Abstract

This study aims to analyze the red chili marketing system in Lampung Province as seen from the market structure, market behavior and market performance. This research method is a survey method conducted in South Lampung Regency and Pesawaran Regency. The determination of respondents was carried out using accidental sampling method with a total of 67 red chili farmers. While the determination of trader respondents is done using snowball sampling technique where the implementation is in a chain that starts with conducting interviews to red chili farmers, then farmers will mention traders who become the next respondents. Research data were obtained from October to December 2023. The data analysis method used is the structure, conduct and performance (SCP) method. The analysis of market structure and market behavior is done descriptively qualitative while market performance is analyzed quantitatively by calculating marketing margin, farmer share, and Profit Margin Ratio. The results of market performance calculations show that the most efficient channel is channel II with consideration of the value of farmers share obtained is higher, the value of marketing margin is lower, the chain of channel II is shorter and the price received by end consumers is smaller than the other two channels.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze: (1) profitability, (2) risks and mitigation actions in the instant ginger agroindustry. This study employs a case study method on the instant ginger agroindustry at UMKM Gendis Ayu Jahe, Tulang Bawang Udik District, Tulang Bawang Barat Regency. The research location was determined purposively, considering that the agroindustry is actively producing instant ginger. The respondents in this study are the owner and five employees of UMKM Gendis Ayu Jahe. Data collection was conducted from January to February 2024. The data analysis methods used in this research are profitability analysis and risk analysis using the House of Risk (HOR) method. The results show that (1) UMKM Gendis Ayu Jahe is profitable as the R/C ratio is greater than 1, and (2) the priority risk agents in UMKM Gendis Ayu Jahe are the insufficient number of raw material suppliers, fluctuations in product order quantities, scarcity of red ginger as the main raw material, the low capability of suppliers to meet red ginger needs, and sudden increases in demand volume. The priority mitigation actions at UMKM Gendis Ayu Jahe are improving relationships and communication with raw material suppliers, forming partnerships with red ginger farmers, implementing a make-to-stock production system, diversifying products using alternative raw materials, and Expanding the search area for regions that produce red ginger

Abstract

The selling price of cassava is still a major problem that always arises from year to year.  Low selling prices below cassava production costs cause losses for farmers.  This research aims to analyze the cost of production (HPP) of cassava and its relationship with cassava production factors in Lampung province.  This research was conducted in Lampung Province using a survey method with a total of 210 cassava farmers consisting of cassava farmers in East Lampung, Central Lampung and West Tulang Bawang Regencies.  These three areas were chosen because they are cassava production centers in Lampung Province.  The analysis used for the cost of production uses the full costing and variable costing methods, apart from that the analysis of the relationship to production factors is analyzed using multiple linear regression using the ordinary least squares (OLS) method.  The amount of profit or loss borne by farmers is analyzed using R/C or the comparison of total revenue obtained with total costs incurred.  Based on the results of the study, it was found that the variable costing HPP for cassava was IDR 453/kg and the full costing HPP was IDR 698/kg.  Income from cash costs of cassava farming per hectare is IDR 7,410,379.11/ha and income from total costs is IDR 1,711,995.55/ha with an R/C value for cash costs of 2.06 and R/C for total costs of 1.03, which means that cassava farming in Lampung Province is profitable to cultivate.  Apart from that, production factors that are significantly related to the cost of production are land area and seed prices.  Both have a positive influence on the Ubikayu HPP in Lampung Province. keywords: Full Costing,Production Factors, Profit

Abstract

The aim  of this research is to analyze technical efficiency and technical inefficiency, profitability and income of red chili  cultivation businesses in Lampung province. This research was carried out in South Lampung and Pesawaran Regencies. Respondents were identified using a simple random sampling method from a total of 67 chili producers. Survey data was collected from October to December 2023. Technical efficiency and inefficiency were analyzed using the stochastic frontier method, efficiency was analyzed using the dual marginal cost function method, and agricultural productivity was calculated using agricultural income analysis. The research results show that red chili producers in Lampung Province are  technically efficient, with an efficiency score 94.10%. Factors that influence the technical inefficiency of red chili  cultivation are age, number of family members and farming experience. The profitability of growing chilies is less than  10%. The monetary income from cultivating red chilies in Lampung Province is IDR 29,595,410/0.28 ha and the R/C value of monetary costs is 3.3. Total income from red chili  cultivation is IDR 26,203,341/0.28 ha with an R/C value of 2.5.  It means that planting red chilies in Lampung Province is profitable.  Keywords: Efficiency, farming, red chili
