Abstract

The development of information technology in the era of globalization has changed the order of people's lives, including in the field of marketing. Companies are now utilizing digital platforms, especially social media, to interact and influence consumers. One of the rapidly growing social media is Instagram, which is used by companies to promote their products or services. Trans Studio Bandung is an entertainment area in Bandung that actively uploads promotional content on Instagram social media accounts to attract visitors. This study aims to analyze the effect of promotional content published on the Instagram account @transstudio.bandung on the interest in buying tickets of its followers. Using cognitive response theory, which divides cognitive processes into thoughts about products, sources, and ad executions, this study examines how the audience's cognitive response to the content received can influence attitudes and purchase intention. This research examines whether audience engagement with Instagram content can increase interest in purchasing tickets. Using a quantitative approach, this study takes ticket purchase intention as the dependent variable and analyzes the influence of cognitive responses on purchase decisions. The results of this study are expected to provide a better understanding of the role of social media in marketing and the influence of promotional content on consumer behavior.

Abstract

This study discusses the business resilience strategies of local media, namely Ayo Media Network with its portal AyoBandung.com and BandungBergerak.id which have different business approaches during and after the 2024 political year amidst media disruption. The intense political issues in 2024 with the holding of legislative and presidential elections, as well as simultaneous regional head elections are the background for the resilience efforts of the two media to be able to survive and maintain the sustainability of their businesses, and how they will continue after the 2024 political year amidst the media disruption conditions that occur as a critical impact of the development of social media and changes in media audience consumption behavior. By using a qualitative research paradigm approach and case study method, this study highlights how organizational resilience and digital transformation are applied in the business strategies of the two local digital media. Through interviews, observations, and document analysis, the main findings of this study are the similarities between the two media in strategizing diverse revenue streams not only from advertising on their news portals. The difference is, Ayo Media Network relies on media service innovation to adjust to market needs and utilizes an integrated multiplatform network as a bargaining power for advertisers or clients. Meanwhile, BandungBergerak.id focuses on the quality of journalistic content by maintaining its independence, especially from political influence, and accompanies community movements by opening up revenue opportunities from businesses outside of advertising. This research provides insight into the sustainability of media, in this case local digital media that is not affiliated with political forces, to remain relevant and competitive in a media industry that is increasingly being eroded by disruption.

Abstract

This study explores the impact of digital communication competence on student–lecturer social interaction in LMS-based digital learning, using the Computer-Mediated Communication (CMC) theory. Employing a mixed-method approach (PLS-SEM and interviews), the study reveals a significant and positive influence of 35.8%. Despite students having strong digital skills, social interaction remains limited due to the LMS’s administrative focus. Qualitative findings emphasize the need for more interactive LMS features that support two-way communication. The study concludes that enhancing digital communication competence and optimizing LMS design within the CMC framework can effectively improve the quality of social interactions in digital learning environments

Abstract

This research aims to analyze media communication paradigm transformation through media convergence theory approach and identify its implications for mass communication structure to develop integrative theoretical framework. Employing qualitative approach with systematic literature study method, analyzing relevant academic literature through content analysis and thematic analysis using media convergence theory framework. Findings identify five pillars of digital mass communication paradigm transformation: technological convergence, industry transformation, production democratization, consumption personalization, and algorithmic mediation that shifts communication structure from one-to-many to many-to-many with audiences as active prosumers. Media convergence theory successfully explains digital mass communication paradigm transformation and requires adaptation of classical mass communication theories in digital context. Produces new integrative theoretical framework serving as foundation for digital mass communication research and practical guide for contemporary media paradigm transformation.

Abstract

This study investigates Kompas’ media framing of celebrity participation in the “Emergency Warning” movement in Indonesia. It employed a qualitative research approach using Entman’s four functions of framing: problem definition, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation (Entman, 1993).The analysis reveals that Kompas constructed a predominantly positive narrative around celebrities involved in the movement. Supportive celebrities were not only portrayed as entertainers, but also as moral agents and catalysts for civic action who are committed to defending democratic values. Meanwhile, those who remained neutral or silent were portrayed more critically. Such binary framing suggests that Kompas actively constructed a moral framework around the movement that guides audiences to view celebrity support as virtuous and disengagement as morally unacceptable. Additionally, selective emphasis on celebrities over other key opinion leaders suggests a strategic use of celebrity popularity to legitimize the movement and broaden its public appeal. This study concludes that Kompas used celebrity participation to justify the movement’s legitimacy, mobilize public sentiment, and contribute to the movement’s overall visibility and resonance. These findings highlight the influential role of media framing in shaping public discourse and civic action, particularly through the strategic deployment of celebrity voices.

Abstract

Stunting is a major health issue both nationally and globally. It is a condition where a child's growth is delayed due to chronic malnutrition, making the child too short for their age. In Indonesia, stunting has become a serious problem, and efforts are necessary to prevent cases of it. Following Presidential Regulation No. 42 of 2013 concerning the National Movement for Accelerating Nutrition Improvement, measures have been put in place to prevent stunting, with the government and community working together in coordination to enhance nutritional efforts. In a different context, this research examines issues related to implementing stunting prevention policies through policy advocacy. The aim is to increase support for these policies. This advocacy is multisectoral, involving multiple parties and cooperation across various sectors and levels of government in different regions. Data were collected through interviews, surveys, and document analysis. The findings are expected to contribute valuable insights to local governments and stakeholders in developing communication, outreach, and advocacy strategies for government policies on stunting management in Bejijong Village, Mojokerto Regency.

Abstract

This study examines the use of Metahuman AI technology in music concerts, with a case study of the virtual performance of Nike Ardilla at Synchronize Fest 2024. The main focus is to explore how the presence of metahumans as a new medium influences fan behavior and the dynamics of digital mass communication. This research employs a phenomenological approach (Schutz, 1967) using qualitative methods through in-depth interviews, observations, and social media content analysis of fans. The theoretical framework of this study refers to Digital Mass Communication Theory (McQuail, 2010), which emphasizes interactivity, virtuality, and media convergence; the concept of Mediated Presence (Couldry & Hepp, 2017), which views media as a social environment; and Convergence Culture (Jenkins, 2006), which explains the shifting relationship between media, technology, and audiences. The findings reveal that Metahuman AI serves not only as an entertainment medium but also as a collective identity construction that extends the digital existence of artists. This study shows that digital mass communication has shifted from merely transmitting information to becoming an immersive experiential space, where technology functions as both a cultural and emotional actor. Keywords: Metahuman AI, digital mass communication, phenomenology, fans, popular culture

Abstract

This study aims to analyze how framing is constructed through Ferry Irwandi’s YouTube account regarding the mastermind of the August 2025 riots and the discourse on the implementation of martial law in Indonesia. The study employs a qualitative approach using Robert N. Entman’s framing analysis model, which emphasizes four main elements: problem definition, causal interpretation, moral evaluation, and treatment recommendation. Data were obtained from the transcription of video content uploaded on Ferry Irwandi’s YouTube channel during the August–September 2025 period and were then analyzed in depth to reveal the construction of meaning. The findings show that the framing built by Ferry Irwandi tends to highlight certain political actors as the masterminds behind the riots, frames the riots as a threat to state stability, and directs public opinion toward supporting the implementation of martial law by the TNI. These findings suggest that the content serves not only as an information channel but also as a tool for shaping public opinion. This study is expected to contribute to the field of political communication studies, particularly in understanding the role of media framing in shaping public opinion on emerging political issues in the public sphere. Keywords: Framing Analysis, YouTube Content, Political Issues, Riots, Martial Law
