Abstract

The loss of one individual in the family can be a cause of the formation of a child's character is less than optimal and this incident is often the case in the family of Indonesian workers. But not all children who grow up in the family of Indonesian workers have a bad character, because there are still families who can form their children to grow with good character even though they have to lose one parent to work. The purpose of the study is: (1) To find out the role of the family in forming character in the families of migrant workers in the Ngumpul Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency, (2) To find out the supporting factors and inhibiting factors of character formation in the families of migrant workers in the Ngumpul Village, Balong District, Ponorogo Regency.From the results of the research researchers found that there are family roles in shaping the character of families of migrant workers.these roles are : 1) Embedding religious values, 2) getting used to doing good, 3) being an example and replacing the position of the mother, 4) giving assignments, 5) instilling the nature of independence, 6) inviting discussion. The attitudes held by educators in thefamilies of migrant workers in character building efforts are: 1) patient, 2) sincere, 3) firm, 4) openness between family members.Supporting factors in character building in the families of migrant workers are: 1) home environment, 2) school environment, 3) work environment, 4) community environment.

Abstract

In an educational institution, there were goals in realizing a quality education. The quality of the school could be seen from the results of the education. Moreover, it could be seen on the quality of  principals, teachers, and students.  In this case, KMI's as an educational institution play an important role in increasing teacher professionalism. Therefore, the school had an effort to improve the professionalism of teachers. In this study, researchers conducted a study in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor after making several observations in the cottage. this institution had two activities, namely academic and non-academic. From the results, it could be found that KMI's had an effort to improve teacher professionalism such training and orientation, ta'hil,learning assignments examination of learning units, education supervision, checking achievement of targets teaching by examining student records. In addition, KMI also conducted Upgrading and Orientation by gathering new teachers and  giving an understanding  to the education and learning system. Learning Tasks: their application by requiring teachers to become active students and providing supporting facilities related to developing knowledge. Examination Teaching materials: require the teacher to make teaching materials   that will be ratified by the teacher who serves as picket of Shaykh Diwan. Supervision in Learning: guiding the teacher from the start the teacher prepares teaching materials to how the teacher evaluates students. Checking Achievement of KBM Targets the quality of teaching and learning by examining student records: by requiring all teaching teachers to check the writing every week  before the test is conducted.

Abstract

Structure of the KMI (Kulliyyatul Muallallin al-Islamiyyah) curriculum includes the Islamic studies subjects group, Arabic studies subjects group, and the general sciences subjects group. KMI's curriculum tends to the model of subject academic and technologic curriculum.Guidance and Counseling for Santri who are responsible for non-formal education, its curriculum structure relates to the self expression or self-actualization for the development of life skills, both soft skills and hard skills. The Guidance and Counseling for Santri’s curriculum tends to the humanistic and social reconstruction curriculum model.The integrated management of the curriculum in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor is to conserve an equal balance of general education and religious education, active Arabic and English learning methods, and a disciplined boarding system; by using a holistic knowledge paradigm. All managerial functions of the KMI curriculum and Guidance and Counseling for Santri’s curriculum are intended to design the graduate as an ‘ulama and intellectuals, as the glue of ummah; as the intellectuals-‘ulama, not intellectuals who knows a little thing of religion; all graduate’s competencies are reflected in the mottoes: the noble character, sound body, broad knowledge, and independent mind.Management of curriculum integration of KMI and Guidance and Counseling for Santri design a beautiful configuration and symbiotic mutualism in reaching the goals of Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor.

Abstract

It is the fact that the Qur’an is the word of God, which wa delivered by the Prophet Muhammad, as a guide for humans in organizing their lives, the world and the hereafter. The purpose of this day is to: 1) reveal the importance of learning Waqf in Tafseer Ibn Katsir in surah Al-‘Alaq verses 1-5. In the interpretation of surah Al-‘Alaq verses 1-5 during the interpretation of Ibn Katsir and Al-Misbah. According to Ibn Katsir by carrying out the learning process humans, will obtain knowledge. It is necessary to discuss, to develop knowledge and to conduct investigations on all that is not known and know. By ‘ilm (knowledge), Allah elevate human degrees, 2) According to Tafseer Al Misbah, Islam instructs humans to learn from written and oral texts and everything that comes from Allah and humans that was equipped with the intention of devotion to God. 3) The similiarity: Tafseer Ibn Katsir and Al-Misbah agreed that reading is important in human life. This is the key to science. Learning is an obligation for humans because after the learning process comes from new science unless he knows, and science raises God. The difference point was: Ibn Katsir explained the verses of Qur’an is in brief. Besides, Ibn Katsir stated the history of ayat with the essential of knowledge in the human life. Tafseer Al Misbah the verses of Qur’an separately. Moreover, he enclosed the statement of other mufasirin.

Abstract

Riyadlul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Wadda’wah Condong was one of the Islamic educational institutions that focused on Qur'anic learning. This institution strives to increase the students’ ability to read the Qur'an's students by teaching the Qur'an. Therefore, the instructors have applied special learning models in the teaching and learning process. For this reason, the researchers tried to analyze whether there was an influence on the Quantum Teaching learning model that was used towards the quality of the reading of the Qur'anic students. This research used experimental research (true experiment design) in which the hypothesis in this study was the application of Quantum Teaching learning models. Furthermore, it also analyzed  the appropriate methods that significantly influence the students’ ability of in Riyadlul Ulum Wadda'wah Islamic Boarding School in reaching good reading al -Qur'an (tartil). In collecting data, researchers used the test method, and documentation. Moreover, to analyze the data collection, researchers used an independent formula sample t-test. The most important result of this study was the implementation or application of the Quantum Teaching learning model has a significant influence on the quality of students' Qur’an reading after the trial process. This was proven by a significant increase in the value of the difference between the control class 79, 7 and experimental value 87.76. Therefore, the Quantum Teaching learning model was able to facilitate the teachers in teaching students and to help the students to achieve the goal of teaching al-quran.

