Abstract

Opening the design department at SMKN 4 / SMSR Padang is a good and progressive step for this school. Many people have understood about designs such as: kitchen set design, living room, family room and others. It is a good opportunity for students of  SMKN 4 / SMSR Padang.  The student will be able to open their own job by the presence of applications for interior design. Responding to the important role of design schools in Padang is an effort in solving design problems in our community environment, especially in Padang. It has become awareness for all of us both from the school and stakeholders, that design graduates are the heart of a company. By providing counseling about these design principles, teachers and students can understand the importance of environmental design around us and should be applied in a tangible (three-dimensional) form.

Abstract

The training of straw sculpture in East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) is an effort to provide education and experience to the community that does not have the creativity in exploring straw into sculpture works. This training is a straw festival activity with the theme "Sibiduk Sehaluan" in which the works of straw sculpture are exhibited during the activity. This activity aims to provide knowledge, skills, and creativity about the process of making straw sculpture, ranging from things that are technical, design, to conceptual. The method of implementation consists of material exposure, demonstration, and guidance. The results of the training during the activity including: conceptualizing straw sculpture works, knowing the process and technique of making sculpture frameworks, gaining experience and knowledge on how to sketch and present their works and gain knowledge about the exhibition implementation activities.

Abstract

Nagari Jawi-Jawi is one area that has a very rich artistic, cultural and literary potential. This is evidenced by the stretching of the activities of cultural arts centers which are held almost every month. To become a developed Cultural Village and tourism destination, there should be attention from the local government, universities, and the private sector to develop its potential. The target to be achieved from the implementation of this program for the people of Nagari Jawi-Jawi, is Services and Training. The approach to help partners, in this case Nagari Jawi Jawi in the effort to be Cultural Village, is conducted in form of counseling and training carried out by the method of lecture and demonstration.

Abstract

Along with the development of knowledge and technology, traditional medicines has been proven to be useful in a laboratory test and guaranteed safe for consumption and can cure diseases without causing side effects. Efforts by the community are also recommended by the government in improving health status, one of which is the utilization of Family Medicinal Plants. We can use community service as part of an independent health promotion effort for the community. The purpose of this community service is that the community knows the benefits of plants as medicinal plants so that the community can cultivate and preserve various medicinal plants so that they can reduce medical costs. This community service uses a participatory model. The results of this community service show that the community has begun to use and cultivate Family Medicinal Plants (TOGA) as well as productive plants. In the Sukarami sub-district, vacant land has been used for various plants ranging from ginger, turmeric, kencur, durian, guava, soursop, longan, rambutan, and jackfruit. The purpose of this community service is that the community knows the benefits of plants as medicinal plants so that the community can cultivate and preserve various medicinal plants to reduce medical costs. Abstract

The training of dance property making aims to improve knowledge and skills of SDN 47 teachers in making dance property by utilizing used goods as an effort to reduce waste in the environment, especially in SD 47 environment around residential areas. The target of this activity is nine teachers. The method used in this training consists of three stages, namely the preparation, implementation, and evaluation. In this activity, the dominant used item is cardboard which is made into animal and plant themed property. The teacher is divided into two groups, namely the first group for making animal theme properties (bees) and the second group for themed plants (flowers). The teacher makes a different property from the example of PPM team with a more complex detail property. The conclusion of this activity is to provide teachers with skills in making dance property by utilizing used goods.

Abstract

The training to improve the expertise in designing graphic design by utilizing Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Premiere programs aims to provide skills in making attractive graphic designs. The mastery of the ability to design electronic advertising media with social media applications (social media) controlled by human resources graphic design programs by graphic designers is expected to spark interest in more eager to develop capabilities, and ultimately improve the quality of overall digital graphic design. The method applied in this activity is the method of presentation regarding the introduction of software, its usefulness, and its application in making interactive learning media, the workshop / demonstration method regarding the operationalization of the program and the practical method of making technical tips and tricks directly for participants in accordance with their respective sub-work each with the use of Adobe programs. Evaluation method by observing differences in the ability of designers before and after training. The results achieved an increase in creative and artistic abilities. Evaluation of the results seen from the assessment of practical tasks that illustrate the success of the material that has been presented. Besides that, the participants' performance and participation were observed.
