Abstract

This study aims to examine the gap between human capital theory and allocation theory in Indonesia to see the dominant factors driving economic growth by making the solow theory a bridge theory or an intermediary between the gap between human capital theory and allocation theory. In order to understand and test the human capital theory and allocation theory in Indonesia, testing is carried out using the autoregressive threshold quantitative method. The use of the autoregressive Threshold quantitative method aims to see the behaviour of data from the education, health and technology variables so that it can be seen clearly that the dominance of the economic growth drive comes from human capital or from the human side in accordance with the explanation of human theory or from the outside of the human self and in this study technology as explained by the allocation theory. We find that in Indonesia, the role of human capital is very important because human capital in the case of Indonesia is a major factor in driving economic growth and technology plays a role as a supporter of human performance. This is in accordance with the human capital theory and does not support the allocation theory

Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the role of halal labels in affecting attitude toward halal products on brand image and purchase intention among Muslim consumers in Malang. Design/methodology/approach: Quantitative methods were employed in this study to reveal the important role of attitude toward halal directly on brand image and purchase intention or indirectly through halal label. In addition to analyzing the direct and indirect effects, this study also confirms how the relationship and significance between each construct and its indicators. Findings: The results of the research findings indicate that each effect on the relationship between variables was found to be significant. The most important determinant of halal labeling is halal product attitude. Meanwhile, the halal label is the most important factor in encouraging brand image and purchase intention. Research limitations/implications: Discussion of Islamic branding especially in the halal label can be considered as a separate theoretical study. It is considered that the epistemological basis of Islamic marketing theory, models, and approaches is rather limited in terms of its development. Practical implications: This research provides practical implications about the importance of halal product management by product marketers in the Malang area Originality/value: There is an increasing need for clarifying the need to establish a theoretical framework for Islamic Branding with Halal Labels when they intersect as in terms of Islamic concepts, theories, models and approaches.

Abstract

Purpose: This research purports to forecast the number of foreign tourists arriving at major airport in Indonesia. The airports chosen are Soekarno Hatta, Juanda, I Gusti Ngurah Rai, and Kualanamu international airports. Design/methodology/approach: The data used were foreign tourists arrival at major airports located in Jakarta, Surabaya, Medan, and Denpasar. The data extended from January 2014 until December 2018. Two time-series methods were employed, namely Holt-Winter Seasonality and Exponential Smoothing with maximum likelihood. The forecasts would reveal the fitted numbers of foreign tourists arriving from January 2019 until December 2019. The fitted numbers would then be compared to the actual numbers of January 2019 to December 2019. Findings: The results showed that, overall, Holt-Winters seasonality excel at forecasting foreign tourists arrival at Soekarno Hatta and Juanda international airports. While Exponential Smoothing perform better for prediction at I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Kualanamu international airports. The MAPE for Holt-Winters at Soekarno Hatta and Juanda international airports were 26.1585% and 14.538%. The MAPE for Exponential Smoothing at at I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Kualanamu international airports were 7.76% and 15.6791%. Research limitations/implications: Forecasting for foreign tourist arrival at Soekarno Hatta and Juanda international airports should employ Holt-Winters approach. Forecasting for foreign tourists arrival at I Gusti Ngurah Rai and Kualanamu international airports should employ Exponential Smoothing with maximum likelihood. Practical implications: Certain forecasting methods work better than the others at certain international airports. Many forercasting methods are available. Two methods are specifically prominent for detecting seasonality and trend, i.e Holt-Winters and Exponential Smoothing with maximum likelihood. Originality/value: Most research focus on one method at a time. This research compares two methods so that we can know better which method is suitable for certain airports. Four international airports are sampled in this study. Not many research focus on several places at a time. Paper type: Research paper

Abstract

Based on the Bali Economic Quarterly Development document for the second quarter of 2021 by BPS, from the beginning of 2020 until now, the Covid-19 pandemic has continued to infect Indonesia. Even the number of new cases affected by this disease is increasing. Based on data from the Covid-19 Handling Task Force, as of June 30, 2021, the number of daily new confirmed cases reached around 21,000. Not only attacking the health sector, but this pandemic has also shattered the joints of the economy. Various government efforts carried out in 2021 have been able to withstand the economic contraction year on year. In the second quarter of 2021, Indonesia's economic growth year on year was recorded at 7.07 percent and was the first positive growth since the second quarter of 2020. In particular, the tourism sector became the sector that experienced the highest growth in the second quarter of 2021. The transportation and accommodation provision business fields, which are the business fields most closely related to the tourism sector, are the two categories that experienced the highest growth, namely by 25.10 percent and 21.58 percent. Among all provinces in Indonesia, Bali can be said to be one of the provinces most affected by the Covid-19 pandemic. Bali's dependence on foreign tourist visits has caused Bali to still slump in the economy. Since March 2020, the arrival of foreign tourists to Bali has continued to decline. The decline even reached almost 100 percent when compared to the same months the previous year.

Abstract

The research gap in this study with previous research is in the first study of Ahmed A. Diab, Samir I. Abdelazim, Aref M. Eissa, Eid Mahmoud Abozaid, Mona Mohamed Elshaabany, where previous research only examined company size and financial performance on audit opinion in 2012-2016, while this research is on State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) listed on the Indonesian Stock Exchange. In addition, there have not been many previous studies similar to this research, but the research has a novelty in the form of the absence of a comprehensive study that examines the variables of Investment Decisions, Funding Decisions, PSAK Compliance, on Audit Opinion with CSRD and Financial Performance as Intervening variables. and GCG as Moderating Variable. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of investment decisions, funding decisions, PSAK compliance, on audit opinions. CSRD and Financial Performance variables as Intervening variables on CSRD, Financial Performance and Audit Opinion with GCG as moderating in BUMN companies on the Indonesia Stock Exchange. The quantitative research method is Causal Explanatory with the unit of analysis as many as 23 Non-Bank BUMN companies during the 2017 to 2019 research period so that a total of 69 samples were processed using SmartPLS 3.0. The results showed that 14 hypotheses were accepted, meaning that there was a significant effect on Investment Decisions, Funding Decisions and PSAK Compliance on CSRD, Financial Performance and Audit Opinions. Meanwhile, GCG is proven to moderate the influence of Financial Performance on Audit Opinion (H13), while one hypothesis, namely H12, is rejected. This means that GCG does not moderate the influence of CSRD on Audit Opinion
