Abstract

The aim of research to knowing the effect of inactived AI (Avian Influenza) vaccine doses to white blood cells and titer of antibodies also to  knowing the most well vaccine doses to white blood cells and titer of antibodies production, already implemented in December 2015 in Sabah Balau,  Tanjung Bintang District, South Lampung, with the amount of duck used were 54 tail a male.  Method of this research was Completely Randomized Design consisting of 6 treatment (P0: control with distilled water provission, P1= administration of inactivated AI vaccine of 0,1 ml; P2= of inactivated AI vaccine doses of 0,2 ml; P3= of inactivated AI vaccine doses of 0,3 ml; P4= of inactivated AI vaccine doses of 0,4 ml; P5=of inactivated AI vaccine doses of 0,5 ml) with repeat 3 times.  The result of analysis of variance showed that the level inactived AI vaccine againts white blood cells (P0= 52,63; P1= 69,78; P2= 69,10; P3= 58,82; P4= 73,83 and P5= 69,10) and antibody titer (P0= 4,06; P1= 3,67; P2= 5,33; P3= 5,00; P4= 3,67 and P5= 4,70) at 5 days old male ducks no significant (p>0.05) because white blood cells are produced every duck is more influenced by maintenance was not good and the sampling process so the duck become stressful and effects the amount of white blood cells in the body.  Antibody titer not effect because sampling process is too short when sampling process are longer excepted to show different levels of antibody titers at each doses. Keywords : Antibody Titer, Avian Influenza, Male Ducks, Vaccine Doses, White Blood Cells

Abstract

Cassava processing into bioethanol potentially generates waste as animal feed, but the content of nutrients is still low. This research aims to discover effect of urea and sulfur addition in solid waste bioethanol fermented by EM-4 on contents of crude protein and fiber. The research used the experimental methods with completely randomized design, factorial pattern 3 × 3 with 3 time of replicates. The first factor, supplementation of Nitrogen is Urea (N1=0%, N2=1,5%, N3=3%) and the second factor is supplementation of sulfur (S1=0%, S2=0,02%, S3=0,04%). Based on the results of variance analysis showed that there is an interaction between urea with sulfur on content of protein crude, but not on fiber crude. Addition of each urea and sulfur showed that the content of crude protein was increased (P<0,05) and the level of crude fiber (P<0,05) was decreased. Fermentation along 4 day on treatment of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% produce crude protein and fiber of 14,44% and 6,97%, respectively. Conclusion, addition of urea 3% and sulfur 0,04% give the good results.Keywords: Bioethanol, EM-4 (Efective Microorganisms4), Crude Protein, Crude Fiber, Sulfur and Urea

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of adding a starter in the making of silage. This study was compiled using completely randomized design with 4 treatments and 3 replications. The treatment in this study is R0 : basal ration, R1 :basal ration + (EM-4 4%), R2 : basal ration + EM-4 who bred 4%, R3 : basal ration + rumen fluid 4%. The result showed the addition of treatment on trial the addition of 4% starter EM-4, EM-4 who bred and rumen fluid very significant effect in the levels of dry matter and organic matter as well as the real impact on the levels of crude protein and ash content. Best silage, silage contained in the basal ration (R0). Keywords: Em-4, Em-4 bred, rumen fluid, chemical quality, silage.

Abstract

This study aims to: 1) determine the effect of kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) flower powder on the microbiological aspects of broiler meat; 2) determine the optimum dose of kecombrang (Nicolaia speciosa Horan) flower powder as a preservative broiler meat. The method used completely randomized design (CRD), consisting of 4 treatments and 5 replications. Treatments are: P0: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 0%; P1: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder doses 2%; P2: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 4%; P3: Carcasses with kecombrang flower powder dose 6%. Data were analyzed variance at 1%. If the results of the analysis show real results, then the test continued with Least Significant Difference (LSD) at 5%.The results showed that administration kecombrang flower powder was highly significant (P <0.01) to total plate count (TPC) and not significant (P> 0.01) on pH, Escherichia coli, and Salmonella. Abstract

