Abstract

Abstract This article is to understand, analyze and interpret the movement diametrically space between idealism and pragmatism transaksionalisme cultural anti middle class groups conducted by using sociological perspectives Imagination C. Wright Mills. This article tries to find that the room is diametrically between idealism and pragmatism that appeared in diametraletis middle class anti-culture transaksionalisme get that high integrity to break away from the role of private and public roles, venue selection in anti culture transaksionalisme so they choose a place that can accommodate their anti-mainstream and dare to get out of your comfort zone, to change the system, although the risk will become a person who alienated, unpopular and always in solitude space. Diametric between idealism and pragmatism and for groups in the area of anti-culture transaksionalisme lighter because dilemma ethical in the role of his own, while a group in the area of power and politics is heavier because some can only see and experience the shock remarkable to stress but do not have the power to report it, some others even splashed in the cultural world transaksionalisme. Keywords: Idealism, Pragmatism, diametraletis, sociological imagination

Abstract

This paper tried to give an in-depth critical view on the Kecap ABC Real Husband Cooks Campaign. The campaign tried to tackle the issues within Hill Asean Reports on Gender Inequality in the Domestic Sphere by encouraging men’s participation in the kitchen. The campaign, though were highly praised to be considered as progressive and pro-equality, also send message of pseudo-empowerment within their Neoliberal Feminist message regarding women’s position in the domestic sphere. This paper founds three issues in related to the topic: first is how this campaign fails to eliminate the stereotype of women as weak and dependent towards men although they tried to present women and men as independent. Second, the campaign over simplify gender inequality and went with the neoliberal feminist understanding on individualization of understanding and defining an issue. Last, by putting men in the kitchen will give a message that men are willing and committed to participate in a pro-equality movement but in reality, it is not more than just a pseudo-empowerment created from adding domestic work as a skill. Abstract

AbstractThe research aims to know (1) interaction limit for woman at office with married man according to wives and (2) kinds of the excessive interactions according to wives. This research was used qualitative descriptive method with research location runed at Makassar and Semarang City. Data used for this were primary and secondary data. Total informants are twenty, where ten came from Makassar and another ten from Semarang City. Data collection were done by interviewed with those twenty informants, then being analysed with two theories such as Symbolic Interactionism Theori and Atribution Theori. Research showed that several things a husband and female coworkers should not do like (1) do not chat or discussing things out of work hours or things not related to work, not allowed to go out together, not allowed to do intense communication, not allowed to contact physically like holding hands, etc. (2) excessive interactions were answered 15% for confide, 25% answered contact physically, 25% answered go out together, 10% answered chat in the night late, and 20% answered intense talk as the kinds of excessive interactions according to wives.  Keywords :  Excessive Interaction, Husband, Marriage

Abstract

This study aims to determine the role of the Erau Festival through local wisdom in an effort to strengthen social identity in the new adaptation era. Kutai Kartanegara Regency has a variety of cultures that live side by side, in harmony and peace. There are many ethnic groups who live in Kutai Kartanegara Regency and still carry their culture of origin, including Sumatra, Java, Sulawesi, Kalimantan to Nusa Tenggara. The number of immigrants is increasing over time, it is estimated that someday the number of immigrants will exceed the original population. Although the number of immigrants in Kutai Kartanegara Regency is quite large, their presence does not change the role of local culture that has been deeply rooted in the people of Kutai Kartanegara Regency. This study uses a qualitative approach with descriptive methods. Data obtained through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results showed that: (1) the relevance of local wisdom to strengthening social identity because the value of local wisdom is not an obstacle in the era of globalization, but is a major force in building regional social identity; (2). Abstract

