Abstract

The Background of this research begins from the existence of a “Movement Record the City”. Movement which was initiated by Gresik Movie aimsto invite the Gresi community to participate in maintaining the sustainability of the city by recording anything that has artistic and historical value in the city of Gresik. Considering that many other things that continue to dissaper and change from the city of Gresik make the Gresik Movie community want to invite the public to preserve this beloved city. Before it’s too late and become the story, would that to answer the formulation issue in this study that was message contained in the documentary video “Movement Record the City” the work of Gresik Movie. A theory used n ths study s the theory of semiotics of the social codes of television John Fiske. Research method, the type of research used was qualitative descriptive study, the primary data source in the form of the original video “Movement Record the City” obtained from the Gresik movie youtube channel. The results showed that the meaning of the government Gresik more likely to use the ideology of capitalism, it is supported by the many of existing developments un the city of Gresik. But the government Gresik another thing about the ideology indeed Gresik cling to region, this is demonstrated by the many of development of the industrial sector and forget the religious development. The change in orientation of the community and the regional government of Gresik was criticalized and reminded of the way “the video was removed”. This disappearance represent the power of domination of business investors and industry players who are doing development in the industrial sector as well as bullying the religious culture of santri.Keyword: semiotic, ideology, culture

Abstract

Intercultural communication is an unavoidable thing in the globalization era. Based on this fact, Non Government Organization Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya has a specific purpose to deliver intercultural learning through intercultural programs. However, to attract the target public, which is high school students has several obstacles. This research discusses about Public Relations Strategy of Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya, by using Public Relations Mix theory as a tool of analyzing the data. Moreover, this research is using qualitative method and descriptive approach. Data collection is done by conducting interviews and observing the system of Public Relations strategy in Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya.It was found a new fact during the research, Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya has changed several things in their Public Relations strategy, due to the expansion of public targets. The new strategy is to make a Roadshows program to schools outside Surabaya that has no information about Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya yet. Besides the Roadshow progam, as the first goal of Bina Antarbudaya chapter Surabaya also still doing publications that very dependent on the power of social media, especially Instagram, Direct Approach also still implemented by carry out routine activities as one of a way to show organizational existence and to reach their target for high school students' interest in participating in the Intercultural Program.Keywords: intercultural program, non government organization, public relations

Abstract

This study aims to examine and analyze the effect of organizational communication on employee performance in Surabaya factory branch. Data collection was carried out through questionnaires and carried out on 90 employees at Richeese Factory located in Surabaya namely Richeese Factory Royal Plaza, Masqueion Square Richeese Factory, Richeese Factory Cito, Richeese Factory Spazio, Richeese Factory Plaza Surabaya and Richeese Factory Tunjungan Plaza 2. The sampling technique in this study was total sampling. Data analysis in this study uses SPSS version 24. This study uses hypothesis testing with ordinal regression method. Before being tested with this method the researcher conducted a descriptive analysis, validity test and reliability. Based on the parameter estimate table, organizational communication variables are 8,213 with sig. 0,04 (<0,05). If the significance level obtained is less than 0.05, then the variable regression coefficient is significant, and states that the independent variable is significant in influencing the dependent variable. The results of the analysis show that organizational communication has a significant positive effect on employee performance.Keywords: Organizational Communication, Organizational Communication Performance, Employee Performance, Leadership Style

Abstract

Mass media has a very important role in disseminating information, news, and knowledge to the public. Social media is a new medium that is now the most widely used by the public. Instagram is one of the many social media available. Social media has now switched functions where the main function is to communicate, switch functions that are used to express anger, say hate (hate spech), cyber bullying, Cybercrime even to the problem of racial intolerance. There are not many other cases in Instagram social media users who violate the code of ethics and violate the ITE Law. There is not much to the point of legal problems. Therefore, to prevent the negative impact, Instagram social media users should understand and implement the ethics of communication. From this problem the researcher aims to find out how the Ethical Violations of Instagram Social Media News (Rohingnya Ethnic Koflik). This research is descriptive with a qualitative approach. Where researchers collect secondary data because researchers cannot find data directly from the first source. Where this data is in the form of seven photos analyzed using theory of utilizationism, code of ethics (policy Instagram), Law on ITE. From the results obtained in this study, users violated Instagram policies and the code of ethics has sadism and violence content. As for Instagram policy, and this ITE law is in accordance with the principle of Utilitarism, which is to produce the greatest possible consequences for the worst consequences. The effect of this theory of utilitarianism makes injustice to other Instagram social media users.Keywords: Instagram, Ethics, ITE Law, Code of Ethics, Rohingnya Ethnicity.