The aim of this research was to: (1) investigate the effect of lime and sugar solution at 5% and 10% dosage as sprayer substance of tegal duck eggs on pipping time and hatchability, (2) find out the best effect of kind and dosage solution sprayer to tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability.  The research was conducted from 11th December 2015--9th January 2016 at Beruang St, 12 Kedaton, Bandar Lampung.  Research using a completely randomized design (CRD) with 2x2 of nested model.  The main block is the kind solution (Lime and Sugar) and the partial block is dosage solution (5% and 10%) with 5 replications.  Every unit experimental consist of 3 eggs with average weight at 72±1,8 g/egg with coefficient variation ± 2,45%.  The parameter measured were pipping time and hatchability.  Research data were analyzed by using Anova assumption at level 5%.  The result shows that: (1) lime and sugar solution at 5% and 10% dosage give no significant effect (P>0,05) on tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability, (2) the treatment kind solution (lime and sugar) with dosage solution 5% and 10% not to give contribution yet on the tegal duck eggs pipping time and hatchability. Abstract

The purpose of the research was knowing of difference between conventional and thermos system brooding to respiration rate, heart beat rate, rectal temperature of broiler.  This research was hold on 2015 December in Jati Agung, South Lampung.  Two thousand  DOC of broiler was used in that brooding system, and was taked 3,5 % as sample.  Result of data apllying t-student test in real standart 5 %.  The result of research refers to conventional brooding and thermos system give not significant effect to respiration rate, heart beat rate, and rectal temperature of broiler on 10 and 20 days. Soedarto, S.H., Tembalang, Semarang, Indonesiae-mail : ristisatya357@gmail.com  ABSTRACT The aim of this research is to study the effect of molasses level increase on physical quality and organoleptic of fattening period goat feed in pellet form. Material used in the research is rice bran, cassava peel, elephant grass, tofu waste product, molasses and premix. Completely randomized design was used in a study with 4 replications and 4 treatments, T0 = pellet ration + 0% molases, T1 = pellet ration + 3% molases, T2 = pellet ration + 5% molases, and T3 = pellet ration + 7% molases. Parameters observed were hardness, durability, color, texture and pellet scent. The results showed that the addition of molasses level had significant effect (P<0,05) on the improvement of physical quality of pellet and the decreasement of pellet organoleptic quality. Pellet with the addition of molasses as much as 3% has the best physical and organoleptic quality. Research conclusions recommended that the addition of molasses up to level 3% can provide good effect for the physical quality and organoleptic pellet. Keywords : Molasses Level, Pellet, Physical Quality, Organoleptic Quality.

Abstract

The objectives of the study were (1) to know there was or no interaction between soaking time in bay leaf and type of carcass to the physical quality of broiler meat; (2) To know the duration of optimum immersion for the physical quality of the muscles of the breast and thighs. This research was arranged using Completely Randomized Design (RAL) with factorial pattern. The first factor is the length of meat immersion in bay leaf solution, namely: P0: control; P1 (20 minutes); P2 (40 minutes); P3 (60 minutes). While the second factor is a piece of carcass, namely: K1 (thigh) and K2 (chest). Each treatment was repeated 3 times. The research variables were pH of meat, WHC, and cooking loss. The data obtained were proceed to variance analyze and further tested by BNT  Test for length of  immersion and Tukey test for carcass type at 5% level of significant. The results showed that there was no interaction (P>0,05) between soaking time and carcass cut. The duration of immersion had no significant (P>0,05) effect on pH, WHC, and cooking loss. Carcasses cut of thight and breast have a significant effect (P<0,05) on pH and cooking loss, but are not significant (P>0,05) for WHC. The pH value of the thigh meat is significantly (P<0,5) higher than the breast, but the cooking loss is lower. Keywords :  Physical Quality, Breast, Thight, Broiler, Bay Leaf

Abstract

This study was conducted in December 2014 in Tanjung Bintang District South Lampung Regency. This study aimed to determine the nutritional status of kacang goat based on the feedstuff consumed, crude protein content, and the management of feeding used by the kacang goat farmers in Tanjung Bintang District. This study used qualitative approach with survey method, then it was descriptively analyzed. Farmers interviewed came from six villages namely Jati Baru, Jati Indah, Trimulyo, Srikaton, Budilestari and Serdang. The result of this study showed the feedstuff mostly in the form of forage.  Average dry matter consumption was 2.07 kg/goat/day, even the dry matter need was 0.61 kg/goat/day, and average protein consumption was 0.23 kg/goat/day, even the protein need was 0.07 kg/goat/day.  Nutritional status of kacang goat in Tanjung Bintang district South Lampung Regency has fulfilled.
