Abstract

Many factors that determine success in the learning process are interrelated. These factors are: teachers, students, curriculum, learning, media, infrastructure and environment. The teacher's role is to design learning strategies that can make students always study well and enthusiastically. Such a learning strategy will have a positive impact on achieving optimal learning achievement. This research aims to determine: (1) the learning outcomes of students' Jurisprudence taught using the TPS learning strategy with expository learning strategies, (2) the learning outcomes of Jurisprudence students with different self-control, and (3) the effect of learning strategies and self-control on learning outcomes Student Fiqh. The research was conducted at Madrasah Aliyah Al-Washliyah, Lima Puluh Pesisir District, Batubara Regency. This research method is a quantitative research with quasi-experimental research methods. The research population is 3 classes with a sample of 1 research class as the experimental class and 1 class as the control class. Data collection instruments were multiple choice test and questionnaires were given to students who were research respondents, then data analysis techniques were two-way analysis of variance. The research findings show: (1) the average Jurisprudence learning outcomes of students taught using the think pair share learning strategy is higher than the average Jurisprudence learning outcomes of students taught with expository learning strategies. Thus the think pair share learning strategy is more effectively applied in Jurisprudence learning in order to improve students' Jurisprudence learning outcomes without paying attention to differences in self-control, (2) the average learning outcomes of students with high self-control who are taught using the think pair share learning strategy and expository learning strategies are higher than the average learning outcomes of students with low self-control, and (3) there is the influence of learning strategies and student self-control which have a different effect on learning outcomes of Jurisprudence. In connection with the findings of this study, it can be recommended for teachers to implement the think pair share learning strategy. Through the implementation of the think pair share learning strategy, it is hoped that teachers can arouse and motivate students' involvement and active participation in learning

Abstract

Pandemic has brought everyone to the highest climax in the development of learning innovations, including digital learning. The popularity of web digital learning applications and pages, video conferencing, digital quizzes, to audio-visual-based learning tools has brought civilization to various forms of learning. This study aims to analyze the implementation of the use of web-blog-based digital learning media in mathematics learning in junior high schools. This research was conducted in the first week of March 2023. This research used a qualitative method, with data collection techniques in the form of observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The researcher in this case functions as the main tool for collecting data with the main data collection techniques through interviews, explanations and documentation. The results of the analysis in research on the use of web-blogs in learning mathematics show that there is ease in strengthening concept understanding, learning that is flexible and can be accessed repeatedly, the time for giving material and assignments is concise, and motivating the use of gadgets positively. Other results show obstacles in the form of resource capabilities that have not been maximized, minimal availability of devices, limited internet access based on region and economic capacity, to limited abilities of students and educators in using digital media. The analysis above provides a description to educators in terms of selecting learning media when analyzing material in the preparation of lesson implementation plans, so that the use of web-blog media can be adjusted and varied according to resources and learning needs.

Abstract

The current acceleration of digitalization at least erodes the religious humanist values in children. This study aims to analyze the strategy of instilling basic religious humanist values in early childhood at RA Al-Hidayah Sunggal. This study uses a qualitative approach with the method of case studies (case study), data collection instruments using the method of observation, interviews, study documentation. Furthermore, the data were analyzed using data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of this study concluded that first, the basic religious humanist values that were instilled in RA Al-Hidayah Sunggal students were the value of freedom, the value of creativity, the value of cooperation, the value of honesty, and the value of self-actualization. Second, the method of instilling basic religious humanist values in early childhood is carried out using four methods, namely the BCM (Playing, Story and Singing) Method, the habituation method, the exemplary method, and the advice method. Third, the media in instilling basic religious humanist values in early childhood, namely using the media of people, games, pictures, story books, animated films, laptops, projectors, music and motion.

Abstract

This research was conducted to see the influence of reading and writing literacy on the mathematical problem solving abilities of UINSU Medan mathematics education students. This study used a quasi-experimental design by taking the smallest sampling unit, namely students from two classes, PMM-1 for the reading literacy class group and PMM-2 for the writing literacy class group. The sampling technique for this study was saturated sampling, with a sample of 35 students per class. Withdrawal of decisions from this study was carried out using the t test. The results of this study are: (1) there is an effect of reading literacy on the mathematical problem solving abilities of UINSU Medan mathematics education students; (2) there is an influence of writing literacy on the mathematical problem solving abilities of UINSU Medan mathematics education students; (3) there are differences in reading and writing literacy towards the mathematical problem solving abilities of UINSU Medan mathematics education students.