Abstract The use of digital media is no longer dominated by adults. It has also become a part of children who are born as digital natives. This condition is certainly a challenge for parents because it is not possible to keep their children away from digital technology which offers various benefits. Therefore we need adults who are able to provide assistance to children in utilizing digital media. This article reveals how the patterns of parenting (in this case mothers) to children in utilizing digital media, what are the challenges faced and how to deal with these challenges. To answer this question, a qualitative descriptive approach was used. The informants who are the main data sources are working women and housewives who have children aged under five to 18 years, who are selected from the owners of active Facebook accounts (who in July uploaded their status, photos or other information). The findings of the study indicate that there are three patterns of mentoring, which were carried out by the informants, namely democratic-negotiation, permissive and protective. Parental Negotiative-Democratic Assistance allows the child to use the device, but there are negotiations, the child is invited to discuss, to determine when to hold the device, when to stop. Parental permissive assistance frees the child to use a device. Child protective assistance is given the opportunity to exist by having an Instagram account but is strictly controlled by parents. Key words: digital native, mentoring, digital media, digital literacy.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the representation of gender identity on the live streaming game platform Twitch.tv. Gender performative theory assumes that humans produce identity, including gender through appearance or self-expression. At Twitch, basically communication takes place using an online medium. Streamers are given the freedom to represent their gender identity by creating content that can be seen by the public. This study uses a qualitative approach and uses Roland Barthes's semiotic analysis to determine the representation of identity displayed on verbal and nonverbal messages. The results are (1) Representation of feminine gender identity is shown by giving more personal information on the main page with words that indicate closeness rather than masculine; (2) Representation of feminine gender identity is shown by better maintaining relationships with audiences with personal conversations and telling in detail with the audience at the opening and closing of streaming content where masculine is more minimal; (3) Representation of feminine gender identity is shown by being more responsive to the ideas of the audience by providing space so that the audience can participate in communicating with streamers rather than masculine; (4) Representation of feminine gender identity is shown by being gentle in criticizing fellow gamers; (5) Representation of feminine gender identity is shown by emphasizing the tone of voice, maintaining eye contact to emphasize expression rather than masculine; (6) The selection of different artifacts according to gender identity in the form of choosing the color of clothes, type of clothes, dominance of the profile layout, background decoration and game characters presented.

Abstract

X Company is one of the financial companies in Indonesia that has strategy of external employer branding in the form of internship program. The internship of X Company targets students also campuses as potential employees. This strategy done to shaping and establishing corporate brand associations through several tactis that described deeper in the following research. This research is a descriptive qualitative research with a case study method. Methods for data collection was carried out through participatory observation, digital literature studies, and interviews with four resources as the implementer of internship program. The results of this study indicate that the internship of X Company has several tactics in the implementation. Those tactics such as the concept of Career Development, activity of introduction, the concept of Career Partner, and economic value factors. Finally, strategy of internship in X Company shape and establish brand associations by involving cognitive, conative, affective aspects as well as functional associations and emotional associations.  Keywords: strategy, employer branding, internship, brand associations

Abstract

AbstractThis article was written in order to describe the preservation of cultural spatial assets in support of one of the pillars of the city of Bogor, which imagines the city as a Heritage City. Based on the results of research on the image of the city of Bogor as a place (place branding), the city tourism often offers historical heritage from various times. The Bogor City Government seems to see the superiority of this heritage as an asset to increase their own local income. The qualitative data of this study were obtained from a review of archives and policy documents, reinforced by quantitative data collected through questionnaires to the Bogor community regarding the spatial heritage assets in their city. The results showed that through the form of primary communication in the form of landscape strategies, infrastructure, and cultural behavior, people feel well the stimuli of their city which can image their city as a Heritage City. This is supported by the implementation of policies contained in the Regional Medium Term Development Plan which includes the revitalization of historical sites, strengthening of footpaths around the Bogor Botanical Gardens, and holding various events based on Indonesian national culture.Keywords: spatial communication, place naming, city naming, heritage city

Abstract

This study examines the influence of organizational communication on employee performance at PT. Feva Indonesia. Organizational communication has an important meaning in delivering messages within the scope of the organization. One of the organizational behaviors in which there is the delivery of person and information connecting aspects. Good communication fluency depends on a person's ability to communicate and communicate it. The problems that occur are because the communication process is not going well so that information from superiors to employees can cause a misunderstanding because the information conveyed is not understood. With good organizational communication, it is hoped that employee performance will also increase, because it is not an easy thing to improve employee performance. This type of quantitative research uses the total population of employees of PT. Feva Indonesia. Researchers have a role as key informants of 70 employees. The total population is less than 100 people, taken 70 respondents or total sampling. The research conclusion is that organizational communication variables have a significant effect on company performance.Keywords: organizational communication, employee performance

Abstract

AbstractThis research focuses on the management issue of communism in the Nasakom framework through the policies  and patterns of political communication of President Soekarno's government. This issue was used by Soekarno since the 1959 Presidential Decree. The solution implemented by Soekarno unwittingly opened a space for political communication in the middle way. Compromise management style is used to suppress conflicts that occur between interests. The method used in this study is the historical method. The results showed that the approach adopted by President Soekarno could not be separated from Communism. Even though it seemed to unite all the ideologies that were developing at that time, in fact there was a very sharp political competition between factions. This then led to the events of 30 September and the emergence of a new order. This research is part of a broader study to examine the management of communism issues in every political regime in Indonesia. Keywords: Nasakom, Issue Management, Communism, Literature Study
