Abstract

Pantai Alasdowo dan Pantai Mangunharjo merupakan kawasan ekosistem mangrove yang berada di kawasan pesisir pulau Jawa. Pada kedua lokasi tersebut tumbuh berbagai macam jenis mangrove, akan tetapi di kawasan Pantai Mangunharjo memiliki tingkat pertumbuhan mangrove yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan pertumbuhan mangrove di Pantai Alasdowo. Perbedaan tingkat pertumbuhan bisa disebabkan oleh berbagai faktor. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kualitas tanah di Pantai Alasdowo dan Pantai Mangunharjo. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan sifat fisik tanah yang meliputi tekstur dan warna tanah, serta sifat kimia tanah meliputi pH dan salinitas tanah pada kedua pantai berbeda tetapi masih dalam batas toleransi pertumbuhan Rhizoporasp. Perbedaan pertumbuhan mangrove pada kedua pantai tersebut dapat dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain yang dalam penelitian ini tidak dikaji, misalnya aktivitas manusia di sekitar lokasi penelitian.Kata Kunci: kualitas tanah, Rhizophorasp., sifat fisik tanah, sifat kimia tanah

Abstract

Problem-based learning (PBL) dalam pembelajaran biologidianggap sebagai salah satu desain pembelajaran innovatif kontekstual, karena mendorong siswa belajar biologi dari masalah-masalah (kasus) nyata yang dijumpai disekeliling kita, dan melatih siswa menjadi pembelajar reflektif (metakognitif). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji 1) Penerapan pembelajaran biologi berbasis PBL terhadap kemampuan metakognitif siswa, 2) seberapa efektif pengaruh pembelajaran biologi berbasis PBL terhadap kemampuan metakognitif. Penelitian dilakukan di SMA N 01 pecangaan, dengan sampel 33 siswa kelas XI IPA. Desainpenelitian yang digunakanadalah One group single pre-test–post test. Hasil data dianalisis menggunakan uji uji paired simple t-test. Dimana hasil kemampuan metakognitif di peroleh dari hasil angket metakognisi MAI (Metacognition Awareness Inventory). Data hasil penerapan pembelajaran PBL terhadap kemampuan metkognif rata-rata memperoleh penilaian positif dari siswa sehingga dapat dikatakan bahwa penerapan pembelajaran PBL berhasil dilaksanakan dengan baik. Data kemampuan metakognitif mengalami peningkatan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan sebesar 0,36 (sedang). Peningkatan kemampuan metakognitif tertinggi di dapati dari aspek perencanaan yaitu 0,42 (sedang), dan hasil sebaliknya didapat dari aspek kemampuan metakognitif dalam hal pelaksanaan yang hanya mendapat 0,29 (rendah). Dari hasil analisis data pre-test dan post-test yang di analiasis menggunakan uji paired simple t-test didapati t tabel (Pada a = 5% dengan db = 33-1 = 32 diperoleh t(0.95)(32)) didapati sebesar 2,04. Oleh karena t hitung (19, 34)  > t tabel (2,04) maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh yang nyata antara pembelajaran biologi berbasis PBL terhadap kemampuan metakognitif siswa, atau boleh dikatakan bahwa pembelajaran PBL efektif untuk meningkatkan kemampuan metakognitif siswa. Kata kunci: Metakognitif. Abstract

This research entitled the application of written feedback  assessment to improve the mastery of student concepts. This study aims to determine the mastery of student concepts through the application of written feedback  assessment in the learning of ecosystem materials. The research method used in this research is descriptive method. The sample in this study is the 30 students of SMP Negeri 6 Sukabumi class VII G. Sampling of this research was taken randomly by using Purposive Sampling technique. The instrument used in the research are Student Worksheet which is used to measure the mastery of the concept of the student and the questionnaire used to obtain additional data in the form of student responses to the learning with the application of written feedback  assessment. The results showed that the provision of written feedback  assessment in learning can improve the mastery of student concepts. Applying written feedback  assessments can also encourage students to be more active in their learning process, building student motivation to be willing to process and improve their abilities. In other words the application of written feedback  assessment is very feasible to apply in school learning.

Abstract

Cholesterol levels in the blood above normal are called hypercholesterolemia. This condition will cause many diseases such as atherosclerosis, heart disease and stroke. One way to prevent this disease is by fasting. Therefore, this study aims to determine the effect of fasting on cholesterol levels. This research is an experiment with Complete Random Design (CRD) method. The experimental animals used were mice aged 8-10 weeks and weight 23-26 grams. The treatment given is (A) not fasting as a control, (B) fasting Monday-Thursday, (C) fasting Daud. The treatment was given for 36 days then the blood of the mice was taken and cholesterol levels were measured. The data obtained were then analyzed using one way ANOVA SPSS statistical program with a significance level of 5%. The results showed that the sig value > 0.05, which means that the fasting Monday-Thursday and Daud did not affect the cholesterol levels of mice.

