Abstract

Analyzed the resistant starch content of some types of sago starch in embarrassment with heating temperature variations have been conducted. In this analysis was done processing sago starch suspension, determination of the fat content of flour, qualitative test and analysis of starch digestibility and resistant starch manufacture of some types of sago starch in Maluku (sago ihur, sashes, molat) by varying the temperature of the heating method. The results were obtained moisture content of the sample base for this type of sago ihur 49.61%, 45.85% and sashes molat 47.77% while for the corn starch to the type ihur 9.329%, 6,245% and Molat sashes 5,793% while the tannin-free corn starch to type ihur 5.362%, 5,407% and molat sashes 4,719% and ash content of corn starch to the type ihur 0.09656%, 0.0761% and molat sashes 0.07146%. Glucose levels in samples of corn starch (type ihur, sashes and Molat) is hydrolyzed by the enzyme pancreatin is greater than the resistant starch glucose levels ranged from 1-1.4 mg / mL whereas for resistant starch samples with smaller temperature variation which is equal to 0.6-1.0 mg / mL.

Abstract

The research about biodiesel produced from cow's fat using sodium hydroxide (NaOH) as catalyst has been done. Biodiesel produced from cow's fat was done through transesterification process using methanol 1:12 which priory react with 0.3% NaOH as catalyst due to oil and methanol weight. The transesterification process was conducted for 5 hours at 65°C. Biodiesel from cow's fat is characterisized by GC-MS and ASTM (American Society for Testing and Materials) method. Methyl ester which produced from cow's Fat fat are 31.67% of stearic acid, 25.67% of palmitate acid, and 22.68% of oleate acid. Biodisel from cow's fat are qualified as diesel fuel and biodiesel characterisized by ASTM for specific density (0.8705 kg/m3), kinematic viscosity (4,481 mm2/s), flash point (176,5 0C), pour point (21 0C), and Conradson's carbon residu (0.0139% wt).

Abstract

Screening phytochemical and bioactivity test of breadfruit leaves (Arthocarpus altilis) have been done. The samples were used in the study extracted by maceration method with some solvent polarity enhanced, there are: n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol. The bioactivity test use BST (Brine Shrimp Lethality test). The activity assay use brine shrimp A. salina Leach. Content of the secondary metabolites in four crude extract of leaves of breadfruit (A. altilis) are alkaloids, steroids, terpenoids, and flavonoids. Whereas only phenolic compounds contained in the crude extract of chloroform and methanol. The saponins content only in the crude extract methanol. The fourth test of bioactivity of the crude extract of leaves of breadfruit there are: n-hexane, chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol had LC50: > 1000 mg / mL; 387.436 mg / mL; 415.623 mg / mL; and 392.826 mg / mL respectively. The crude extract of chloroform, ethyl acetate, and methanol classified active in the BST test to brine shrimp A. salina, while the crude extract n-hexane classified as inactive. The Leaves of breadfruit (A. altilis) has potential to be used as medicine.

Abstract

Kinetics studies and adsorption isotherms of Pb metal have been conducted on activated clay salts of ammonium nitrate (NH4NO3). Clays used are taken from Ouw village, Central Maluku. Clay activated by soaking in a solution of NH4NO3 700 ppm for 5 hours, then filtering and heating in a furnace at 550 oC for 4 hours. The optimum adsorption of metal ions Pb (II) by activated clay ammonium nitrate occurs at pH 4 with a contact time of 4 hours and followed the Freundlich adsorption isotherm pattern with a Kf value of 1.6193 x 10-8 mg/g and n value of 0.2059. Pb adsorption kinetics followed the pseudo-second-order Lagergren equation with the value of the adsorption rate constant (k2, ads) of 0.1248 g mg-1 min-1 and Xe value of 4.4783 mg/g.

Abstract

Study on separation of ions chromium metal and copper in ultrabasic material located in the village to of Monapa subdistrict Lasusua Regency Kolaka Utara Province Sulawesi Tenggara was conducted. The aim of this study was to determine the ability of the ligand 2-(aminometil) pyridine to separate chromium metals and copper to pure metals and its application to separate the chromium metals (Cr) and copper (Cu) in ultrabasic material from the village of Puncak Monapa subdistrict Lasusua Regency Kolaka Utara Province Sulawesi Tenggara by means of extraction method. The concentration of ions chromium metal (Cr) and copper (Cu) of the pure metals are extracted respectively 10 ppm, and the concentration of the ligand 2-(aminometil) pyridine is 10 ppm. For concentration ion chromium metal (Cr) and copper (Cu) in ultrabasic material with 20x and 30x dilution is 8.3875 and 1.3590 and 3.50 ppm and 2,001 ppm for the ions copper metal (Cu). Results of this research shomush that the ability of ligand 2-(aminometil) pyridine for extracting chromium metals (Cr) and copper (Cu) for a single pure metal has a percent extraction (%E) are respectively 79.375 % and 82.37 %. Separation ability of ions chromium metal (Cr) and ions copper (Cu) mixed are 77.625% and 79.96%. For its application in separating ions chromium metal (Cr) and copper (Cu) in ultrabasic material to 20 time dilution extraction are 74.51% and 71.35%, and 30 time dilution are 69.28% and 69.71%. Based on the results of the study ligand 2-(aminometil) pyridine is relatively better for ions copper metal (Cu) for extraction ions of pure metal and relatively similar to ultrabasic material.

Abstract

This research was carried to determine the influence of soft drink with tooth, determine power to retard of NaF at the demineralization of tooth enamel and to determine of Calcium and Phosphate total which dissolve. The research was carried out with to flood the tooth in soft drink without to add a soft drink and with to add a soft drink at the certain time variation. The demineralization of tooth enamel to see at the decrease of tooth weight before and after flooded. The degree of Calcium in soft drink to measure with Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometry (AAS) and the degree of Phosphate in soft drink to measure with Ultra Violet-Visible Spectrophotometry. The result of research shows that the more long time tooth contacts with soft drink, the more much Calcium and Phosphate which dissolve. And with to add the Fluor with concentration 1 ppm can to harm demineralization of tooth enamel.
