Abstract

Hotel is a bussiness utilizing a building equipped with facilities which are specially provided for theneeds of everybody who will stay or spend the night with adequate services and in return there arecharges for the services obtained. These things will also determine how many stars it deserves. The morestars achieved the better the image shown to the people. Therefore there's a certain division responsiblein building image for the company related, known as Public Relations. But does every company haveone? One of the starred hotels in Surabaya, Launched in july 1st 2013 with its one of a kind designand location is The Ibis Budget. It's where you'll find every rooms adapting the concept of design cocoonroom (which has won the hotel room design competition in Europe) and it's also located in a uniqueplace, none other than inside the Terminal 1 of Juanda International Airport. Another intriguing thingabout The Ibis Budget is its organizational structure that shows no sign of Public Relations. Neverthelessit seems that many people are still interested on the image it builds by itself. According to SS and EA,there are four components that needs to be done and determines the company image: cognition,perception, attitude, and motivation (S, 2003). And after this qualitative descriptive research is donethrough interview and field observation, the datas collected concludes that the Sales Manager only runsthree out of the four components (which are cognition, perception, and motivation) and there's no suchdivision as Public Relations. Abstract

Perception is a stimulus that is perceived by the individual, organized and then interpreted so thatthe individual realizes and understands what is perceived. In other words perception is a process thatinvolves the entry of messages or information into the human box. Perception is called the core ofcommunication because if individual perceptions are inaccurate, then the individual is not likely tocommunicate effectively. Perceptions that determine the individual to choose a message and ignore theother message. The research with the title of perception of Surabaya society about advertisement of "taxbenefit" in television is a research which aims to know how perception of advertisement. This study useddescriptive qualitative. From the research conducted, perception is negative. This can be known fromsome interviews that were asked to informants, most informants stated disagree. But there's still a smallpercentage who have an unfavorable perception of "tax benefit" ads on television, because ads areconsidered to get support in the advertising process. Everything presented in the ad. From the results ofresearch that has been obtained then the advice given to advertisers "tax benefits" on television. Showingexaggerated imagery that is advertised because it can be a bad impression to the advertised.Keywords: perception, advertising, taxes, mass media

Abstract

The development of internet technology create various changes occurring on the community, thechanges is social changes, behavior, and norms sex. Researchers want to find information from teenagerssurabaya especially the youth sitting on the bench college an undergraduate degree how style date them,About their attitude in receipt of sex before marriage, Does happen deviate behavior, And change a normsex when they saw resident of sites on the net. The kind of research use is quantitative with correlation tofind relations. Through this research to know how influence impressions pornomedia the internet onchanges in norms and teenagers sex in Surabaya. This research result indicates that any impactpornomedia internet impressions of the changes norms and teenagers sex. However impressionspornomedia is not the only factor of change the norms and normal sexual behavior teenagers insurabaya. Because, there are other factors which also coloring the occurrence of a change the norms andsexual behavior teenagers in surabaya. Abstract

JTV is one of the first local television that carries the local culture, the program'smost inviting attention is Pojok Kampung. Suroboyoan news presentation uses languageraises the pros and cons in eastern Java community. because by some consider thelanguage used is too rough. As for the purpose of this study to analyze the effect of thenews is there any Pojok kampung in JTV to changes in speech tribal family of Java afterviewing pojok kampung, as well as to analyze the impact. Research conducted in thevillages Nginden stilts Javanese ethnic backgrounds with a duration of study 1 June2016-2 July 2016. Mechanical analysis using simple linear regression analysis. From theanalysis and discussion can be concluded that the news shows the pojok kampung inJTV significant and positive impact on the changes in speech-language, The effect showsthat the better the language used in news presentation the better pojok kampung ininfluencing the spoken word in the language. according to the results in the field thatshowed less good words to say on the news shows the pojok kampung in JTV will be ableto give unfavorable influence also on changes in speech-language within the family orcommunityKeywords : pojok kampung, speech, language style

Abstract

NET 10 is a one of news program, that’s also give a lot of information goingaround the people who’s in through Citizen Journalism segments. People who’s seeingthe interested things can record it and then just upload to the NET.CJ, and the last thebest video will showing at Citizen Journalism segment on NET 10. Based on these, theauthors are interested to take title “The Effect Of NET 10 Show For The IncreasedInterest Of Student To Become A Citizen Journalism”. This study used a quantitativeresearch methods with data retrieval technique using a questionnaire distributed to 63students of communication science class 2015 as research samples. The data analysisusing SPSS to test the validity, reliability, correlation coeficient test, coeficient andsimple linear test, regression analysis techniques. There are two variables : X variables(NET 10 Show) and Y variables (The Increased Interest of Student). Analysis of theresult is concluded that the study result are significant and have a sufficient correlationwhere the correlation result showed the number 0,303 with significant value 0,016 <0,05. Based on the results of this analysis, the impressions NET 10 (X variables) is hasenough to effect the increased interest of student.Keyword : NET 10 show, interest, Citizen Journalism.