Abstract

This paper discusses the de-authorization of discourse on the power of “haba teungku”(Tengku said) after dayah modernization in Aceh. Implication of modernization, the authority of the “haba teungku” has faded so it is not based on “kiban kheun teungku . This paper aims to describe the authority of haba Tengku be faded the modernization and furthermore, the described haba Tengku is analyzed with Michel Foucault’s theory. Research on dayah in Aceh reveals the strong authority of discourse on the power of haba Tengku. But so far, studies that address this theme have not paid sufficient attention of weakening of discourse authority of haba Tengku after entering school at the dayah institution. This is qualitative research which data collection through observation, interview and documentation , analyzed through Michel Foucault's theory. This article concludes that: First, changes in power relations in dayah have led changes of power space. Second, this episteme is formed through three discursive stages, namely: positivity with an agreement between teungku and government, a priori historically looking at the terms and conditions that must be carried out by dayah institution carrying out modernization and archives of the regulations must be carried out by stakeholder of dayah institution.

Abstract

It is unquestionable that research and thesis writing anxiety has negative impacts on academic success. Such academic anxiety needs a serious concern by measuring it as a beginning step to determine appropriate research and thesis writing strategies. Therefore, this study aimed at measuring the types and levels concerning anxiety towards research and undergraduate thesis writing among students in an Islamic college. Through a mixed-methods design, 450 students from various majors at a state-owned college were asked to complete a questionnaire and 10 students were involved in a semi-structured interview. The quantitative data were analyzed by determining means, SD, and frequency levels and a content analysis was applied to analyze qualitative data. The results revealed perceived utility and competence as the most common type experienced by students during a field research and thesis writing. On the other hand, the students are able to work with library-related practice as it has the lowest mean score. Regarding qualitative result, it is stated that there are problem that emerge during the field research and thesis writing, including fear of writing, library, statistics, and field research. Fortunately, the students are able to cope with the problems by undertaking several related strategies, including conducting regular practice, comprehending online resources, and utilizing online application. In short, it is implied that such academic anxiety can be avoided by the students and it is recommended that future research has to focus on determining research and thesis writing strategies.

Abstract

This research is based on the low percentage of science learning outcomes in elementary schools. The aim of this study is to improve students' understanding of science concepts and learning outcomes in grade V in elementary school Medan City. This will be achieved through the application of an ICT-based drill and practice learning model using the Classroom Action Research method, specifically John Elliot's PTK model. The data collection techniques, including tests and non-tests (observation and documentation), were conducted in two cycles. The final result showed an average completeness percentage of 90%, This study shows that the implementation of an appropriately applied and structured ICT-based drill and practice learning model can improve the learning outcomes of grade V elementary school students, The findings also demonstrate an improvement in students' concept understanding and learning outcomes when applying an ICT-based drill and practice learning model.

Abstract

The implementation of multicultural education can be a solution of conflict and disharmony in the society. This study aimed to analyzed models, results and constraints of multicultural education in elementary schools in Indonesia. The method used was Systematic Literature Review (SLR). The techniques used in this study were documenting and revising articles. The process of analyzed the quality of data by means of extraction, analyzed and carried out synthesis. The assessment technique for assessing the validity of the data was check and recheck. The results of this study indicated that the multicultural education in elementary schools has various ways for conveying material such as pop up book media containing diversity and writing poetry based on multiculturalism. Multicultural education can form students to be a tolerant person among Indonesian who have various cultures. The constraints experienced by students such as facilities. This study has three suggestions. First, elementary school teachers must be able to choosing appropriate multicultural material for learning. Second, there is a need for elementary school teachers in the process of integrating multicultural elements into learning activities. Third, the need for government support for curricula related to effective multicultural education. This study described the learning model, results and constraints of multicultural education in elementary schools of Indonesia.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine the implementation of information services as well as placement and distribution services in fostering student interests and talents at SMA Muhammadiyah 18 Sunggal. fostering student interests and talents at SMA Muhammadiyah 18 Sunggal? Second, how is the implementation of placement and distribution services in fostering student interests and talents at SMA Muhammadiyah 18 Sunggal school? Third, what are the supporting and inhibiting factors in the implementation of Placement and Distribution services in fostering student interests and talents at the Muhammadiyah 18 Sunggal High School. in a classical way and continuous assistance is carried out, in various problems experienced by students such as in the placement of interests and talents according to their fields. Based on the results of interviews with school principals, deputy principals and BK teachers who have performed these services, it was found that information services as well as placement and distribution services can improve the development of student interests and talents at SMA Muhammadiyah 18 Sunggal.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of creativity of students in making media when learning is implemented and the lack of use of media in teaching practices by students during PLP activities in elementary schools. This study aims to determine student creativity by applying Dream Book media. The research method used is quantitative research methods. The population used in this study were 4th semester students consisting of 6 classes with purposive sampling technique. The independent variable is Media Dream book while the dependent variable is student creativity. Hypothesis testing was carried out using the t test (Independent Sample T-Test), which was previously also tested for normality tests and homogeneity tests. The results of this study get a sig. 2-tailed of 0.000 where < than 0.05. So it can be concluded that there is an effect of using dream book media on the creativity of fourth semester students of class F PGSD.