Abstract

Research seems to aim to find out the influence of the Modern Momsh program on the television station Trans7with the pololawasuhw democratic. The results showed the influence of the Trans7 Modern Mom variable on democratic parenting in housewives which was shown from the sig t test value under the real 0.05 rate, which means that there was a significant effect of Modern Moms impressions on the democratic parenting of research respondents. Correlation test results indicate a relationship of 0.896 which means there is a relationship of 89.6% of Modern Moms shows with democratic parenting.Based on the results of the study, it appears that television, especially the modern film, can give influence to viewers, so that it can be concluded that television is an effective medium in influencing viewers.Keywords: democratic parenting, impressions, cultivation

Abstract

Indonesian people in each region have a wealth of local knowledge commonly referred to as local wisdom. The long-term goal of this research is to preserve and preserve local knowledge which is still relevant today. Traditional methods like this, in addition to obtaining benefits in their respective fields can also create harmony and unity among citizens. Because, local wisdom as one of the nation's adhesive tools in addition to the lack of harmony in society today. Communication ethics is a formal object and disaster mitigation in the “temanten kucing” tradition of Tulungagung is a material object. The method used in this study is hermeneutics by conducting a literature review to achieve the target. The results obtained are the understanding of heuristics by placing, description, interpretation, internal coherence and historical continuity so as to obtain a new synthesis that in this tradition there is a teleological-utilitarian content that is full of social and political nuances. Communication is done for the realization of a harmonious social climate and has a special character in creating certain goals. It can be concluded that communication ethics in the “temanten kucing” tradition contains certain values of teleological ethics (aiming) to lead the masses. This ceremony is aimed at goals (telos) values of wisdom and unity.Keywords: communication ethics, local wisdom, disaster mitigation

Abstract

Tourism of a particular area that has been wrestled with local wisdom can become a tourism commodity in the field of promotion, that it can be sold as an attraction for a tourist attraction to the community. If a local wisdom is packaged in a form of tourism communication, it can be one of the elements of the formation of a local branding from a particular region. This research seeks to understand more about a local socio-cultural aphorism in the Carangwulung region, Jombang. Researchers wanted to know a complete and clear picture of a social phenomenon. Local wisdom in managing tourism in Carangwulung Village requires a strong commitment between various parties to obtain mutual welfare. Through the tourism management multileps model, effective communication is established in the management of tourism potential in Carangwulung Village. The bottom up system is run as a way to increase tourism based on local wisdom. Abstract

Term “Confrontative Communication” popular in Indonesia when the election of Governor ofJakarta at 2012. In that year, one candidate often talk intimidation people and his competitor withusing sarcastic sentence, for example “If you will not choose Betawi man, please out from Jakarta orI will disarm your facilities included your KTP (kartu tanda penduduk, identification card)”.Confrontative Communication different with Confrontation Communication in medical work which isdone by doctor or nurse. Confrontative Communication is a part of coersive communication which isused in political communication. Every candidate use confrontative communication to defeatcompetitor; among them use it each other.Now, in the politics year for winning the election especially president election, confrontativecommunication without controlled by politics ethics tends to be used in political communication. Abstract

This study discusses how the communication strategies carried out in the Bawean Island tourism suprastructure to promote the local tourism potential of Bawean Island and the use of the media to promote the local tourism potential. The suprastructure elements include ideas, thoughts, people's philosophy of life manifested in rules, institutions and attitudes the daily lives of the Bawean people in addressing the development of tourism in their area. This study employs 9 aspects of tourism communication refering to Bungin (2016). Of the eleven local tourism objects studied, as well as in-depth interviews with the Gresik Regency Tourism Official, it was found that there were communication gaps in promotional activities and the use of media to communicate the local tourism potential of Bawean Island mainly due to a lack of common understanding of tourism communication strategy. This gap resulted in not only the decline in the number of visitors to Bawean Island in some particular destination, but also worsen the local tourism potential of Bawean Island, especially in some basic facilities such as tourism information and cleanliness of tourist destination area, as well as the lack of development of the creative industry as a carrying capacity of tourism communication.Keywords: tourism communications, local potential, Bawean

Abstract

Culture and Indonesia is a thing that will never loose. But cultures that abounds in its development especially in the digital era and the current globalization as pushed the waning cultural premises in indonesia specially in younger generations. It would certainly be the task of the Government as the driving force in cultural preservation efforts. One of the local culture that needs to be preserved is a saronen musical culture derived from the Regency of Sumenep Madura. Based on the phenomenon of researchers interested in knowing the strategies of communication in Cultural preservation Saronen To the younger generation in Sumenep. As for the research methods using a descriptive qualitative approach with data collection techniques of observation, interview and documentation study. The results in this study demonstrate the communication strategy undertaken by the Department of culture, tourism, youth and sports festival by using Sumenep Regency as a medium in the delivery of cultural preservation efforts to saronen generation Young's been right on target.Key Word: Communication Strategy, Saronen Cultural Preservation, The Younger Generation
