Abstract

Based  on  the  palm oil plantation growth,  Indonesia  has  very  high  potential  to  increase  by product of palm oil  through  the implementation of adapted and liable technology. The  research was conducted to study the ability of by product of palm oil meal addition concentrates on the economic performance of cattle. This experiment used a randomized block design, with 3 treatments and 3 blocks. Treatments consisted of P1 14% crude protein (palm frond and by product of palm oil concentrate), P2 16% crude protein (palm frond and by product of palm oil concentrate), and P3 18% crude protein (palm frond and by product of palm oil concentrate). The experiment was conducted for 4 months with the adaptation periods for 2 weeks. Parameters measured were income over feed cost (IOFC) and revenue cost ratio. The results showed that the by product of palm oil meal addition on different concentrate did not significantly (P>0,05) affect IOFC  and revenue cost Ratio. It is concluded that based on the IOFC and revenue cost ratio, by product of palm oil concentrate can be combined with P1,  P2  and P3 concentrate.  Keywords: Feed, Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC), R-C ratio

Abstract

The purpose of this research was to find out interior quality of egg laying hens which immersion with moringa leaf solution and to find out the best moringa leaf solution.  This research carried out on August 14--September 13, 2016 housed in the Laboratory Animal Production and Reproduction, Department of Animal Husbandry, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung.  The material of research used 72 eggs laying hens strain isa brown from layer of 60 weeks old with the average weight 63,0±1,51 gram and coefficient of variation 2,40%.  This research used a Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 6 repetition.  The treatments of research consists of immersion egg used moringa leaf solution 0% (w/v), 10% (w/v), 20% (w/v), and 30% (w/v).  Analyzed data observation used variance with 5% trust level and continued with Least Significant Different test.  The result showed that immersion egg with moringa leaf solution significant effect (P<0,05) increase albumin index and the haugh unit, and not significant effect (P>0,05) to yolk index and percentage egg weight lo.  Concentration 30% of immersion moringa leaf solution to give the best treatment to interior quality of egg laying hens.                                 Keywords :  Albumin Index Moringa Leaf, Percentage Egg Weight Lost, Yolk Index, Haugh Unit.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the water content, protein, and fat in the avocado seed jackfruit and durian obtained from traditional markets in Bandar Lampung. Materials used in this research are the seeds of avocado, jackfruit seeds, and seeds of durian. The material obtained from the three traditional markets, namely Bandar Lampung Bambu Kuning, Markets Teluk, and Market Way Halim. This research was conducted using a survey method with the sampling design. Samples were taken three replications from each market using purposive random sampling.  The results showed that: (1) the moisture content of 81.28% jackfruit seeds, avocado seed 60.16%, and 45.95% durian seeds (2) The lipid content of crude oil in the avocado seed 11: 40%, 10 durian seeds, 98%, and jackfruit seeds 10: 25% (3) the protein content in seeds 11.70% jackfruit, durian 6: 56% of fruit seeds, and avocado seed 6: 52%. Keywords: Avocado Seeds,Seeds of Jackfruit, Durian Fruit Seeds

Abstract

Cassava processing into bioethanol potentially generates waste as animal feed, but the content of nutrients is still low. This research aims to discover effect of urea and sulfur addition in solid waste bioethanol fermented by EM-4 on contents of crude protein and fiber. The research used the experimental methods with completely randomized design, factorial pattern 3 × 3 with 3 time of replicates. The first factor, supplementation of Nitrogen is Urea (N1=0%, N2=1,5%, N3=3%) and the second factor is supplementation of sulfur (S1=0%, S2=0,02%, S3=0,04%). Based on the results of variance analysis showed that there is an interaction between urea with sulfur on content of protein crude, but not on fiber crude. Addition of each urea and sulfur showed that the content of crude protein was increased (P<0,05) and the level of crude fiber (P<0,05) was decreased. Fermentation along 4 day on treatment of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% produce crude protein and fiber of 14,44% and 6,97%, respectively. Conclusion, addition of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% give the good results. Keywords: Bioethanol, EM-4 (Efective Microorganisms4), Crude Protein, Crude Fiber, Sulfur and Urea

Abstract

The study was done to determine a general health feature of goat reared on semi intensive system especially on gastrointestinal worms parasites infestation. Research location were chosen based on the higher population in one location home farmers. Thirtytwo goats was 4 weeks – 3 years old  that reared in the stage shed model examined fecal sample for knowing prevalence of gastrointestinal worm. The examination method fecal sample used natif and sedimentation methods. Based on the results of investigation fecal sample shows that prevalence of  gastrointestinal worm infestation on goat reared in the stage shed model was 100%. The goats were infected with Strongyle sp, Strongyloides sp, Haemonchus spp, Bunostomum spp, Trichostrongilus spp, dan Cooperia spp. Keywords : Infestation,Gastrointestinal Worm, Ettawa Crossbreed Goat, Stage Shed
