expected to be useful for the improvement and improvement of the performance of principals and teachers in public elementary schools throughout the West Dumai sub-district, Dumai City.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence with teacher job satisfaction. This study uses a survey method with correlational techniques. The population of the study was the teachers of SDN in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City with a sample of 150 people. The instrument used for data collection is a number of written questions with 4 variations of answer choices. The instrument item validation was tested using product moment correlation, while the instrument reliability test was calculated using the Alpha Conhbach formula. The results showed that (1) there was a significant relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. (2). There is a very strong relationship between spiritual intelligence and job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. (3). There is a positive and significant relationship between emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence together with job satisfaction of State Elementary School teachers in Dumai Barat District, Dumai City. The results of this study are expected to be useful for improving work stress, emotional intelligence and personality of State Elementary School teachers in West Dumai District, Dumai City. The conclusion of this study shows that job satisfaction can be reduced through increasing emotional intelligence and spiritual intelligence either alone or together

Abstract

Character provides an overview of a nation, as a marker of characterization, as well as differentiating a nation from another. Character is the direction of how the nation will pass through an era and deliver it to a certain degree. A great nation is a nation that has character that is able to build a civilization of Saleh, (2012: 1). Character education which is systematically applied to one of the formal school institutions, namely Elementary School (SD) is a fairly good progress. The students acquire positive behaviors and habits that can increase their self-confidence. Character education applied to formal educational institutions can also be a means of civilizing and humanizing Noviani, (2011: 205-215). Data was collected through interviews, documentation and observation. Analysis of the data in this study with the following steps: Data Reduction, Data Presentation, Conclusion Drawing and Verification From the results of data analysis carried out on the impact of scouting activities in shaping the character of discipline and responsibility, namely rewards and punishments, direct orders and directions, and conditioning for every action. The achievement of 4 indicators of discipline and responsibility in keeping the lesson schedule such as doing the assigned tasks, discipline and responsibility in respecting time, students do not procrastinate on work, especially worship, self discipline and responsibility focusing on students' independence and discipline and responsibility in maintaining physical condition, namely students are able to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Abstract

This study was conducted in SD Negeri 173 Pekanbaru at class V with 36 students, consisting of 19 male students and 17 female student. Based on preliminary observations V graders learnt mathematics that is still low than KKM (Complete Minimal Criteria) 70 average grade was 66.90 with 42.5 % completeness percentage. To solve this problem researchers tried to apply Contextual Learning Approach to improve students achievement on mathematics at class VB SD Negeri 43 Pekanbaru. The metdhod used was a Classroom Action Research (CAR), which consists of 2 cycles. The first cycle consists of 2 meetings and the second cycle consists of 2 meetin. The research instrument consisted of learning devices (syllabi, lesson plan, worksheets, and achievement test sheets), teacher observation sheets and student activities sheet. The research data were analyzed descriptively. Results of this study indicated that the student achievement has increased, the teacher activity of the first meeting 65 % and the second meeting of the first cycle was 73 %, mean while the teachers avtivity from the second meeting on the first cycle to the meeting of the second cycle increased to the 90 % and than it is increase to 96 % from the first meeting to the second meeting of second cycle. While the students activity of the first meeting of the first cycle of was 60 %, and the second meeting of the first cycle increased to 71 %. Then it increas to 83 % from the second meeting of the first cycle to the first meeting of the second cycle, and increase to 94% from the first meeting of the second cycle to the second meeting of the second cycle. There were increasing of student achievement from the mean score, 66.9 to 72.88 in cycle first, and it increased 75.6 to the second cycle. It can be concluded that the implementation contextual approach could improve students mathematics student achievement at V class of SD Negeri 173 Pekanbaru.