Abstract

Gelis River is the largest river that divides in the middle of the Holy City. The current condition of the Gelis river is very alarming because the water is black and has an unpleasant odor. The variety of human activities around the Gelis River greatly affects the river and human ecosystems themselves. Therefore, a solution is needed in overcoming this problem in order to create clean and pollutant-free waters. This study aims to improve the quality of river water in Sungai Gelis using a combination of apu-ape bioremediation and nano-zeolite material. This study uses a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments with 3 replications. The treatment in this study included P0: Control (without apu - apu and nano zeolite), P1: Gelis river water was reheated with apu - apu plant, P2: Gelis river water was treated with nano zeolite, and P3: Gelis river water was treated with plants apu - apu and nano zeolite. Testing of Sungai Gelis wastewater is carried out in physics, chemistry and biology. The results showed that the combination of apu-apu and nanozeolite obtained clear water quality, odorless, pH became normal, and no microorganisms

Abstract

Pembelajaran Biologi membutuhkan pemahaman konsep yang baik. Hasil observasi di MAN 1 Semarang, menunjukan ketuntasan belajar siswa klasikal pada materi sistem peredaran darah 67,5%. Pemanfaatan media pembelajaran terus diupayakan, namun  hasilnya belum memuaskan, sehingga diperlukan penelitian untuk mengetahui efektifitas metode  guided teaching dalam mengorganisasikan konsep pada pembelajaran  sistem  peredaran darah. Metode  penelitian menggunakan jenis weak eksperimental design tipe the one shot case study. Hasil penelitian diketahui bahwa rerata tingkat persentase ketuntasan kelas eksperimen  mencapai 85% dengan taraf signifikansinya 0,02 dan tingkat keaktifan belajar siswa kelas eksperimen 90,81%. Berdasarkan  hasil tersebut dapat disimpulkan bahwa melalui penerapan metode guided teaching dalam  mengorganisasikan  konsep efektif dapat meningkatkan  ketuntasan hasil belajar dan aktifitas belajar siswa pada materi  sistem peredaran darah. Kata Kunci: Guided Teaching, Organisasi Konsep, Sistem Peredaran Darah

Abstract

Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pendahuluan yang dilakukan dengan tujuan untuk mengidentifikasi materi Biologi SMA Kelas XI semester gasal yang dipandang sulit menurut siswa dan guru. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survei. Data dikumpulkan melalui angket yang melibatkan siswa SMA dengan populasi siswa SMA kelas XII jurusan IPA se-Kota Salatiga. Sampel penelitian diambil dengan teknik convenience sampling dan diperoleh siswa sebanyak satu kelas dari tiap sekolah. Responden lain dalam penelitian ini adalah guru. Responden tersebut merupakan guru yang mengampu mata pelajaran biologi kelas XI IPA di tiap sekolah. Data yang terkumpul diolah secara deskriptif dengan hasil sebagai berikut. Materi yang dianggap paling sulit oleh siswa dan guru adalah sama yaitu materi sistem regulasi. Materi yang dianggap sulit oleh siswa dan guru juga sama, yaitu materi sistem pertahanan tubuh. Siswa menyatakan bahwa materi tersebut dipandang paling sulit/ sulit dikarenakan konsep sulit dipahami dan materinya terlalu banyak. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dapat disimpulkan bahwa materi sistem regulasi dan materi sistem pertahanan tubuh tergolong materi biologi SMA kelas XI yang sulit.

Abstract

Cognitive style adalah cara seseorang dalam mengolah suatu informasi. Sedangkan individu yang kreatif adalah individu yang dapat memecahkan keseluruhan permasalahan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis cognitive style dan creative quality mahasiswa Tadris Biologi IAIN Jember Angkatan 2015. Metode penelitian  ini menggunakan Cognitive Reflection Test (CRT) untuk mengukur Cognitive style dan Adjective Check List (ACL) untuk creative quality. Subjek penelitian ini yaitu sebanyak 33 mahasiswa dengan 31 perempuan dan 2 laki-laki. Hasil menunjukkan mahasiswa mengadopsi gaya berpikir intuitif dan memiliki tingkat kreativitas sebesar 1,24 yang menunjukkan kecenderung kearah individu yang kreatif.