Abstract

Discipline is the most important element and the most effective means in the education process in Islamic Boarding Schools in order to shape the character and mental discipline of the students. In this case, the role of the teacher as a leader in determining strategies, choosing methods, and various approaches to achieve the goals that have been previously planned, namely to form the mental discipline of santri. Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor For Girls Campus 2 gives great attention to the discipline of 5th grade students, because even though they are already big and become administrators of hostel. This study aims to describe and explain 1) the efforts of Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor For Girls Campus 2 in shaping mental class 5 discipline based on behavioristic theory, 2) factors that support and inhibit 5th grade students in obeying discipline. The design used in this study is a descriptive qualitative research design. To achieve these objectives the researcher used 3 methods, namely the observation method, interview method and documentation method. From the analysis data, it has been found that the effort of Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor For Girls Campus 2 in shaping the mental discipline of 5th grade students is provide penalties and rewards, provide advice for 5th grade students who do not deter punishment, habit, modeling, awaken to the importance of discipline for 5th grade students who repeatedly violate discipline, supervision. Factors supporting class 5 students obeying discipline are a. self-awareness, b. mandate, c. become an example for its members, d. punishment.

Abstract

The existence of learning was expected to change attitudes and behavior of a personin several aspects such knowledge, skills, even to the attitude of his personality. Learning with sincerity will bring good change so that the learning activity of students could increase rapidly. One of learning strategy in increasing student activity is peer lesson. The purpose of this study aimed: 1) to explain the increasing of learning activity by peer lesson in tajweed lesson in class VII in Sulamul Huda Siwalan. (2) To explain the increasing learning result of peer lesson strategy in tajweedl esson in class VII  Sulamul Huda Siwalan. The type of research was Classroom Action Research (PTK) to improve the process and results the quality of learning. Researchers collected data in the form of questionnaires, observations, tests, and interviews. The results of this study indicated that: (1) The implementation of the strategy peer lesson could increase the learning activity of students in the first cycle, most of the students included in the high category reached 73.91% of the total students, then increased in the second cycle reached 86.96% of the total number of students. (2) The implementation of the strategy peer lesson could increase student learning result in the second cycle of students who were classified as complete in learning totaling 18 students or 78.26% of the total number of students, that compared to the first cycle has increased by 10 students or 43, 58% of the total number of students. Based on the research, the researcher expects for the teacher to apply the strategy peer lesson in the learning process to take place.

Abstract

Humans are social creature. They cannot live alone and always need help and support from others, as well as in community life. Civilizations won’t be formed without any action of supporting and helping each other. Moreover, humans contradict each other and disagree with one another. Because they have different opinions in their moral education, habits, and nature. According to Surah Yunus verse 19 that: “And mankind was not but one community [united in religion], but [then] they differed. And if not for a word that preceded from your Lord, it would have been judged between them [immediately] concerning that over which they differ”. Therefor, a human being should have good characters in associating with others, so he needs community education in order to be able to socialize well. One of the goals of education and teaching in Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor is “community-relation”. Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor gives special attention to public education in all matters, academic and non-academic activities. Thus, Pondok Modern Darussalam Gontor established many useful activities to build students’ character, such as scouting. It has many goals and aims, one of them is to help teenagers to improve themselves, body, spirit, sense, and soul abilities of community-relation.

Abstract

There were several terms of new student of  Islamic Boarding School Darussalam Gontor. It might be shocked and unfamiliar with the boarding school, from all kinds of regulations and activities that are felt to be endless. It could be found various  problem that experienced by new student such public speaking. Public speaking or speech presentation training is new activity that they just met. it was considered quite difficult which was filled with kinds of regulations. However, without realizing the existence of Public Speaking, it could build and form good characters accordance with the expectations and ideals of Darussalam Modern Islamic Institution Gontor, especially the character of self-confidence. This research was descriptive. It was analyzed using qualitative methods. To collect the data, the researcher used Interview, Observation, and Documentary. The data technical  used analysis Miles and Huberman those are: Reduction DATA, Display Data and Conclusion Drawing &Verification. The result of this research describe that: (1) Public Speaking in Darussalam Modern Islamic Institution Gontor starts with: preparation in writing speech papers, correcting and justifying papers, corrected and evaluated by close friend when practicing speech, delivering speech in public, cheered on by cheers from the audience, and judges by supervisor of public speaking. (2) Public Speaking can foster and shape the confidence with the practice of speech that is continuous, sequential, repeated. With the great preparation, special speech training for a new students, division of public speaking room, and the support also motivation of various parties.

Abstract

This research is the implementation of the intensive language program in the teaching of the Arabic language of the Islamic Center Group "Abdullah Ghanim As-Syamail" Ponorogo. The Islamic Center is the intensive language program in the teaching of the Arabic language, which was implemented by the Department of Arabic Language Education Faculty of Education, University of Darussalam Gontor, supervised by the faculty of Arabic language teaching department. The implementation of this program is confined to one point on reading comprehension. This program aims to reveal implementation of this intensive language program and degree of confiction. The adoption of this research on the field curriculum to know the implementation of the intensive language program in teaching Arabic in the field of research. Data in this study are derived from the observation, interview and written documents. The result of this research was the planning of the intensive language program in the teaching of the Arabic language and the method of implementation of this program and the evaluation of this program of tribal evaluation and post-evaluation.
