Abstract

Nanomaterial research, especially in the field of experimentation, cannot be separated from characterization or measurement activities, with characterization we can be sure that the synthesized material meets the nanostructure criteria, one of which is nanometer-sized. In this study we will characterize ZnO nanomaterials from the sol-gel method. Sol-gel is a chemical method that changes the state of the sol (liquid) into a gel state which is then after treatment and the transition to solid oxide material. Zinc Oxide nanoparticles are made with variations in the precursor of Zinc Acetate Dyhidrate 0.3 M and 0.1 M produce crystalline nanomaterial sizes of 157-123 nm. The crystal lattice parameters obtained are a = 3.2714 Å and c = 5.2121 Å and structural characterization revealed a single phase of ZnO with hexagonal wurtzite structure. For the average particle size of Zinc Oxide nanoparticle produced is 86,64-12,60 nm and the morphological form of ZnO nanoparticles produced is spherical and particles agglomerate. The final results show that the increase in the variation of the Zinc Acetate Dyhidrate precursor will increase both the crystal size and the size of the particles produced.

Abstract

Stroke is a disease or functional disorder of the brain in the form of nerve paralysis due to obstruction of blood flow to the brain which can be completely cured, cured with disabilities, or death. Rehabilitation is an effort to improve the quality of life of stroke survivors. However, rehabilitation with self-therapy has several drawbacks such as relatively expensive therapist costs, scheduled time, and limited resources. Therefore, technology is needed such as an exoskeleton robot that can be used by patients for therapy independently and practically. An exoskeleton robot or stroke therapy robot is a robotic framework system that is worn on the patient's joints to assist the patient in the rehabilitation process. For exoskeleton robots there are several kinds of mechanisms and for this study a cable and sheet transmission mechanism is used which is where the drive motors are separate so that they don't put too much of a burden on the user's hands. This research focuses more on the design of the index finger robot which represents the middle, ring, and little fingers. The method used is ansys rigid body dynamic simulation analysis by looking at position, speed, and acceleration. From the simulation results on the index finger exoskeleton robot design, the Range of Motion (ROM) of the flexion extension movement of the MCP joint is 62.17°, PIP 68.74°, and DIP 73.98°. The speed and acceleration of the three joints adjust the position and time coordinates that have been set during the simulation. Abstract

The SME sector is the source of all aspects related to the pattern of human life, starting from the clothing, food and housing sectors. In the process of forming the packaging there are several methods used, the method that is often used is thermoforming. One of the simplest thermoforming methods is vacuum forming. In this research, research will be carried out to identify the strength of the frame structure of a vacuum forming machine with ST 37 iron material. This research focuses on vacuum forming machine frames. The weight of each component includes a 5.2 Kg Box Heater, 7.2 Kg Vacuum Chamber and 3.2 Kg Vacuum. The results obtained from this study are that the vacuum forming machine frame is able to withstand other machine frames. Where the results of the simulation and analytical calculations are not much different. Visualization of the loading of the vacuum forming machine can be seen immediately where the location of the critical load during the simulation is the Maximum Normal Stress of 1.1689 Mpa. The Minimum Normal Stress is -0.88281 and the shear stress is 0.3865 Mpa. And for the safety factor of this simulation is 31.44. The frame of the vacuum forming machine holds the load of the entire component.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bertujuan meningkatkan populasi dan produktivitas ayam kampung melalui produksi pembuatan pakan jadi sebagai sumber protein hewani bagi ayam kampung. Target yang ingin dicapai adalah meningkatkan pengetahuan dan ketrampilan peternak dalam memproduksi pakan jadi (pelet) ayam kampung dan menjamin ketersediaan pakan bagi ternak ayam kampung baik secara kualitas maupun kuantitasnya. Kegiatan yang akan dilaksanakan adalah pembuatan mesin pencetak pelet ayam dengan kapasitas 120 kg/jam dan program pengenalan pemeliharaan ayam kampung secara intensif; pengenalan bahan pakan penyusun ransum ayam kampung; pengenalan formulasi ransum ayam kampung; dan pelatihan pembuatan pakan jadi (pelet) . Metode yang digunakan dalam melakukan pemberdayaan kelompok mitra sasaran (masyarakat peternak ayam kampung adalah teknik pembelajaran dalam bentuk pemberian teori, simulasi kepada masyarakat desa Karangrejo yang menjadi mitra sasaran dan selanjutnya praktek langsung bersama mahasiswa dan mitra sasaran. Luaran dari kegiatan ini adalah publikasi jurnal internasional ber-ISSN, publikasi media lektronik dan video kegiatan yang diupload ke kanal Youtube.

Abstract

The machining process is a process used in the manufacturing industry, the machining process itself has become an important part of the manufacturing industry since the industrial revolution era. In the machining process that is widely used to produce cylindrical products, namely the lathe process. One of the main factors of the quality of processed materials is surface roughness. MQL is a method of providing coolant in the industry which has the function of lowering temperature and reducing friction between the tool and the workpiece. The problem that often occurs in the industrial world, especially manufacturing in the turning process, is the mismatch of the surface roughness of the turning results. Where one of the causes of the roughness results to be inappropriate is the machining parameters that are not adjusted and the high temperature of the workpiece that rubs against the tool during the turning process. Therefore, it is necessary to optimize the machining parameters and coolant used in order to obtain efficient machining parameters and coolant that produces low roughness. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of variations in the spindle speed parameter and the composition of the coolant mixture, namely clogged oil, dromus and water on the surface roughness value of AISI 1045 steel. From the experiments conducted it was stated that the optimum level of each parameter for surface roughness was level 3 spindle speed 585 rpm and level 3 composition of the coolant mixture 30% clogged oil : 20 dromus : 50% water. The parameter that has a significant effect on the value of surface roughness is the spindle speed.

