Abstract

Financial literacy (FL) initiatives are known as becoming a key element for achieving financial reform around the world. This study aim to assess the degree of financial literacy using the basic and advance financial literacy index approach to measures financial literacy among young generations. In constructing financial literacy index, there are four steps: grouping questions, assigning score for each question, calculating weight for each question, and constructing financial literacy index. Primary data collected using online questionnaires through supervision by researcher. It is found that financial literacy among university students is vary differs depend on their background and willingness to learn about financial course. This study found the level of basic financial literacy and advance financial literacy among young generations found respectively 77 and 61. Financial literacy index counted 69, it is categorized to moderate (60-80) financial literacy index. Besides it were statistically found that previous financial courses significantly impact the financial literacy index and there is a difference between basic and advance financial literacy index among young generations. This study implies there is demanding of collaboration among government, academia, private sectors and civil society are the stakeholders to build better financial literacy to society.

Abstract

Risk and return is an important factor in business and investment decision making. Normally, conventional investor and bank use interest as price of money/ investment return while business risk will be transferred to the lender. Islamic banks and investors on the other hand have unique contract which profit and loss are distributed between contracting party namely mudharaba and musharaka. These contracs will have grater uncertainty compared to conventional interest rate since contracting party agree on both risk and return sharing. The purpose of this paper is to exercise monte carlo simulation to model and predict 5 year risk and return in business plan as a tool for better business and investment decition making. Using Monte Carlo Simulation to business plan, this paper finds that PLS has bigger potential of return compared to conventional interest and shows risk-return indicatior such as IRR, NPV and EBITDA as the basis of PLS. This simple yet powerful method can be employed by sharia banks as management and risk-return analysis tools to assess and evaluate PLS contract with financing partner.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the importance of the formation of the character of each individual that needs to be formed to have the nature and mindset is good, true, and high quality. Formation of character creative, productive and competitive, a force for building the spirit and thoughts of someone in order to be become a human being intelligent, skilled, inventive.Research methods used were interviews, observation, participation, and documentation. Subjects were students of the third semester to the top of the fashion school Academy of Art and Design ISWI, Jakarta, Indonesia.Based on the description in this study, it was explained that the creation of the character of the creative, productive and competitive as applied to students of fashion schools where the author teaches, it is very beneficial for students and the campus. The positive energy generated from the character can be equipped students to independently create entrepreneurs. The implication of this study is an effort to improve students ability to spirit and mindset of entrepreneurship through the creation of the character of the creative, productive, and competitive.

Abstract

The objective of this research is to propose a method in order to increase classification performance of LiDAR images fused with aerial optical images. Classification method in use is popular multiclass ensemble classifier method, AdaBoost.MH. The Weak classifier in use of AdaBoost.MH is Hamming Trees. Then, the post-processing method is conducted to remove the noise with Breadth First Search (BFS) algorithm. Post-processing increase the accuracy to 0.96% and able to reduce the noise of classification result. This research is able to increase the accuracy on previous research by 94.96%

Abstract

Any software developed within the Directorate General of Tax (DGT) should be consistent with the requirements of the organization and their users. However, changes to business processes, regulations, and other factors are unpredictable and they might cause unexpected changes in the requirements. In Waterfall methodology, these unexpected changes might be difficult to accommodate because Waterfall methodology uses a sequential and all-at-once approach for developing software. In order to avoid such circumstances, the DGT should implement an iterative and incremental approach that is inherent in Scrum methodology. This paper describes an early implementation of Scrum methodology in the DGT. It explains some of the advantages and obstacles faced by the DGT during the implementation. It also provides several recommendations for the DGT to ensure the successful transition from Waterfall to Scrum which includes technical, behavioral, and organizational changes

Abstract

Social network analysis (SNA) examines the relationship of nodes in the graph. This study uses Hadoop technology with the use of clustering method (High-Performance Cluster) and 5 SNA parameters on hoax topic, by manipulating the iteration and assign the value of t-max on Gephi tools. Based on 1 month of observations, the authors found 18 days where keyword hoax became the trending topic on Twitter. This means 58% of Twitters users are more often talk about hoaxes. Intact-group comparison experiments are applied to Twitter data that will be grouped into 2 groups (controls and experiments). The authors were able to get data as much as 16,400 data during data gathering phase. Variable changes were performed in the experiment group. The addition of iteration from 100 to 200, which increase the value of degree centrality from 3601 to 5070 or about 40.79%. Assignment of t-max from none to 60s increases 33.33% of the clusters formed in the graph. The authors used the Intact-Group Comparison Method consisting of 7 research steps: Design Selection, Determination of Representative Sample, Instrumentation, Implementation of Experiment, Data Collection and Analysis, Data Interpretation and Analysis, and Experiment Conclusions. With the result of clusters increased from 3 to 4 clusters. This research can be developed using True Experiment Design and the addition of Sentiment Analysis.

Abstract

Ngorok disease (Septicaemia Epizootica) is a disease that attacks livestock, especially cows are acute and very fatal. Nusa Tenggara Timur is a livestock producer in Eastern Indonesia, one of them is in Kabupaten Kupang. Therefore, the people of NTT are more dominant in raising cattle. However, these livestock animals are susceptible to various diseases, especially SE. Prevention SE is done by vaccination on each cow in the NTT region. Therefore, this study was conducted to help simulate the pattern of Septicaemia Epizootica disease pattern using Cellullar Automata. In the CA simulation there are several stages to be passed that is data collection, data selection process, cartograp making and then the formation of CA simulation. The CA simulation process is performed using the Von Neumann R1 formula that applies an adjacent neighboring scheme of 4 neighbors. From the results of this study obtained a level of accuracy of 77% based on pattern simulation from 2014 to 2016. Therefore this application can already be used to simulate SE disease spread pattern in the coming years.
