Abstract

This study explores the business expansion strategies of 'MELAYA' in Indonesia, with a focus on leveraging community partnerships. Over the past decade, Indonesia's music and events industry has experienced substantial growth, driven by increasing public interest in concerts and festivals. The research aims to analyze how community partnerships can enhance the success of MELAYA's business expansion while addressing the intense competition from established players in the industry. MELAYA, which operates primarily in Bandung's music and event sector, faces challenges in securing partnerships and building brand awareness as it expands into other cities. Optimized digital marketing strategies are expected to foster trust in partnerships and support this expansion. The findings from this research are intended to provide insights into the effectiveness of community partnership strategies in driving event business growth and offer solutions to overcome competitive challenges in this dynamic industry.

Abstract

Bendosari Tourism Village, Malang Regency is one of the strategic alternative tourist destinations because Bendosari borders directly with Batu City, Blitar Regency and Kediri Regency. Bendosari Tourism Village has diverse potentials, including natural tourism, village products such as agriculture, plantations, and technological innovations such as biogas. In addition, what makes this village interesting is that it still maintains customs, local wisdom and community culture. To maximize this potential, a strong and representative visual identity is needed. The purpose of this design is to produce a visual identity that can represent the image of Bendosari Tourism Village which can be implemented in various media according to the needs to create the identity of Bendosari tourism village. The method used in this study is a qualitative method consisting of observation, interviews, documentation, and literature studies. The results of this design are an attractive and easily recognizable Bendosari Tourism Village logo that reflects the diversity of village potential and its application design in various promotional media and merchandise, such as brochures, banners, social media promotions, t-shirts, hats, and others. The implementation of this visual identity aims to increase the visibility of Bendosari Tourism Village, attract visitors, and promote local products and innovations. This research is expected that visual identity can support destination branding strategy and contribute to tourism development and village community empowerment. With the design of visual identity and promotional media for Bendosari Tourism Village, it can help improve image, expand market segmentation and provide its own characteristics for Bendosari Tourism Village so that it can compete in the world of tourism.

Abstract

This paper explores the operationalization of the pentahelix collaboration model through the empowerment of Karang Taruna (Kartar) as a strategic approach to strengthening sustainable urban development and advancing Smart Tourism Destinations (STD) in Semarang City. Using a qualitative, literature-based method, the research examines 57 academic and policy documents published between 2018 until 2024 to identify the interconnections among the five pillars of the pentahelix framework. The findings indicate that the community and academic sectors play a predominant role in fostering local innovation and supporting digital transformation, particularly in the fields of tourism promotion and creative economic growth. Empirical evidence from the Banjardowo village case demonstrates that youth empowerment through digital content creation and online commercialization training has significantly increased local visibility and participation. These outcomes affirm the potential of Kartar as a socio-digital intermediary capable of translating technology into community-driven practices. The study concludes that the integration of the pentahelix framework with community-based empowerment initiatives provides a viable model for realizing inclusive and sustainable smart city development grounded in local wisdom.

Abstract

There are various kinds of culture in Indonesia, especially the local culture. It's not surprising that many young and old people take part in maintaining local culture, one of which is Bantengan art. Bantengan art is widely known by people who love traditional culture. The traditional art of Bantengan comes from East Java, combining elements of ballet, kanuragan, music, and thick poetry or mantras with a magical feel. The game will be interesting if it enters the trance stage, namely the stage where the player holding the Bull's head becomes possessed by the spirit of the Bull's ancestors. The Kebo Putro Joyo Anom Bantengan Art Group is one of the many Bantengan art groups in Malang Regency. The preservation of traditional arts, such as Bantengan, is crucial for cultural heritage and community identity. However, the challenges of modern times, including rapid urbanization and globalization, threaten the continuity of these art forms. To address this issue, this research explores the potential of digital tools to promote and preserve Bantengan art within the Kebo Putro Joyo Anom art group in Malang District, East Java. By leveraging digital platforms and technologies, the study aims to create a more accessible and engaging experience for both artists and audiences, fostering a deeper appreciation for Bantengan art and ensuring its legacy for future generations.

Abstract

This study examines the organization of Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) into a strategic platform for advancing gender equality and community empowerment in Indonesia. DWP, comprised of wives of civil servants and female professionals, plays a unique role in promoting women’s participation in the public sphere and leadership. The study focuses on DWP’s periodic development targets and assesses its progress in fostering gender-inclusive and responsive practices. A mixed methods approach is used, combining trend analysis, policy evaluation, and sentiment mapping to assess participation levels, leadership dynamics, and program effectiveness. The findings showed while DWP has initiated some progressive programmes, its hierarchical structure and mandatory membership continue to limit broader engagement. Leadership influence, communication gaps and traditional gender norms are identified as key barriers to transformation. However, there is growing potential to reposition DWP as an inclusive and forward-looking organisation by strengthening digital engagement, leadership training and feedback mechanisms. The study concludes that removing structural barriers and embracing innovation are essential for sustainable change. It offers practical recommendations for policymakers and academics seeking to reform similar gender-based institutions. Ultimately, this research contributes to the discourse on organizational development and gender equality.

Abstract

The aim of conducting this research was to determine the effect of strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation on the performance of small and medium enterprises. To carry out this study, the researcher have used a descriptive and explanatory research design to determine the relationship and effect of strategic management (strategy formulation, implementation, and evaluation) on performance. The study targeted 152 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and from these 50 small and medium enterprises (SMEs) were determined as a sample but out of which 4 respondents did not return the questionnaire. Stratified probability sampling method was applied and data were collected from 46 SME managers through structured questionnaire using 5-point Likert scale. Primary data have been edited, classified, organized and coded to get descriptive and inferential statistics outputs using a professional software called Statistical Package for Social Science (SPSS) version 19. Regression analysis was done to determine the effect of strategy formulation, implementation and evaluation on performance, and correlation analysis was also conducted to determine the relationship between strategy formulation, implementation, evaluation and performance through inferential statistics. Finally, the finding shows that strategic management practice had a positive effect on performance. However, the only variable that affected performance was strategy implementation. Based on the findings, the researcher has recommended that all enterprises should have a written strategic intent, get training from strategic management consultants/ strategists, involve in training programs prepared by the authorities regarding enterprises and actively engaged in strategic management practice to increase their profit, output, market share, customer satisfaction and reduction of waste.
