Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung or Journal of Agricultural Engineering (JTEP-L) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal. The journal invites scientists and engineers throughout the world to exchange and disseminate theoretical and practice-oriented researches in the whole aspect of Agricultural Enginering including but not limited to Agricultural Mechanization, Irrigation, Soil and Water Engineering, Postharvest Technology, Renewable Energy, Farm Structure, and related fields. The first issue was published in October 2012 by Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has ISSN number 2302 - 559X for print edition on October 10, 2012 then 2549 - 0818 for online edition on January 10, 2017. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung is issued periodically four times a year in March, June, September, and December. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been indexed by Google Scholar, Crossref, Directory Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and CABI. Since Volume 5 Issue 1 (2016) Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been accredited as SINTA 3 by Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). Starting Volume 10 Issue 3 (2021) the journal received accreditation SINTA 2.

Abstract

Design and manufacture of coffee pulper machines have been carried out with the aim of completing the needs of the coffee farmer groups when harvesting in the Kayu Aro area, Kerinci. The steps in designing and manufacturing a coffee pulper begins with a literature study, design and calculation, the process of making the tool and ends with testing the tool. Engineering drawing design is done by modeling in SolidWorks software. Coffee peeler machine with a capacity of 4 kg/min, with a machine size of 730 mm x 320 mm x 1040 mm, using an electric motor 1 HP 1420 rpm, with a frame using an elbow profile 40 mm x 40 mm x 3 mm. The transmission system uses an electric motor with an initial rotation of 1420 rpm to 364.6 rpm. In the 2 pulley component D = 74.6 mm and 290.5 mm, V-belt type B No.52, 1 solid shaft D = 25 mm. Initial test results using 2–5 kg of wet coffee beans take 30.07–77.20 seconds, and the skin has separated from the beans cleanly. These results show that the engine capacity is 235.62 kg/h, so that the desired target is met with relatively low operating costs. The existence of this tool will be able to help the process of separating the skin and coffee beans, so that the quality of coffee production will increase.      Keywords:  coffee, coffee machine, design and construction, farmer groups

Abstract

Pupuk alternatif dapat menjadi solusi untuk budidaya tanaman pakcoy hidroponik tanpa harus menggunakan pupuk Komersial.  Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan pupuk alternatif yang dapat menghasilkan pertumbuhan dan hasil yang setara dengan pupuk Komersial atau Standart. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan di Kebun Percobaan Kartini, Fakultas Pertanian dan Bisnis, Universitas Kristen Satya Wacana, pada bulan Desember 2019-Februari 2020. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK), dengan 5 perlakuan (pupuk Standar, pupuk Komersial, pupuk Mas’ud, pupuk Hermawan revisi, dan pupuk Tama). Setiap perlakuan diulang 5 kali. Parameter pengamatan meliputi tinggi tanaman, jumlah daun, bobot segar tajuk, diameter bonggol, dan luas daun. Hasil pengamatan dianalisis dengan menggunakan sidik ragam (uji F 5%), sedangkan Duncan Multiple Range Test dengan selang kepercayaan 95% digunakan untuk uji lanjutnya.  Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pupuk Komersial memberikan hasil bobot segar seberat 265,11gram pertanaman yang tidak berbeda nyata dengan pupuk Mas’ud yaitu 209,52 gram. Sedangkan pupuk Tama berbeda nyata dengan pupuk Komersial dan Mas’ud, tetapi dapat digunakan untuk pupuk alternatif dengan hasil 153,87 gram per tanaman. Kata kunci: hasil, hidroponik, pakcoy, pertumbuhan, pupuk

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui pengaruh pemaparan variasi musik terhadap karakteristik pertumbuhan vegetatif dan produktifitas tanaman bayam cabut. Perlakuan yang diterapkan pada penelitian ini adalah jenis musik (gamelan jawa, musik rock dan rekaman suara burung murai batu) dan perlakuan waktu (1 jam, 2 jam dan 3 jam). Level suara yang digunakan berkisar antara 70-75 dB dimulai sejak tanaman telah disemai hingga panen. Parameter yang diamati panjang dan lebar daun tanaman, tinggi tanaman, berat tanaman saat panen dan panjang akar tanaman bayam. Perlakuan terbaik dari penelitian terhadap pertumbuhan tanaman bayam adalah perlakuan musik gamelan jawa dengan waktu pemaparan 3 jam. Perlakuan ini menghasilkan rata-rata tinggi tanaman sebesar 100.79 cm, panjang daun tanaman bayam sebesar 36.27 cm, lebar daun tanaman bayam sebesar 25.30 cm, berat tanaman bayam saat panen sebesar 72.16 gram dan panjang akar tanaman bayam dengan sebesar 36.41 cm. Secara umum paparan musik gamelan dengan waktu pemaparan 3 jam memberikan hasil terbaik terhadap karakteristik morfologi dan produktifitas tanaman baya. Kata Kunci:   bayam, pertumbuhan, produktifitas, suara