Abstract

This research aims to find out the communication process between teacher andstudent in handling student misbehavior involving homeroom teacher, one other teacher,and ten students of VI A class who often misbehave. Using the interpersonalcommunication theory of Devito, this researcher collects the data through observation,deep interview, and documentation study. This research results that the interpersonalcommunication between teacher and student has effectively worked. However, there aresome barriers experienced by teachers particularly when students are afraid of facingtheir teacher. Therefore, they tend to be less open to their teacher. Besides, seen from theempathy, teachers and students have supportive and positive attitude and good equality.It is concluded that the interpersonal communication between teacher and student in SDNKeputih 245 Surabaya has effectively worked. This interpersonal communication canlead to increase the interpersonal relationship between teacher and student.Key words: interpersonal communication, student misbehavior, handling studentmisbehavior, effective interpersonal communication.

Abstract

Among the programs shown by television stations, sporting events is a program that manyshown by private television stations. Fishing Mania one of them, an exercise program that aired onTrans 7. Fishing Mania is the only program in Indonesia which tells the good fishing activities at seaand in rivers. The activities of writer wanted to know how students' perceptions of SocialCommunication Sciences University August 17, 1945 Surabaya on Fishing Mania events in Trans 7.With the aim to describe the perception of students of Social Communication Sciences UniversityAugust 17, 1945 Surabaya on impressions and the credibility of the presenter after watching FishingMania Trans 7. This is a descriptive study with a quantitative approach, where researchers collectedprimary data that is distributing questionnaires to 40 respondents. The object of research is thestudents of Social Communication Sciences University August 17 1945 Surabaya force from 2013 to2016 who has ever watched the show Fishing Mania. From the results obtained in this study, 76% ofrespondents expressed positive about Fishing Mania. Fishing Mania respondents considered the showcan be entertaining and provide knowledge about the profession or the world of broadcasting TVBroadcasting.Keywords: Perception, Professional Broadcasters, Mass Communication.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the development of the spread of symbols of satanism in the modern era that mushroomed in various mass media, especially video clips to give and deliver messages. One of the top bands named Dewa 19 has symbols associated with symbols of satanism and spread the symbol through the media video clips of the songs of God 19. The focus of this study is the meaning of video clip symbols scattered on each video clip kara band Dewa 19. The theory used is Charles Sanders Peirce Semiotics theory which has a triadic model and trichotomy concept consisting of Representamen, interpretant, and object. The research method used in this research is qualitative research with descriptive type. The results of the research found that the meaning of the symbols scattered in each of the video clips of the band Dewa 19 is the result of the symbolic representation of satanism, among others: Horus's Eye, Pyramid Terpanchung, Chessboard Chess, Photo of Satan Church Founder, God Ra, ANKH SymbolKeywords: semiotics, satanism, Dewa 19, symbols.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the importance of coordination and cooperation between theDisporabupar Sidoarjo regency with relevant parties in the implementation of promotional activitiesto introduce the Dermo Temple travel on public or tourists, both local, national, to international. TheDermo Temple is one of the historical heritage of Majapahit kingdom whose existence has been awhile but have not been exposed so well that needed effective communication strategy to restoretourists’ interest in travel the Dermo temple. The problem of this research is “How is theCommunication Strategy Disporabudpar Sidoarjo Regency in introducing Dermo Temple travel?”, inorder to determine the communication strategy Disporabudpar Sidoarjo in introducing Dermo Templetravel by using the theory of Communication Mix..But in practice Sidoarjo Regency Disporabudparnot maximize elements in Communication Mix for the implementation of promotional activities thatmay help the Disporabupar Sidoarjo district in introducing Temple Dermo travel. Abstract

This study aims to see how the communication barrier on the outside Java dispersed abroadstudents at the University of Surabaya August 17, 1945, in adapting when faced of culture shock.Culture Shock is a social phenomenon experienced by immigrants when relocate and inhabit areaswith different cultures. This study uses the concepts and theories of Intercultural Communication. Thisstudy uses a snowball and purposive sampling method in selecting informant, and then analyzed byusing interactive analysis. In this study, known any obstacles in communicating to different cultures,and the factors that become such inhibitors, as well as a supporting factor for student immigrants toremain in the overseas. Target is the students immigrants in UNTAG Surabaya, in order to adapt tothe other students and can unify the existing differences.Keywords: Barriers to communication, adaptation, intercultural communication
