Abstract

Abstract:  This study aims to increase Regional Original Revenue (PAD) in Dairi Regency and reduce reliance on federal subsidies by improving tax collection and management. The main objective is to evaluate the strategies used by the Dairi Regency Regional Revenue Agency (BAPENDA) to optimize PAD through intensification and extensification of local taxes. Using a descriptive and qualitative approach, the study gathered data through interviews, observations, and document analysis. The findings highlight BAPENDA’s efforts to modernize tax collection, including the implementation of digital payment systems and collaboration with village leaders to extend tax operations. Despite a 15% increase in tax revenue from hotels and restaurants following the introduction of Tapping Boxes, challenges such as staffing shortages and uncollected revenue persist. The study suggests that improving human resources, public awareness, and infrastructure is crucial for long-term success. Future research should assess the socioeconomic impact of PAD optimization on local businesses and services, and explore strategies for sustainable revenue growth.

Abstract

Abstract: Risk management is an integral part of a business because it has a high environmental, human, legal, and financial impact, including the tourism business. Today's organizations focus on building human risk management systems, limiting risky behaviour, and improving safety behaviour. Based on previous research, compliance with safety rules and regulations significantly minimizes the risk of work accidents. However, safety researchers recognize that compliance alone is not enough to achieve high levels of safety. Organizations need individuals who are also proactive in participating and initiating safety improvements. This type of proactive behaviour is called safety citizenship behaviour. The present study addressed this issue by examining the dimensionality of SCBs as they relate to helping, stewardship, civic virtue, whistleblowing, voice, and initiating change in current practices. Data on SCBs were collected from four districts in Madura. This study was carried out with the following: (1) Calculate descriptive statistics (2) normality test; (3) The use of the structural equation model (SEM) to test concurrent models in the different samples using confirmatory factor analyses (CFA); and (4) multi-group invariance testing.

Abstract

Abstract:  The seaweed industry in the agri-food sector faces significant challenges, such as fluctuating market demand, environmental constraints, and economic pressures, requiring strategic and adaptive solutions. This study explored the integration of SWOT analysis with the Business Model Canvas (BMC) as an innovative approach for strategic planning in the seaweed industry in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province, Indonesia. A mixed-method approach was employed, combining qualitative and quantitative data collection. Qualitative data were gathered through purposive sampling through focus group discussions and in-depth interviews with key stakeholders and experts. Quantitative analysis was conducted using the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) to prioritize strategies derived from the SWOT-BMC integration. The SWOT factors were embedded into the BMC framework to analyze strategic elements. The AHP results revealed that the highest priority strategy (W-O) emphasized innovation and infrastructure improvement through collaboration with government and private stakeholders (weight of 0.122). This strategy focuses on modernizing processing facilities and enhancing supply chain management to ensure consistent product quality and increase capacity to meet global market demand. In contrast, leveraging government support and local natural resources (S-O) was ranked lower in priority (weight of 0.081). Key BMC elements—key activities, key resources, and value propositions—were strengthened by incorporating W-O, S-T, and W-T strategies. This integrated SWOT-BMC approach provides a comprehensive framework for the seaweed industry to drive innovation, enhance competitiveness, and promote a sustainable food system. The study’s practical implications highlight the importance of targeted investments in technology and infrastructure to ensure long-term success in the global market.

Abstract

Abstract:  The theory of market institutions emphasizes the Government's role in creating a healthy and competitive market structure, such as through policies that encourage market access diversification for farmers, strengthening farmers' bargaining position, and oversight of monopolistic or oligopolistic practices. However, most of the falling prices faced by shallot farmers in Bima Regency, one of the shallot production centers in West Nusa Tenggara Province, Indonesia, stems from the pull and push forces between supply and demand at the national level. The weak Government intervention in market institutions exacerbates this problem. The laboratory experiment results showed that the probability of market failure risk faced by shallot farmers reaches 86% when no institutional intervention exists. This finding emphasized the urgency of the role of institutional intervention in reducing the risks faced by shallot farmers in Bima Regency. The lessons from this laboratory experiment also emphasized that institutional interventions through Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD) and the formation of distributor clusters effectively reduce the risk of market failure farmer face. Meanwhile, the collective community power among farmers can be social capital to support the success of institutional interventions.

Abstract

Abstract:  The purpose of this study is to examine the secondary school zoning system policy in the New Learner Acceptance (PPDB) from a decentralization standpoint. The zoning system policy can help achieve sustainable development that takes the community's socioeconomic circumstances into account. This study uses the Lindblom incremental model and includes the following analysis indicators: participation of actors and stakeholders, ongoing renewal, and adaptation to community conditions and requirements. This paper uses a descriptive qualitative method, collecting data through in-depth interview techniques, observation, and documentation. Research informants were selected from various parties, namely the Education and Culture Office of Medan City, the Medan City Government, the Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD), Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), and affected communities. The results showed that the Education and Culture Office of Medan City uses Google Maps to determine the distance between possible new students' homes and the targeted schools as a zoning determination tool. Based on previous years, regulations pertaining to the proportion of new student admissions from school capacity are also renewed. The DPRD, the Medan City Education and Culture Office, NGOs, the community, and public schools that oversee the zoning system are some of the other participants and stakeholders in the policy. This study recommends paying more attention to students who live in zoning-unserved areas, perhaps by constructing public schools in these areas more rapidly.

Abstract

Abstract: This research investigated the impact of carbon pricing, crude oil prices, and non-renewable stock indices on the price dynamics of renewable energy stock indices within the European Union. The objective was to analyze how these factors influence price fluctuations and further enhance investment growth in the renewable energy sector. The Rebalancing Aggregate Real Carbon Price (GRCP) was proposed as a novel independent variable representing carbon price indicators alongside the European Union Allowance (EUA). This research used daily time series data, thus applying Ordinary Least Squares (OLS) with robust standard error as the methodology. OLS with robust standard error is a standard method to ensure the reliability of regression analysis. The results showed that crude oil prices and the EUA exhibit an insignificant negative effect on renewable energy stock returns. Meanwhile, the non-renewable energy stock index showed a positive and significant impact on renewable energy stock returns (p<0.01), indicating that better performance in the non-renewable energy sector increases the influence of environmental issues. GRCP also positively impacted renewable energy stocks, p<0.01 for OMX and p<0.05 for ERIX. This study showed that renewable energy investments can be a solid alternative to non-renewable stocks for investors. For policymakers, strengthening carbon pricing policies across sectors and regions was critical to supporting the transition to renewable energy, as GRCP plays an essential role in shaping stock price dynamics. Thus, in the future, the effectiveness of carbon pricing policies needs to be analyzed to improve global environmental strategies.
