Abstract

The aim of this research is to get information of heavy metal content of Pb in goat milk fed with vegetables waste silage which is safe to be consumed by society. The experiments were carried out by using 16 pregnant 2 - 2,5 years old goat who were treated until the mother was lactated. The experimental design used was Completely Randomized Design with 4 treatments and 4 replications. The treatments applied were as follows: T0 = 100% forage (mixture of grass and legume), T1 = 80% forage + 20% vegetables waste silage, T2 = 60% forage + 40% silage vegetables waste, and T3 = 40% forage + 60% waste silage vegetables. The experiment was conducted for 5 months. The research results show that the feed silage vegetables waste very real produce milk production daily higher than the control of grass. The provision of silage vegetables waste very real produce metal Pb levels higher than control and be above threshold SNI 3141.1: 2011. So that it can be concluded that the silage vegetables waste not advisable done by farmers due to metal Pb in goat milk is still not safe to be consumed. Keywords : Silage, Vegetables Waste, Pb, Goat Milk.

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effect of providingforage and concentrate on physiological response and performance of Simental Cross Beef Cattle.  This research was conducted by using Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three treatments and four blocks.  Beef cattle that used are bull of Simental Cross Beef Cattle with the body weight between 280—359 kg.  The treatment of providingforage and two hours late concentrate (P1), providing concentrate and two hours late forage (P2), providing forage together concentrate (P3).  The data in this research is tested by analyzed of variance and continued with Least Significance Difference (LSD).  The result of this research showed that providing forage and concentrate was significant (P<0,05) on the respiration rate,heart rate, body temperature, dry matter intake, average daily gain, and feed conversion ratio.  The providing forage together concentrate (P3) was the best treatment. Abstract

This study was conducted in January 2015 in Tanjung Bintang District South Lampung Regency. This study aimed to determine the nutrient status of peranakan ongole cattle based on the feedstuff intake, nutrient content, and the management of feeding used by the peranakan ongole cattle farmers in Tanjung Bintang District. There were 50 farmers interviewed, came from two villages, such as Budi Lestari (25 farmers), and Jati Baru (25 farmers).  This study used qualitative approach with survey method, then it was descriptively analyzed. The result of this study showed the feedstuff mostly in the form of pasture.  Average dry matter intake was 8,21 kg/cow/day, even the dry matter need was 8,97 kg/cow/day, and average protein intake was 0,72 kg/cow/day, even the protein need was 1,08 kg/cow/day.  Thus, nutrient status of peranakan ongole cattle in Tanjung Bintang District South Lampung Regency was stated undernourishied. Abstract

Effect of Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) in ration of beef cattle on average daily gain (ADG) was studied on November 10th, 2015 up to December 09th, 2015 at Pulung Kencana village, Tulang Bawang Tengah, Subdistrict, Provinsi Tulang Bawang Barat.  The experimental design used was complete randomized block design with three treatments P0 (basal diet), P1 (basal diet + 10% MNS), and P2 (Unila diet + 10% MNS). Result of this research indicated that ADG of beef cattle for P0, P1, P2 was 1,28 kg/head/day; 1,56 kg/head/day; 1,26 kg/head/day, respectively. Average of ration consumption based on dry matter were 9,08 kg/head/day; 9,24 kg/head/day; 9,11 kg/head/day, respectively. Efficiency of ration were 0,1403±0,0180 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1687±0,0234 kg weight/kg ration; 0,1385±0,0271 kg weight/kg ration,  respectively. Income over feed cost (IOFC) were 2,76 ; 3,24 ; 3,18, respectively. It could be concluded that addition of 10% MNS in ration of beef cattle didn’t affect (P>0,05) on ADG, ration consumption, efficiency of ration, and IOFC. Abstract

This research was conducted from May up to June, 2016 at Ettawa grade goat (EGG) development area, Sungai Langka village, Gedong Tataan subdistrict, Pesawaran regency to study chemical quality of EGG milk. Survey method were used in this research. Fifteen tails of EGG at first, second, third, and fourth lactation period as sample research was decided by purposive sampling procedure. Variables observed were fat, protein, solid non fat, and water content. Chemical quality of milk were analysed at Technology of Agriculture Product Laboratory, Politeknik Negeri Lampung (Polinela), Bandarlampung. Chemical quality of the milk was compared  Indonesia National Standard or Standar Nasional Indonesia (SNI) No 01-3141-1998 and Thai Agricultural Standard (TAS) 606-2008. Result of research indicated that fat content of 76.61 % samples (range of fat content 2.52 – 6.20 %) was qualified (standard of SNI was 3,7 %, TAS was 4.0 %). Protein content all samples (range 3.86 – 6.70 %) was qualified (standard of SNI was 2,7 %, TAS was 3.7 %). Solid non fat content all samples (range 9.54 – 11.92%) was qualified (standard of SNI was 8.0 %, TAS was 8.25).  Water content all samples (range 76.28 – 82.48 %) was qualified (standard maximum of SNI was 89 %, standard maximum of TAS was 87 %).It could be concluded that chemical quality of EGG milk was qualified to standard of SNI No 01-3141-1998 and Thai Agricultural Standard (TAS) 606-2008.  Key words: Ettawa Grade Goat, Fat Content, Protein Content, Solid Non Fat Content, Water Content

