This research aims to map the studentsâ€™ personality profile in the guidance and Counseling Department, School of Education, State University of Jakarta. The research, conducted as from July through September 2008, belongs to descriptive research with quantitative approach. The total population covered 107 regular students registered at the Department in 2008. The samples were appointed by using proporsional random sampling technique. The data were collected applying Mini Markers anquete and anylized statistically. The results indicate, based on Big Five Personality theory the prominant personality character is agreeableness and the lowest is carefulness.

The purpose of this study is to obtain information on the relationship between PAIKEM intsructional strategy and the school final examination of international standard (UASBN) in SD Islam Al-Azhar 20 Jakarta. This descriptive research conducted from April through July 2011 employed survey method and used anquette, interview, observation, and data documentation techniques. The research samples included 35 students of the sixth grade to join UASBN and the teachers of Indonesian language, math, and natural science. The findings show (a) the PAIKEM instruction strategy is implemented effectively, (b) the studentsâ€™ scores in UASBN are categorized very good, and (c) there is a ppositive relationship between the instructional strategy and the scores in UASBN.

The aim of this study is to explore the teachersâ€™s competency in teaching students with hearing impairments within inclusive educational settings. This research conducted from February 2012 through June 2013. Method of the research is qualitative descriptive, observation and interview were employed to gather the necessary data towards 5 teachers where there is at least one student with hearing impairment in their classroom across all educational level. The result shows that the teachers do not have the competency about teaching the hearing impairments. The teachers have never been trained on teaching and instruction of children with hearing impairment, because the training based on contextual learning has not been previous. The research results some implication and recomendation.

This classroom action research have purpose to improving the interest in music learning from music ansamble on 5th grade in SDN Pulogebang Pagi, the research was conducted as from April through May 2012. The research are 30 students were studied at there. This classroom research was implemented through stages of planning, action performance, observations, and reflections as a basic of re-planning in the next cycle. Based on researchâ€™s obtained the conclusions that using the recorder soprano ansamble can increase the interest of student in music learning on 5th grade in SDN 04 Pulogebang Pagi. Implication from this research, stated that music ansamble can change performance teacher into more creative and professional, and usefull for student daily life.

The fast development of advance science and technology in the twentieth century has forced the people to change and adjust their ways of thinking and acting. Any society or nation does not adjust themselves to the changes around them will be left behind and isolated. As the effect of the radical changes, the social and commercial organizations are demanded to change to be able to survive and develop. The problem is how to manage and lead the organizations properly applying the new paradigm of the twentieth century. This article critically discusses the paradigm shift in the twentieth century resulted by the fast development of science and technology and in the other side it brought some problems such as borderless nations or globalization. The deductive and inductive analysis of the problems in this article concludes that educational organizations in particular should be proactive and absorb the positive changes occurring in their environment and in the world. Management and leadership within the educational institution should be based on the learning organization principles to survive, develop, and complete.

Nowdays, there has been more and moer students of senior high school (SHS) and vocational school (VS) who cannot manage their time well and often do negative activities that tend to be crime. This is caused by the lack of the students awareness to organize and manage their spare time for positive activities. The objective of the research is to find out the information about the studentsâ€™ activities to use their spare time outside the school hours. This research used mixed method,with evaluation and case study. Sample consisted of 178 teachers, 4103 students, 3747 studentsâ€™ parents in the eight provinces in 2011. Tool of research are questionnair, documentation guide, focus group discussion (FGD) guide, and interview guide. Research finding is that the students tend to choose activities they are interested in or the activities they motivate in, students are not independent both in their thought and action based on their potential, and the collaboration between parents and school is very low.

PELAKSANAAN E-LEARNING UNTUK MATA KULIAH DASAR KEPENDIDIKAN Rugaiyah, Rugaiyah

This study aims to obtain information on the implementation of e-learning in Education Basic Courses (MKDK) at State University of Jakarta. The study was conducted at the Faculty of Education from May through November 2012. The population of the study covered lecturers and students of MKDK and the samples were selected by proportional purposive sampling technique. The data were collected using questionnaire and supported by interview guide. The results show that majority of the lecturers implement e-learning by using laptops and LCD, majority of the faculty do not use CD and OHP as teaching aids, hotspot network availability and the access very poor in almost all buildings, e-learning greatly assists students to understand the course material, almost all of the students have laptops and modems to support the lecture, most of the students use mobile phones to access the course material, and e-learning can facilitate students to access material unhindered by time and place, more efficiently, easily, quickly and effectively. The students need e-learning using blog / skype / youtube supported by professional lecturers, learning should be easily accessible and not boring.

Academic services is essential to improve the quality of higher education. The quality of the services can be determined from the studentsâ€™ point of view. This research was conducted in the Department of Special Education, Faculty of Education, Sate University of Jakarta, from August to November 2012. The purposes of the study are to determine and describe student satisfaction on the academic services. The study included three aspects of services, i.e: (1) services related to teaching and supervising the students, (2) services related to academic administration, and (3) services related to supporting facilities The samples were 70 students chosen by random sampling from the population of second and third year students in the department. The results of the study show that studentsâ€™ satisfaction on the services related to teaching and supervising is ranged from satisfied to very satisfied. Studentsâ€™ satisfaction on the services of academic administration is also ranged from satisfied to very satisfied. Studentsâ€™ satisfaction on supporting facilities isranged from quite satisfied to satisfied. Among the three aspects of service, supporting facilities has the lowest score. The study then generally implies that the Department of Education for Special Need, needs to improve some aspects of services especially suporting facilities.

The purpose of this study is to identify the problems faced by the supervisors in supervising the students to write their thesises. The study conducted in the State University of Jakarta in August 2012 with the population of all thesis supervisors. The samples were appointed incidental sampling technique and the data were collected by using questionnaire to be analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The findings show, (1) the supervisors mostly find problems in assisting the students in writing Chapter I and developing research instrument, (2) computer application can be utilized to assist the students to develop the research instruments but the program is to be designed. This study provides some suggestions to the students, thesis supervisors, and the Department to overcome the identified problems.

This research aims to explore the studentsâ€™ interestat the School of Education, State University of Jakarta. The interest model was based on Holland interest theoritical framework. Descriptive analysis was used to analyze the data from eight dapartments at school of education. The respondents involved 200 students from 2008 to 2011 recruitment. The data were collected through purposive nonrandom sampling technique. The results show that majority of respondents have entepreuners interest, then social, and realistic interest the fewest. The result shows that majority interest of FIP students matches with their academic background.
