Jurnal Ilmu Ilmu Agribisnis: Journal of Agribusiness Science is published by the Department of Agribusiness, Faculty of Agriculture, University of Lampung, in collaboration with PERHEPI, the Indonesian Agricultural Economist Association. The first printed Journal was published in 2013 and the online version started in May 2018 edition. The scopes include agribusiness, agricultural economics, agricultural development, rural sociology, agricultural extension, food security, and other subjects related to agriculture and society. This Journal is published four times a year, February, May, August, and November.

Abstract

This study aims to find out the extension worker competencies of organic rice innovation, the level of diffusion of the innovation, and factors related to the diffusion in farmer society in Fajar Esuk Urban Village Pringsewu Subdistrict.  The location of this study was chosen purposively in Fajar Esuk Urban Village with 11 respondents.  Data of this research were collected in August 2017 with  a survey method.  The research used descriptive analysis and nonparametric statistic Rank Spearman correlation test.  The results of this research showed that the extension worker competencies on diffusion of organic rice cultivation innovation in farmer society is quite competent (middle class).  The level of diffusion innovation of organic rice cultivation is in a medium class.  Innovation characteristics variable (X2) has a significant correlation with diffusion of organic rice cultivation.  However, the extension worker competencies(X1), society support (X3) and farmer’s perception about organic rice cultivation (X4) have no significant correlation with diffusion organic rice cultivation innovation in farmer society.Key words :competence, cultivation, diffusion, innovation, organic rice

Abstract

The aim of this research are to analyze the level of food security, the factors that affect the level of food security, and efforts to increase the level of food security of fisherman household. The location of this research is chosen purposively in Sukajaya Lempasing Village, Teluk Pandan Subdistrict, Pesawaran Regency in which respondents are 51 fisherman households. The data of this research was primary data and secondary data, collected in February – May 2018 and analyzed by cross-classification between the share of food expenditure and energy adequacy level, ordinal logistic regression, and descriptive qualitative analysis. The results of the research showed that the majority of respondent (68.63%) were classified as less food, and the rest were classified as food secure (13.73%), vulnerable to food (5.88%), and food insecure (11.76%). The affecting factors on the level of food security were formal education level of housewives and household food expenditure.  The efforts to increase the level of food security by Government were through monitoring food availability and food reserves, developing food distribution and stabilization of food prices, Program Keluarga Harapan (PKH), and Raskin.  Whereas, the efforts by fisherman household themselves were food loan (92.16%) and changing dietary habit (7.84%).Key words: cross-classification, fisherman household, food security

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the contribution of catfish cultivation enlargement to household income and the welfare of catfish cultivators household.  The research data was collected in Sub-District of Natar of South Lampung regency in December 2017 - January 2018. Respondents in this research were 30 cultivators of catfish enlargement, chosen on purpose for they have been actively running their business and 4 expert people in catfish cultivation.  Primary data was obtained by interviewing the respondents, while secondary data was obtained from several related institutions. Collected household income was included cultivation income of catfish, off-farm income, and non-farm income.  The level of household welfare was analyzed by three criterias namely Sajogyo, Badan Pusat Statistik (BPS) and Badan Kependudukan dan Keluarga Berencana Nasional (BKKBN).  The  result showed that the average income of catfish cultivators business contributed 44,27 percent of the total household income of Rp52.340.376,00 per year. The household welfare level based on Sajogyo showed that 20 percent of households were in the almost-poor category, 50 percent in moderate, and 30 percent in decent living class. Based on BPS and BKKBN category showed that 20 percent of households were in the less prosperous and 80 percent were prosperous.Key words: catfish, income, welfare

Abstract

The objectives of this research were to know the composition of the use of various types of flour, the pattern purchase of wheat flour and factors that affected the demand of wheat flour by fried food sellers in Bandar Lampung.  The research was conducted intghe city of Bandar Lampung purposely.  The samples that used in this study were 60 sellers chosen by proportional random sampling method. Research data was analyzed by descriptive and inferential statistics using tendency size central and regression linear analysis. The result showed that other types of flour that used to make fried food was rice flour and sagu flour, but the use of wheat flour were more dominant than any other flour. Rice flour and sagu flour used as complements of the  wheat flour. The average purchase frequency of wheat flour was 5.53 time per week, with the average amount 68.27 kg per week. Brand of wheat flour most often used was Tambang and  the sellers choose the traditional market to buy the wheat flour. The factors that positively affected the demand of wheat flour were the price of cabbage, the number of buyer and the turnover.  The factors that negatively added the demand of wheat flour were the price of wheat flour and the price of cooking oil. Key words: composition, demand, pattern,wheat flour

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to analyze level of Agricultural Extension Workers (AEWs)’s performance in Technical Implementation and factors related to the level of the performance in working area of Jati Agung Subdistrict of Lampung Selatan District,. This research was conducted in Jati Agung Subdistrict of Lampung Selatan District in September-October 2017. Respondents were 76 randomly selected rice farmers in the area. Data analysis uses descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results  indicated that the level of performance of AEWs in Technical Implementation is included ina medium category. Reward system is significantly related to the level of AEWs’ performance, while motivation level, income level, education level, number of farmers, and distance of residency are not significantly related to the level of AEWs’ performance in Technical Implementation Unit Jati Agung Subdistrict.Key words: AEW, performance, Technical implementation unit

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to assess implementation of Upsus Pajale Program, participation of farmer group members, and analyse factors related to the participation of farmers group members in the Upsus Pajale Program. This is a survey which is purposively undertaken in West Metro Sub district, involving 52 farmer households. The study was carried out from September to October 2017. Data are analyzed using qualitative-descriptive analysis and Rank Spearman correlation test. The results show that factors related to participation of farmer group members were farmers frequency in attending agricultural extension meeting and level of motivation. However, farmer’s age, formal education level, and land ownership have no relation with participation. Overall, participation of farmer group members in Upsus Pajale Program in West Metro Sub district is quite active.Key words: participation of famer group members, Upsus Pajale

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the management of raw materials procurement, management of supply chain, production performance, and also to analyze the internal and the external environmental conditions of banana chips agroindustries. This research was conducted in Sungai Langka Village of Pesawaran Regency. This location was selected purposively with consideration that Sungai Langka Village was the only village in Pesawaran Regency which was built by University of Lampung  as Village Laboratory that actively produce banana chips. The total respondents were 6 people consisting of one owner and one worker from each industry. Data were collected in December 2017 until January 2018. This research is using descriptive qualitative and descriptive quantitative methods. The results showed that banana chips agroindustries did not procure raw materials on time and exact amount.  However, management of supply chain and performance of banana chips agroindustries in Sungai Langka Village have been going well. The average productivity was 11.10 kg/working day and the average capacity was 78 percent.Key words: agroindustry, banana chips, environmental, and performance

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the efficiency of paddy marketing system and value added of rice in Pesawaran District.  This research was conducted by survey method.  The research location is chosen purposively i Kota Jawa Village and Gunung Sari Village, Way Khilau Subdistrict Pesawaran District with consideration that the location is one of the central of paddy production.  The samples of this research were 51 paddy farmers who were selected by simple random sampling. The research data was collected in June–July 2017 and analyzed by descriptive and quantitative analysis.  The method used in this research is the analysis of the model of S-C-P (structure, conduct, and performance) and used Hayami method to determine the value- added of the rice.  The S-C-P model was used to analysis marketing system efficiency.  The results showed that paddy marketing system in Pesawaran District was efficient, it could be seen from the producer’s share who greater than 50%.  There were three rice milling unit (RMU) in research location and all of that rice miling unit gave a positive value-added to owner.
