Abstract

One alternative for designing earthquake-resistant structures is the Partial Capacity Design (PCD) method. Unlike the traditional capacity design method, which enforces a strong column weak beam to control side sway mechanism, PCD allows for a partial side sway mechanism. In this approach, all beams and some columns are permitted to experience plastic bending (KP), while the remaining columns are designed to stay elastic (KE). Over time, the PCD method evolved into the modified-PCD (M-PCD), which incorporates both linear and non-linear phases in structural analysis. This study examined a 6-story building with a square plan,where 30% of the columns remained elastic. The building's performance was evaluated through non-linear time history analysis using modified ground acceleration in line with the design spectrum response. Results indicated that the 6-story structure performed well overall, meeting regulatory requirements for collapse mechanism and drift. However, plastic hinge damage exceeded FEMA 273 standards.

Abstract

The 1994 Northridge earthquake caused significant damage to steel structure buildings, particularly at connections, with cracks frequently appearing in welded areas and, in severe cases, propagating to flanges and column webs. This study evaluates the behavior of Bolted Extended End-Plate (BEEP) connections under cyclic loading, comparing them to the experimental results of Shi et al. using ANSYS software. The evaluation focuses on moment capacity, rotational capacity, and failure modes. The result from Shi et al. showed moment and rotation capacities of 320.10 kN-m and 3.5%, respectively. Numerical results showed the moment and rotation capacity of 327.86 kN-m and 4.3%, with a margin of error of 2.37%. The failure modes in the numerical model are almost similar to the experimental results. Therefore, the assumption is that the parameters used are close to the values applied in the experimental testing. As a result, the numerical model has been validated by the experimental result.

Abstract

The conversion of land use in the JIIPE industrial area covering 1607 hectares has led to increased runoff coefficients and flood discharge. For this reason, flood control infrastructure is required, specifically the construction of boezem in zones 1, 2, and 3. The flood discharge calculations for the river use the HSS Nakayasu method (Q25). For regional flood discharge use the Rational method (Q25). In planning the dimensions and operational patterns of the boezem, it is based on inflow volume, land availability, and water levels of the Mireng River and Lamong Bay. The analysis results show that the storage volume for zone 1 is 120,229.96 m³, for zone 2 is 606,145.29 m³, and for zone 3 is 314,613.06 m³. The pump capacity of zone 1 is 3m3/sec, zone 2 is 10 m3/sec, and zone 3 is 5 m3/sec.

Abstract

Toll road construction often encounters geotechnical challenges due to soft soil conditions, which can significantly affect embankment stability, as observed on the Balikpapan–Samarinda Toll Road at STA 22+300, NSPT value is ≤ 6 up to a depth of 10 metres. This study aims to analyse the stability of the road embankment and determine an effective and efficient soil reinforcement solution. Slope stability analysis was performed using the finite element method with Plaxis 2D, while decision-making employed the pairwise comparison and simple additive weighting methods. The existing condition analysis revealed a factor of safety of 0.9852and a settlement of 32.02 cm. The combination of mini piles and geotextiles demonstrated the best performance, increasing the factor of safety to 1.552 and reducing settlement to 13.03 cm. With the highest decision-making preference weight of 0.8989, this alternative was identified as the optimal solution, offering adequate stability, relatively low settlement, and cost efficiency compared to the spun pile–geotextile combination.

Abstract

This study discussed the calculation of time and cost in the construction of the upper structure of apartment building using aluminum formwork. Aluminium formwork was chosen by consideration of its advantages in implementation time, quality, and cost. The use of aluminium formwork is suitable for use on typical floors as apartment building. In addition, aluminium formwork is coherent with green building concept. Planning begins by determined construction method, then proceeds with the calculation of quantity, productivity, duration and RAP. Scheduling was carried out using PDM and Microsoft Project. Based on scheduling and work weights, S-Curve was made. The calculation results obtained duration of Aluminium Formwork implementation is 70 working days with total cost of Rp. 14,238,023,01. In contrast, using conventional method shows total cost is Rp. 13,893,023,48 and the duration is 103 working days. The use of aluminium formwork is more expensive by Rp. 1,050,531,78 and the work process is faster than conventional.

