Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung or Journal of Agricultural Engineering (JTEP-L) is a peer-reviewed open-access journal. The journal invites scientists and engineers throughout the world to exchange and disseminate theoretical and practice-oriented researches in the whole aspect of Agricultural Enginering including but not limited to Agricultural Mechanization, Irrigation, Soil and Water Engineering, Postharvest Technology, Renewable Energy, Farm Structure, and related fields. The first issue was published in October 2012 by Department of Agricultural Engineering, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has ISSN number 2302 - 559X for print edition on October 10, 2012 then 2549 - 0818 for online edition on January 10, 2017. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung is issued periodically four times a year in March, June, September, and December. Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been indexed by Google Scholar, Crossref, Directory Open Access Journals (DOAJ), and CABI. Since Volume 5 Issue 1 (2016) Jurnal Teknik Pertanian Lampung has been accredited as SINTA 3 by Directorate General of Higher Education (DIKTI). Starting Volume 10 Issue 3 (2021) the journal received accreditation SINTA 2.

Abstract

The design of the wilted tea stalk and leaf separation system aims to improve the quality of the tea produced especially by separating the tea leaves and stalks at the beginning of the process. Stages that are needed to be done include designing a chopper machine that is capable of chopping tea stems and leaves to a certain size and designing stem and leaf separation system with the pneumatic principle with suction. In this study, physical, mechanical and aerodynamic characteristics of tea leaves were measured. The result showed that force to release a leaf is in the range of values between 12.24-16.17 N smaller than the need for the cutting force of the stem and leaves and the greatest difference in force is achieved at a water content between 55 and 58% bb (leaves) and 66-68% bb (stalk). The leaf terminal velocity is <3 m s-1 while the tea terminal velocity is > 9 m s-1. Tea leaf yield value is very important as a reference in testing the performance of tea and tea leaf separator machines where the average leaf yield is 77.33% and the average stem yield is 22.67%. Keywords: characteristic of tea leaves, engineering, separation of tea leaves, withering of tea leaves

Abstract

Pintu air Leonardo da Vinci Miter Gate memiliki desain yang dianggap efektif menahan air. Adanya perkembangan teknologi yang sangat pesat menjadikan push technology mudah diterapkan dalam sistem yang terintegrasi dengan internet. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan perangkat otomasi pintu air irigasi menggunakan model Leonardo da Vinci Miter Gate dan pengiriman informasi melalui push technology. Penelitian ini dilakukan melalui lima tahapan yaitu: studi literatur, rancangan fungsional, rancangan struktural, analisis teknik, dan pengujian sistem otomasi dengan menggunakan Arduino UNO, Sensor ultrasonic HC-SR04, Motor Servo dan Router sebagai perangkat utama dalam penelitian ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode rekayasa dan menghasilkan purwarupa saluran irigasi dan pintu air model Leonardo da Vinci Miter Gate dan integrasi dengan perangkat otomasi berhasil menghasilkan informasi yang dapat dibaca pengguna melalui layer LCD ataupun melalui smartphone. Temuan dari hasil pengujian adalah terjadinya kebocoran pada pintu sebesar 5-8% dari debit inlet. Pada rancangan fungsional sensor, aktuator dan pemantauan data ketinggian muka air berjalan sesuai dengan skrip yang ditulis dan menghasilkan rata-rata penerimaan notifikasi selama 3 detik setelah pengiriman informasi. Kata Kunci: Arduino UNO. Abstract

Bringing plasma into food processing is a relatively new measure for food engineer and scientist. It is simple in generation, low energy requirement, high efficacy, and easy to apply, pave its way to be a new prospective scenario in processing more safety food recently. Plasma is the fourth matter after solid, liquid and gas contain various reactive species generated by electrical discharge from 10-120kV. Those are Reactive Oxygen and Nitrogen (RONS) comprising various reactive species including nitric oxide (NO), superoxide (O2-), hydrogen peroxide (H2O2); singlet oxygen (1O2); ozone (O3) and even hydroxyl radical (-OH) which can and do play important roles in biological systems. This brief review describes plasma interaction with the biological system and pesticides compound and sums up some finding on the nonthermal application on two main consideration of food safety namely microorganisms decontamination and pesticides residue degradation.

Abstract

The slope of the gutter affects the dissolved oxygen content in the hydroponic nutrient flow. Dissolved oxygen is one of the factors that can affect plant growth and yield. This study aims to determine the effect of gutter slope on the growth and yield of pakcoy plants. The research was conducted at Jl. Pundak Sari, Kutowinangun Kidul, Salatiga, Central Java from March to May 2019 in the greenhouse. Treatment of a combination of green and white pakcoy varieties with a chamfer slope of 6%, 9% and 12%. Each was repeated four times to get 24 experimental units. This study used a randomized block design. The parameters observed were dissolved oxygen, plant height, number of leaves, crown diameter, plant fresh weight. Data were analyzed using variants. To find out the differences between treatments, the DMRT test was used with a 95% confidence interval. Based on the results of the study,bhi the combination of varieties and the slope of the gutter had a significant effect on the number of leaves, crown diameter, and plant fresh weight. The combination of green pakcoy variety with 12% gutter slope gave the best results including plant height 25.32 cm, number of leaves 18.83, crown diameter 33.36 cm and fresh weight of 161.4 g plant-1. Keywords: NFT, varieties, slope gutters, dissolved oxygen