Abstract

Thermoelectric Cooler (TEC) / Peltier cooler box requires DC electric current in operation, so that it can be used as a tool to store portable vaccines that are useful in areas that do not have AC electricity flow. The research method uses experimental methods by making the previous research as a reference for conducting experiments with series variations on TEC. This study uses 2 TECs with a series of series and parallel TEC circuits on polyurethane cooler boxes 5,5 L (280 x 180 x 200) mm, power supplied to series and parallel TEC circuits of 20 W, 30 W, and 40 W while taking data is carried out for 60 minutes. The purpose of the study was to determine the effect of TEC cooling on the cooler, COP value, and efficiency on the system. The cooling capability of the TEC in the cooler shows the temperature in the cooler with the variation of the TEC parallel circuit lower than the series TEC. Calculation of the COP value shows the greater power given to the TEC, the COP value will be smaller, the COP value of the parallel circuit at minute 1 - 3 minutes is smaller than the series TEC, but in the 60th minute the difference in COP value between TEC series and The parallel circuit TEC is not too large. Calculation of cooling box efficiency with vaccine loading shows the highest efficiency is a parallel circuit TEC of 25,84% with input power in a 20 W system and a cooling load of 5,17 W, while the lowest efficiency is a series circuit TEC of 13,48% with input power 40 W and cooling load of 5,39W.

Abstract

Transportation in Indonesia has targets in getting their respective passengers, such as land, sea and air transportation. In air transportation, passengers as consumers or customers, are directly related to the facility service provider, namely the airport. With the increasing number of passengers using facility services at the airport, making the airport also participate in improving performance to provide the best service for its consumers. Waiting room or gate facilities are one of the services presented by the airport to consumers, in this case passengers, to be a waiting room before the departure time of the aircraft arrives. Some of the ideal conditions required by an airport to provide waiting room facility services are a short distance to get to the plane, a waiting room capacity that is directly proportional to the number of passengers and a fairly well allocated gate assignment, adjusting the existing flight schedule every day. This research is to analyze the risk factors that influence the buildup of the number of passengers at the gate which is affected by the time of an airline's on time performance and gate assignment

Abstract

The use of coolant in the machining process aims to reduce the temperature in the cutting area and reduce friction due to friction between the workpiece and the tool which has an impact on the surface quality of the product. Commercial coolants such as Dromus oil use minerals, which are non-renewable and have a negative impact on the environment. Therefore, to overcome this problem, several studies have been carried out to replace or combine commercial coolants with vegetable oils. In this research, an experiment was carried out on the effect of using nyamplung oil ascutting fluidby mixing three different liquids (nyamplung oil, dromus oil, and water) (25%:25%:50%, 20%:30%:50%, and 30%:20%:50%) and the influence of the contribution of Turning machining parameters on tool wear. Machining was carried out on S45C steel using HSS type M2 chisels. This research method uses the Taguchi methodorthogonal array L9(33) with 3 factors (spindle rotation speed, coolant variation, and cutting depth). The results of this experiment show that a coolant composition of 25%:25%:50% (nyamplung oil:dromus oil:water) in 100ml of liquid contributes to reducing tool wear. Based on the average value, it shows that the highest parameter contribution is spindle speed at 60.26%, followed by cutting depth with 29.14% and coolant variation with a contribution of 9.40%.

Abstract

The use of composite materials as a substitute for metal materials in the engineering field has become increasingly widespread not only in the field of transportation panels but also in other fields such as property and architecture because alternatives have the advantage of using composite materials to be lightweight, corrosion resistant and strong and can be designed as needed. One of the methods developed to manufacture composite polymers is resin infusion with vacuum assistance. This method is inversely compared to the non-vacuum method. The (VARI) process requires an airtight space in printing and can reduce the fouling effects that occur in non-vacuum processes such as causing a lack of optimal composite material properties. The Taguchi method is a methodology in the field of engineering which is very much aimed at improving a product quality in a time process while at the same time reducing costs and minimal resources. The Taguchi method is a product or process that is robust against noise, therefore this method is a robust design. In writing this research, I have experience in the process of making and researching carbon in body organization in the Mechanical Engineering University of Jember named Tawang Alun, here I will conduct research in analyzing the optimal parameters for the surface roughness characteristics of front cover products made of carbon fiber using a vacuum process. resin infusion aid. The factor that contributes the most to the surface roughness response is vacuum pressure with a contribution of 25.20%. For hardener factor contribution of 14.93% and coating factor of 23.77%. The contribution error that occurs is 36.09%. Each factor has a value contribution that is not too different. Based on the data and analysis results that have been obtained using the Taguchi method with the help of Minitab 19 and Microsoft Excel, it shows that the parameter of vacuum pressure has a significant influence on the results of surface roughness. While the hardener parameter has no significant effect on surface roughness, then the coating parameter has a significant effect on surface roughness. In the calculation of the F test, it can be concluded that the optimal factor parameters in making a front top with a small surface roughness value are 0.4 bar vacuum pressure, 60% hardener and PVAC coating. Abstract

Rolling resistance in bearings is rolling resistance in bearings that move rolling without sliding. The amount of rolling resistance force occurs depending on the magnitude of the coefficient of friction between the ball bearing and the outer and inner surfaces of the bearing. This research is in the form of testing the characteristics of rolling resistance values by experimental methods when given variations in rotational speed parameters and radial load variations. The results of research on single row deep groove ball bearing type 6000 with 207 Newton loading at 300 rpm rotation showed a rolling resistance value of 1.0823 Newton.