Abstract

Rice transplanters have been used in Pinrang district since 2017. The machines are initially grant from the Government through the Ministry of Agriculture. The type of rice transplanters that is mostly found within farmer groups are the Crown Indo Jarwo type. This study aims to identify and determine the theoretical and field capacity of rice transplanter, as well as field efficiency of the machine. The method used in this research was field experimental and descriptive analysis. The research was conducted at three different speeds on 3 plots of rice fields with each size of 10 x 10 meters. The results showed that the rate of 1.52 km/hour was a good speed to use in paddy fields with a working capacity of 8.5 h/ha. The results obtained from the calculation of the theoretical field capacity were 0.14 ha/h or 7.14 h/ha. The effective field capacity was 0.12 ha/h or 8.33 h/ha with an efficiency of 86%. Keywords: field efficiency, rice, rice transplanter, work capacity

Abstract

ABSTRAK Salah satu bagian penting dalam turbin banki adalah pengaturan guide vane, karena aliran masuk air ke sudu pada turbin tergantung dari pengaturan guide vane nya, baik pada debit rendah maupun normal. Tujuan riset ini adalah untuk mengoptimasi desain mekanisme linkage guide vane agar diperoleh ukuran dan kekuatan komponen yang optimal. Gambar desain pertama-tama dibuat dalam bentuk 2D menggunakan software CAD (Computer Aided Design) kemudian dibentuk ke 3D menggunakan software Inventor. Beban total aliran pada guide vane diberikan sebesar 200 % meliputi faktor water hammer sebesar 130 % dan beban dinamik sebesar 150 %. Simulasi pengujian stress analysis menggunakan software Inventor dalam rangkaian komponen yang terpadu atau dalam satu assembly. Nilai optimasi tegangan yield dibandingkan dengan tegangan yang terjadi ≥ 3,0 ul (unitless). Dari hasil pengujian software Inventor diperoleh optimasi faktor keamanan kekuatan material per-komponen  sebesar  3,02 ul pada poros guide vane dan 3,05 ul pada komponen linkage.Kata kunci : Optimasi, Linkage, Guide Vane, Turbin Banki, Stress Analysis

Abstract

Identifying beef manually has some drawbacks because human visual has limitations and there are differences of human perception in assessing object quality. Several researches developed beef quality assessment methods based on image feature extraction. However, not all features support for obtaining the classification results that have high accuracy. The efficiency will be achieved if the classification analyzes only the relevant features. Therefore, a feature selection process is required to select relevant features and to eliminate irrelevant features to obtain more accurate and faster classification results. One of the feature selection algorithms is the F-Score which is a simple technique that measures the discrimination of two sets of real numbers. The features with the lowest ranking from the F-Score will be eliminated one by one until the most relevant features are obtained. The test is carried out by analyzing the classification results in the form of sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy values. The results of this research showed that by using the F-Score feature, the most relevant features for the classification of freshness level of local beef are obtained using the K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN) method. These features include the average color intensity R and standard deviation with a sensitivity of 0.8, a specificity of 0.93, and an accuracy of 86%.  Keywords:  Classification, Fiture Selection, F-Score, K-Nearest Neighbor, Local beef

Abstract

Colour is one of the essential attributes as product quality criteria that determine the acceptance of a product by consumers. Granulated palm sugar is a crystalline form, which is hygroscopic. The purpose of this study was to study the colour changes through the CIELab (L, a and b) colour system to the changes in the moisture content of granulated palm sugar during storage. Changes in the values of L, a and b were observed during storage at 30oC and 76% RH. The results showed that the moisture content of granulated palm sugar increased from 3.84% wb to 8.40% wb for 10 hours of storage. The L value tends to decrease with an increasing water content which causes it to turn dark brown. While the cost of a tends to increase with increasing moisture content, the colour of the granulated palm sugar to reddish. The same thing happened to the value of b, which increases with the moisture content of granulated palm sugar and causes it tends to yellowish. Thus the change in ant sugar moisture content gives a significant difference to the L, a and b values during storage.

Abstract

Fruits are a type of perishable agricultural product. One of the post-harvest handling efforts to maintain the freshness of the fruit is chitosan coating. Research has been carried out on various level concentration of chitosan as a coating for grapes (Vitis vinifera) and storage time. This study aims to determine the effect of chitosan concentration on water content,  color and brix of red grapes after storage. Chitosan coating was carried out by immersion methods at various levels of chitosan concentration, namely 0%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5% and 2% (w/v) with immersion times of 30 seconds and 60 seconds. Based on the statistical test, it is shown that the chitosan concentration of 1.5% (w/v) with immersion time of 60 seconds and storage time on the 5th day is the most optimum for the brightness level of the grapes because the chitosan layer can close the pores of red grapes so that the respiration process aerobic and CO2 which affect color can be inhibited by chitosan solution. Keywords: Chitosan, edible coating, grape, post harvest, shelf life

Abstract

The problem of plastic waste is very flourished in the current era of modern life.  In this study, a three-condenser pyrolysis reactor was applied to obtain fuels in the form of oil#1, oil#2, and oil#3 from plastic waste. Gas Chromatography-Mass Spectroscopy (GC-MS) technique was carried out to analyze the fuel for profiling study.  Characterization using GC-MS indicated the domination of hydrocarbon compounds was found oil#1.  The existence of hydrocarbon compounds from oil#2 and oil#3 was displayed by chromatogram and MS database from Library Wiley 7.LIB.  Meanwhile, alcohol, ether, and fatty acid were detected from oil#1 based on the chromatogram and MS database.  Therefore, the samples were categorized as fuel.  The result of this study corresponded to the concept of pyrolysis and be able to be implemented as an alternative energy source. Keywords: fuel, GC-MS profile, plastic waste, three-condenser pyrolysis reactor