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk membuat sistem kontrol pengendalian suhu ruang pengering hybrid tipe rak berputar berbasis mikrokontroler Arduino Mega, dan melakukan uji kinerja terhadap sistem yang dirancang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode eksperimental dengan percobaan di Laboratorium Daya dan Mesin Pertanian Fakultas Teknologi Pangan dan Agroindustri Universitas Mataram. Data yang dihasilkan kemudian dianalisa menggunakan aplikasi Mc. Excel. Hasil kalibrasi sensor suhu DS18B20 dengan termometer digital menunjukkan persamaan linieritas pada air hangat didapatkan  R2=0,999 dan air dingin R2=0,926. Hasil pengujian pada perlakuan tanpa bahan dan menggunakan bahan memperlihatkan sistem dapat bekerja dengan baik. Hal ini dilihat dari hasil pembacaan sensor suhu yang direspon oleh kondisi kipas pembuang panas dan penghembus panas. Nilai konsumsi daya listrik yang dibutuhkan oleh kipas sebesar 13,57 Watt dan untuk kebutuhan arus listrik sebesar 0,062 A.

Abstract

The embedded systems in the industrial, especially image processing, is increasingly leading to the study of production automation systems such as fruit sorting. Post-harvest sorting system implemented by the industry is manual, so it’s not effective. The solution was to conduct research aimed at modifying post-harvest sorting tools by engineering tomato and orange sorting machines based on their color. The method uses image processing. It’s the most efficient alternative in terms of cost and complexity of hardware design, does not require many sensors, but produces an accurate output. The camera is placed on the mechanical sorting machine system, taking images to determine the sorting execution after the fruit color type are recognized. The results of the research were carried out through several tests, namely: light intensity, color image data, and organoleptics. Light intensity test showed that the position of the tool had a value of 0.78% of the outside light disturbance. Color image shows the range of ripeness values (R/G) for raw tomatoes 0<=1.04; half ripe tomatoes 1.04<=1.39; ripe tomatoes 1.39<=3.59; raw orange 0<=0.92; undercooked oranges 0.92<=0.98; and ripe oranges 0.98<=1.66. Organoleptic test from five observers had the same results as the reading on the fruit sorting tool. Keywords : engineering, fruit maturity, oranges, sorting machines, tomatoes

Abstract

Budidaya sayuran hidroponik dapat dijadikan salah satu alternatif dalam meningkatkan penghasilan karena memberikan keuntungan yang relatif besar dengan pasar potensial yang terus berkembang. Namun, budidaya sayuran hidroponik membutuhkan ketelitian, keterampilan khusus dan biaya produksi yang relatif tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis keuntungan budidaya sayuran hidroponik berdasarkan sistem budidaya hidroponik yang digunakan dan jenis sayuran yang dibudidayakan. Tiga unit instalasi hidroponik DFT dengan ukuran 2 m x 1 m x 2 m digunakan untuk membudidayakan sayuran pakcoy, caisim dan kangkung. Berdasarkan analisis efisiensi usahatani, maka budidaya sayuran hidroponik dengan sistem DFT layak diusahakan dengan rasio (B/C) untuk budidaya pakcoy sebesar 1,5, rasio (B/C) untuk budidaya caisim sebesar 1,1 dan rasio (B/C) untuk budidaya kangkung  sebesar 1,4.

Abstract

Flavonoid compound is an important compound of tea products. However, the flavonoid level content in black tea is lowest than other teas. This is due to the processing of black tea which has an enzymatic oxidation stage and  the tea age leaves when picking. Young tea leaves contain higher total flavonoids than old tea leaves. With an average level of total flavonoids, the young tea leaves is 27.76% qe w / w, while for the old tea leaves 18.61% qe w / w. However, the enzymatic oxidation time treatment did not affect the total flavonoids because the process only affected the quality of black tea steeping, on it’s colour, aroma, and taste. Keywords: age of tea leaves, black tea, enzymatic oxidation, total flavonoids

Abstract

Air nutrisi pada reservoir hidroponik rakit apung berfungsi untuk memenuhi kebutuhan nutrsi tanaman hidroponik. Sirkulasi yang terus menerus selama 24 jam menyebabkan ketinggian air berkurang akibat proses evaporasi pada tanaman, mengakibatkan air reservoir berkurang tiap harinya. Penelitian dilakukan dengan merancang alat monitoring ketinggian air dan nutrisi tanaman kangkung (Ipomea reptans) pada hidroponik rakit apung melalui aplikasi telegram. Sensor Ultrasonik HC-SR04 sebagai pembaca level air dan Sensor TDS DFRobot TDS nutrisi serta relay 2 channel sebagai on-off otomatis pompa air dan nutrisi. Bot telegram API melalui botfather disinkronkan dengan nodeMCU-ESP32 sehingga dapat dikontrol melalui sistem internet of things (IoT). Telegram dapat menerima dan meminta informasi tinggi air, TDS, status pompa, menghidupkan dan mematikan pompa air serta nutrisi. Pompa air “on” pada ketinggian kurang dari 15 cm dan pompa “off” pada ketinggian di atas 20 cm, sedangkan untuk pompa nutrisi “on” pada nilai TDS kurang dari 500 ppm dan “off” pada nilai TDS di atas 1000 ppm. Pada pengujian sensor ultrasonik didapatkan error 0%, sedangkan pada pengujian sensor TDS didapat error 0-0,4 % dan 0-0,5%. Tanaman kangkung hidroponik rakit apung pada umur 30 HST mencapai rata-rata tinggi tanaman 52,63 cm dan bobot total basar sebesar 31,25 gram. Kata Kunci:   floating, hidroponik, IoT, kangkung, telegram