Abstract

Aim of this study was to know the effect of pegagan (Centella asiatica) on quail production performance. The material used in this study were 200 quail phase layer Coturnix-coturnix japonica strain. The method used was experimental design with completely randomized design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 5 replications. The treatment in this study was the feed control without the addition of pegagan meal (P0); feed control + 0,5% of pegagan meal  (P1); feed control + 1% pegagan meal (P2) and feed control + 1,5% pegagan meal (P3). The variables observed were feed intake (g/bird /day); Hen Day Production (%); feed conversion and egg weight (g/bird/day). The results showed of this research that pegagan meal not significant effect (P>0,01) on feed intake (g/bird/day), Hen day Production (%); feed conversion and egg wight (g/bird/day) in quail production performance. Feed intake, Hen day Production, feed conversion and egg wight best on P3 treatment and advised to do recommended pegagan meal in the feed of quail as much as 1,5% of the total feed. Keywords : Centella asiatica, Feed, Production Performance, Quail

Abstract

Heterosis is the difference between the average results descent crosses with the average results of the parent type.  Productivity of Boerawa and Saburai goat can be improved through crossbreeding program to utilize heterosis effect.  Increased productivity by heterosis occurs due to increased heterozygosity but homozygosity decline. This research aims to: 1) know weaning weight of male Boerawa and Saburai goat; 2) comparing the coefficient of heterosis between male Boerawa and Saburai goat on weaning weight.  This research was conducted on 12th August—13th September 2015 at the farmer group of Pelita Karya 3, Mitra Usaha, and Handayani in Sumberejo District, Tanggamus regency. This research used survey method.  The sampling is done by using purposive sampling.  The number of samples each 30 individuals male Boerawa and Saburai.  The data obtained by the secondary data from recording data belongs to a group of farmers that include the name of farmer group, breeder, goat breed, age of the parent during childbirth, birth weight, type of birth, sex, weaning age, and weaning weight.Data were analyzed using student’s t-test on the significantly level 5% or 1%. The results of this research are : (1)  the average of birth weight, weaning weight, and weaning weight adjusted of male Boerawa are 3.02±0.20 kg, 16.77±0.51 kg, and 20.82±0.71 kg and male Saburai goat are 3.36±0.31 kg, 17.86±0.79 kg, and 21.45±0.55 kg.  (2) heterosis coefficient of male Boerawa and Saburai goat highly significant (P˂0,01).  The average of heterosis coefficient Saburai goat (2.35±1.55) is lower than Boerawa goat (6.19±1.98). Abstract

The  research was conducted to study the ability of mulberry leave meal addition concentrates on the digestibility  nutrient  of Ongole Grade. This experiment used a randomized block design, with 4 treatments and 4 blocks. Treatments consisted of P1 (native grass and concentrate feed in the form of mulberry leaves meal and concentrate complete), P2 (native grass and concentrate feed in the form of mulberry leaves meal and corn concentrate), P3 (native grass and concentrate feed in the form of mulberry leaves meal and rice bran concentrate), P4 (native grass and concentrate feed in the form of mulberry leaves meal and concentrate tapioca waste). The experiment was conducted for 4 months with the adaptation periods for 2 weeks. Parameters measured were digestibility of dry matter (KCBK) and organic matter (KCBO), . The results showed that the mulberry leave meal addition on different concentrate did  significantly (P<0,05) on digestibility of dry matter (KCBK) and organic matter (KCBO). It is concluded that based on the nutrient digestibility, mulberry leave meal concentrate can be combined with a single concentrate such as corn, cassava waste meal or complete concentrate. Abstract

This study aims to investigate the physiological responses mojosari duck females who were given rations with different nutrient content.  This study was conducted over three months from September to November 2015 held at the Laboratory of Animal Nutrition and Feed and enclosure Integrated Laboratory of the University of Lampung. Number of female ducks used as many as 64 birds and a cage 16 plots so that each plot contained 4 female ducks. Data were collected on the total number of ducks that exist in each treatment. Grouping ducks by weight. In the first group with body weight (125-150 g), group 2 (151-175 g), group 3 (176-200 g), group 4 (201-225 g). Ducks were divided into four treatment diets with different nutrient content, namely R1, R2, R3, and R4. The experimental design used is Design Group (RK). The data obtained were analyzed using analysis of variance. Based on the results of this study concluded that ration with different nutrient content was not significant (P> 0.05) on physiological responses mojosari duck female. Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect ofthe type of protein source feed material in the ration, based on palm oil waste and forage against male local rabbits weight increase.  This study use completely randomized design with three treatment and four group. The rabbits that used was male local rabbits with body  weight average  on group 1) 210-250g, group 2) 260-300g, group 3) 310-350, group 4)360-400g. The treatment that given in this study was R0= basalt ration     ( palm oil fiber 0,3%, palm oil leaf forage 0,7 % and palm oil oilcake 27 %, bran 32%, corn 40%), R1 = R0 + 15% cassava leaf, R2 = R1 + 3% chicken feather flour. This study data be examined with analysis of variance and followed with least significant difference test. The result of this study showed that type adding feed protein based on palm oil waste and forage does not significantly (effect) with male local rabbits weight increase. Based on palm waste and forage that added with chicken feather flour hydrolized  protein source materials (R2) was the best treatment to increase male local rabbits weight.
