Abstract

This study aims to analyze factors related to public health promotion behavior during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research method is observational analytic using a cross-sectional design. The results showed that the majority of respondents had good knowledge 64.85, had a positive attitude 67.65, had a high motivation of 88.6%, had high family support 84.8%, and had good behavior of 75.2%. The chi-square test shows that health promotion behavior is related to knowledge (P-value 0.003), attitude (P-value 0.001), and family support (P-value 0.004), while motivation is not related (P-value 0.215). In conclusion, health promotion behavior in preventing the spread of COVID-19 is proven to be related to sound knowledge, positive attitudes, and high family support but not motivation. Abstract

Hypercholesterolemia is a condition in which cholesterol levels in the blood are more than normal. Europe and America are the regions with the highest hypercholesterolemia in the world with prevalence values of 54% and 48%, respectively. Meanwhile, Africa and Southeast Asia are regions with the lowest prevalence of hypercholesterolemia with prevalence values of 23% and 30%, respectively. In Indonesia, the age group of 25 - 34 years has the highest rank with high cholesterol levels. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of lowering total cholesterol in male white rats (Rattus norvegicus) induced with Propylthiouracil (PTU). In this study, we used 25 rats which were divided into 5 groups equally. The groups were a negative control group (Na-CMC), a positive control group (Simvastatin), and three extract groups with doses of 500 mg/kgBW, 750 mg/kgBW, and 900 mg/kgBW. We made the ethanol extract of the bark of the Mangkokan stem by maceration. We induced all mice used in the study orally using a high-fat diet and PTU. In this study, the parameters that we studied were total cholesterol levels before induction, after induction, and after treatment. From this study, we found that all groups showed significant changes in total cholesterol levels (P value = 0.000). The group that was given ethanol extract at doses of 500 and 750 mg/kgBW showed a significant difference between the negative control group and the positive control group. Only the 900 mg/kgBW dose group showed no significant difference in total cholesterol levels with the positive control group. Thus, we can conclude that the ethanolic extract of the bark of the Mangkokan stem has the potential to reduce total cholesterol levels but is not as good as the positive control. Abstract

This study aims to test the effectiveness of garlic bulbs on alloxan-induced blood glucose levels in mice. The method used is an actual experimental pretest-posttest control group design. The study revealed that garlic extract could reduce blood glucose levels in mice (p 0.05). The most doses of garlic extract that reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic mice were 6 mg/200 g BW and 12 mg/200 g BW. In conclusion, garlic extract significantly reduced blood glucose levels in diabetic mice when administered at 6 mg/200 g BW and 12 mg/200 g BW. Keywords: Allin, Allisin, Anti Diabetes, Garlic

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of breathing exercises in improving asthma control and quality of life in adult asthma patients. The research method used was a systematic review with a randomized controlled trial (RCT) design. Searching for articles uses four databases, namely: CINAHL, PubMed, SAGE, and Scopus, from 1 September 2017 to 28 February 2021. The research results were 239 articles, 11 of which met the criteria. Breathing exercises given to asthma patients vary from breathing exercises carried out as a single intervention or combined intervention. Breathing exercises for asthma patients include yoga, inspiratory muscle exercises, progressive muscle relaxation, diaphragmatic breathing, slow breathing, and controlled breath holding. This intervention is a type of breathing exercise that significantly affects asthma control and the quality of life of asthma patients. In conclusion, breathing exercises are a non-pharmacological therapy that can be used in clinical practice to help patients manage asthma control and improve their quality of life in addition to pharmacological treatment. Abstract

This study aims to see how groups of people with hypertension comorbid conditions perceive the COVID-19 vaccination service. The research design uses qualitative methods with a phenomenological approach. The results of this study indicate that all participants claimed to want to be vaccinated but were influenced by several obstacles, especially the participants' health conditions; participants considered vaccination a requirement for administrative purposes, public activities, and others. Participants assessed that there was an element of coercion to make it mandatory in the implementation of COVID -19. In conclusion, the perception of groups of people with comorbid conditions of hypertension towards COVID-19 vaccination services produces four main themes, namely Knowledge of COVID-19 vaccination, barriers to receiving COVID-19 vaccination, mandatory vaccination as a condition for carrying out public activities, government policy towards implementation COVID-19 vaccination. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the problems of nurses in conducting auscultation in the intensive care unit. The research method used is descriptive qualitative research. The results of the study found three main themes found in this study, including 1) the time used for auscultation was minimal due to the large number of nurses' tasks to be completed, 2) the stethoscope used should have a clear sound when used, 3) the stethoscope should be more flexible in shape so that it is accessible to in use. In conclusion, the problem nurses face in conducting auscultation examinations on critical patients is the need for a stethoscope that has a more precise sound output and is flexible in its use.
