Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect and the best level of using cassava leaf flour added in commercial feed on feed intake, live weight, carcass weight, giblet weight of KUB chickens at 9 weeks. The research used  completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 5 replications. Every replication consisted of 4 chickens. Eighty KUB chickens were randomly allotted into 4 treatments. The treatments were commercial feed without the addition of cassava leaf flour (P0); addition of 5% cassava leaf flour (P1); addition of 10% cassava leaf flour (P2), and  addition of 15% cassava leaf flour (P3) to the commercial ration BR1. Analysis of variance was carried out to determine the effect of adding cassava leaf flour in the commercial ration BR 1 on the measured variables in KUB chickens aged 9 weeks. The result showed  that adding cassava leaf flour in commercial feed showed significant effect in decreasing feed intake, live weight, carcass weight, and giblet weight in KUB chickens aged 9 weeks.

Abstract

One of the parameters to see the reproductive performance of cattle is service per conception (S/C). The lack of information on important factors affecting S/C in Ongole Cross-breed (PO) cattles breeding underlies this research. The analysis in this research was linear regression using the MINITAB 16 application. The results of the research for service per conception (S/C) in Ongole Cross-breed (PO) cattles in Tanjung Sari sub-district were classified as ideal with a value of 1.29 ± 0.52. Each increase in the value of the BCS score will increase the S/C value. Each added age value at first married, it will increase the S/C value. Each added value of the parent's age will reduce the S/C value. The conclusion in this study is that S/C in PO cattles in Tanjung Sari District is 1.29 ± 0.52. Factors that affect the value of conception rate in PO cattles in Tanjung Sari district was the BCS score which was positively associated with S/C with a value of 0.553, age at first mated was negatively associated with S/C with a value of -0.434, and age parent was negatively associated with S/C with value of -0,114.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pendapatan peternak sapi, pendapatan rumah tangga peternak sapi dan tingkat kesejahteraan peternak sapi anggota Kelompok Ternak Limousin. Penelitian ini dilakukan secara sengaja pada Januari-Februari 2019 di Desa Astomulyo, Kecamatan Punggur, Kabupaten Lampung Tengah, menggunakan metode survei. Ada 45 responden yang diambil dengan menggunakan Simple Random Sampling. Data dianalisis secara kuantitatif dan kualitatif dengan menggunakan analisis pendapatan (Revenue-Cost Ratio-R/C), analisis pendapatan rumah tangga, dan tingkat kesejahteraan rumah tangga peternak berdasarkan kriteria Badan Pusat Statistik. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pendapatan rata-rata peternak berdasarkan biaya tunai dan total biaya sebesar Rp138.882.134,78 per tahun dan Rp132.405.206,29 per tahun. Usaha ternak sapi layak dan menguntungkan karena memperoleh rasio penerimaan dengan biaya tunai dan total biaya lebih dari satu (R/C>1) yaitu 1,44 dan 1,41. Usaha ternak sapi memberikan kontribusi terbesar pada pendapatan rumah tangga sebesar 94,38%, sedangkan sisanya berasal dari kegiatan usahatani (on farm), kegiatan yang masih ada kaitannya dengan pertanian (off farm), dan kegiatan non pertanian (non farm). Berdasarkan kriteria BPS bahwa 91,11% rumah tangga peternak di Desa Astomulyo berada dalam kategori sejahtera. Kata kunci : Analisis pendapatan, Kesejahteraan rumah tangga, Peternak sapi potong.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi subtitusi rumput lapang dengan pelepah daun kelapa sawit fermentasi menggunakan mikro organisme lokal (MOL) terhadap kecernaan nutrien dan total digestible nutrient (TDN) pada sapi jantan peranakan. Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah rancangan acak kelompok terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 kelompok. Materi yang digunakan sebanyak 12 ekor sapi jantan peranakan berumur (12-18 bulan) dengan rata-rata bobot badan masing-masing 141 kg - 269 kg. Parameter yang diamati adalah kecernaan nutrien dan TDN. Penggunaan pelepah sawit fermentasi dalam berbagai level berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap nilai kecernaan nutrien dan TDN. Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa perlakuan terbaik terdapat pada P3 yaitu konsentrat + 45 % pelepah daun kelapa sawit fermentasi, mampu menggantikan rumput lapang sebagai bahan pakan. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah pemberian pakan pelepah sawit fermentasi MOL dapat menjadi bahan pakan alternatif pengganti rumput lapang dalam pemeliharaan sapi jantan peranakan. Kata kunci : Fermentasi, Kecernaan nutrien, Pelepah Daun Kelapa Sawit, Rumput Lapang, Total digestible nutrient

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilakukan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh penggunaan tepung daun jati sebagai alternatif pengganti antibiotik sintetis terhadap profitabilitas ayam petelur. Materi yang digunakan pada penelitian ini adalah 240 ekor ayam petelur strain Isa Brown berumur 30 minggu. Ayam petelur tersebut dikelompokkan secara acak ke dalam 6 perlakuan dengan 4 ulangan (masing-masing ulangan menggunakan 10 ekor ayam petelur). Perlakuan yang digunakan terdiri dari perlakuan kontrol: tanpa aditif pakan, AV: 0,05% antibiotik virginiamycin, dan penambahan tepung daun jati pada level 0,4%, 0,8%, 1,2%, dan 1,6%. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) terhadap total konsumsi ransum, biaya ransum, dan total biaya, akan tetapi memberikan pengaruh nyata (P≤0,05) terhadap total massa telur, pendapatan penjualan telur, keuntungan, dan R/C ratio. Penambahan tepung daun jati pada level 1,2% dan 1,6% dapat meningkatkan (P≤0,05) total massa telur, pendapatan penjualan telur, keuntungan, dan R/C ratio jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan control, tetapi perlakuan tersebut tidak berpengaruh nyata (P>0,05) jika dibandingkan dengan perlakuan AV. Kesimpulan peneltiian bahwa tepung daun jati dapat digunakan sebagai aditif pakan untuk meningkatkan profitabilitas ayam petelur dan penggunaan tepung daun jati pada level 1,2% efektif untuk menggantikan antibiotik sintetis. Kata kunci: Aditif pakan, Antibiotik, Fitobiotik, R/C ratio, Tectona grandis L.

Abstract

Banana peels are banana processing wastes that can be used as poultry feedstuff, but bacause of its high crude fiber content, so to reduce the high crude fiber content it need processing such as fermentation. Fermentation process requires soluble carbohydrates such as palm sap. This research aimed to evaluate the effect of different levels of palm sap as an additive on the nutrient composition of banana peels. An experimental method was used in this research with a completely randomized design consisted of five treatments and four replications. The five treatments were banana peel with 0%, 12,5%, 15%, 17,5% and 20% addition of palm sap. The parameters measured were dry matter, crude protein, crude fiber, fat, and ash content. Data were analyzed by analysis of variance and followed by Duncan's Multiple Range Test. The results showed that increasing levels of palm sap reduced the content of dry matter, crude fiber and crude fat, increased crude protein content, but it did not affect the ash content of banana peels. The use of 20% of palm sap produced the highest protein content and the lowest crude fiber content.