Abstract

The construction of Dhoho Kediri Airport has altered land use in the Kolokoso Watershed, increasing flood risks. To mitigate this, a cutoff channel was proposed for the meandering river section. Hydrological analysis utilized the Log Pearson III distribution and Mononobe method for a 25-year return period. Effective rainfall was derived via the Alternating Block Method, and peak flood discharge was calculated at 0.829 m³/s using the SCS Unit Hydrograph. HECRAS 6.4.1 simulations modeled the implementation of three box culverts (4.8 m x 4.3 m). Results indicate a significant reduction in flood inundation area from 5.93 ha to 0.65 ha. Validation demonstrated high model accuracy, showing 89% agreement for water levels and98% for flow velocities.

Abstract

Banyumas Regency launched Trans Banyumas to create a public transport system with quality services. According to data from PT Banyumas Raya Transportasi, the number of passengers in Corridor I is less than other corridors. This study aims to evaluate Trans Banyumas Corridor I service based on passenger perceptions. The method uses Importance Performance Analysis (IPA) and Customer Satisfaction Index (CSI). The results of the IPA method research show a suitability level of 95.71% which is categorised as satisfied, while the CSI satisfaction value is 79.94% and is categorised as satisfied. The assessment results obtained 5 indicators that needed improvement and handling including, bus driver expertise and skills (X5), handrails on the bus (Hand Grip) (X6), bus passenger capacity (X11), ease of reaching the bus stop (X13), and priority seats (X15).

Abstract

Road infrastructure is one of the important facilities in supporting community mobility. Therefore, alternative fillers with PC filler, rice husk ash, and wood powder waste ash from kendang jimbe crafts in Blitar City need to be sought. This research aims to describe the characteristics and IKS values in the AC-WC mixture as viewed from the Marshall parameter results. This research was conducted by testing using Marshall test equipment. Test results show that with increasing asphalt content, stability value tends to rise until the asphalt content reaches 6%, then decreases until the asphalt content reaches 7%. The flow value tends to rise with increasing asphalt content, the VIM value tends to decrease as the asphalt content increases, the VMA value of PC filler and wood powder waste ash tends to decrease with increasing asphalt content, whereas the VMA value of rice husk ash filler tends to increase. The VFA value tends to rise with increasing asphalt content. IKS value of PC filler and rice husk ash meets specifications. However, IKS value of wood powder waste ash filler does not meet specifications.

Abstract

The At-Taawun Building, being constructed by Muhammadiyah University of Surabaya, is classified as a high-rise structure due to its 19 tower levels and 1 basement floor. The formwork for this project is based on the convenstional formwork system. Research findings indicate that the multiplex use maximum cycle will impact the fabrication and dismantling process, resulting in a longer times for the conventional method compared to the other approaches. In contrast, the phenolic film cycle and the formwork table's module shape allow for faster construction and disassembly. Based on the results of the analysis, reveal that completing the task with the table formwork approach would take 130 days, compared to 155 days with conventional methods. According to calculations, the conventional methode's implementation total cost comes as much as IDR21.598.777.449,93, while the total cost of table formwork method is IDR22.610.784.905,70

Abstract

Dams have benefits derived from large water reservoirs as a source of water. The larger the water source being stored, the greater the potential risk to communities downstream due to the failure or collapse of the dam structure. The majority of earth-fill dams experience collapse 35% of the time due to overtopping. Based on flood tracking, the Leuwikeris Dam experienced overtopping at +160.351. Collapse simulations of the dam were conducted using HEC-RAS 2D with the collapse parameter equations from the Froehlich 2008 method. The simulation results indicate that the dam collapse resulted in flooding covering an area of 189.2581 km²downstream of the Leuwikeris Dam
