Abstract

This research aims to empirically examine the relationship between perception of corporate image and consumer loyalty. The hypothesis accompanying this research was a positive relationship between perception of corporate image and customer loyalty. Samples in this research were 77 consumers of Central Laundry Semarang. This research used incidental sampling technique and two scales, i.e. consumer loyalty scale and perception of corporate image scale. Data analysis was performed using product moment correlation technique. Results showed that there was a significant positive relationship between perceptions of corporate image to the consumer loyalty as indicated by the value of rxy = 0.371 (p <0.01). Therefore the hypothesis of this study was accepted.Keywords: consumer loyalty, perception, corporate image

Abstract

This study eximined the relationship between subjective well being and organizational citizenship behavior in customer service officer of Plasa Telkom Regional Division IV. Participant in this study were 31 customer service officer from 100 customer service officer in regional division IV. This study used two psychological scale: organizational citizenship behavior scale and subjective well being scale. Organizational citizenship behavior consist of 42 item (α = 0, 912). Subjective well being consist of two subscale, cognitive scale consist of 5 item (α = 0,841) dan afective subscale consist of 19 item (α = 0,905). The result was analyzed using product moment with rxy = 0,506 and p = 0,004 (p < 0,05). Effective contribution of subjective well being for organizational citizenship behavioris 25,6%.Keywords : subjective well-being, organizational citizenship behavior, customer service officer.

Abstract

Anger management has become research area with an increasing interest in the last three decades, particularly which was associated with violence paradigm performed by and toward police officer. The objectives of this study were: 1) to describe the anger management of Dalmas officer, especially in task accomplishment and 2) to explain the dynamic among the anger management components. This study applied grounded theory method of qualitative approach. The data were collected by conducting interviews with 5 Dalmas officers of East Java Police Region. The criteria for participant selection are: 19-25 years of age, attained high score criterion in Novaco’s Anger Scale, had accomplished all kind of Dalmas assignments, with at least one-year experience as Dalmas officers. Data analysis was performed thematically to the verbatim transcribed interviews. The data and theory triangulation had been applied to increase research result credibility. Based on the thematic analysis, found that Dalmas officer’s anger management was composed by various components outlined into four aspects of anger management wich wee interacted each other: the meaning of anger, anger experience recognition, response choosing, and evaluation. The finding revealed several phenomena as the unique characteristics of participants’ anger management, which were: appraisal adjustment, anger coping strategy conditioning, and identification of role and identity in anger management.Keywords: anger management, Dalmas officer

Abstract

Trust in the online shop on facebook was expected to affect the interest of consumers in buying. Products offered on online fashion shop cannot be touched and and thus require a high enough trust to buy via online shop. This study aims to examine the relationship between the perception of price and quality of products with interest in buying products through online fashion shop on facebook at a polytechnic university in Semarang. The research samples were 60 students which were analysed by using multiple regression analysis. The result of first hypothesis showed that the perception of price was related positively and significantly to interest in buying products through online fashion shop on facebook as shown in rxy= 0,934, sig= 0,000 (α=0,05). The second hypothesis test showed that quality of products was not significant with interest in buying products through online fashion shop on facebook with rxy= 0,063 sig= 0,480 (α=0,05). Third hypothesis test also showed that the perception of price and quality of products simultaneously had positive and significat impact on the interest in buying products through online fashion shop on facebook rxy = 0,708, sig= 0,000 (α=0,05). Abstract

The use of a mediator variable which mediates the effect of treatment with the output variable in the context of experimental research is highly recommended. By involving the mediator variable, the mechanism of treatment effect given to the output variable can be explained in more detail. This study aimed to disseminate the use of a mediator variable in experimental research which is rare used among researchers in Indonesia. Two mediation analysis procedures was applied to analyze the effect of Depression Prevention Training to reduced depression symptoms among adolescents. This study employed pretest–posttest experimental design. Participants were divided into two groups and the treatment was given to the treatment groups. The variable defined as mediator was coping skill. Firstly, Baron-Kenny procedure was employed and then followed by causal analysis procedure. The analysis revealed that coping skill was proved as a mediator between the effect of treatment on depression. Abstract

This research aimed to know the impulsive buying tendency of early adult in Yogyakarta. Impulsive buying was a buying activity without cosideration, and accompanied by strong emotional response. High impulsive buying tendency occured between age 18 to 39 years old. This research was a quantitative descriptive research with 395 subjects. Generally, the impulsive buying tendency in this research was low. Based on comparation between man and woman, it was found that woman was more impulsive than man. The result also showed that married person was more impulsive than unmarried person. Based on the types of job, there was several different among those types. But there was no different of impulsive buying tendency based on the education background level.Keywords: impulsive buying, early adult

Abstract

This paper presented an overview about bullying, multidimentional assessment, and social intervention. Bullying is an act of repeated aggressive behavior in order to intentionally hurt another person physically or mentally. Bullying is characterized by an individual behaving in a certain way to gain power over another person. Behaviors may include name calling, verbal or written abuse, exclusion from activities, exclusion from social situations, physical abuse, or coercion. Bullying in schools sometimes consists of a group of students taking advantage of, or isolating one student in particular and gaining the loyalty of bystanders who want to avoid becoming the next victim. To comprehensively understand about bullying, professional helpers (psychologist, counsellor, and social worker) need to do a multidimentional assesment. Based on this issue, this paper suggested three intervention programs to prevent and combating the bullying behavior in the schools is Citizens’ Responsibility Program.Keywords: school, bullying, assessment, intervention

Abstract

Performance appraisal is a systematic, formal and evaluative description about employee’s work quality to standardize an individual or team work behavior. It is an important system and process to personnel and human resource management. When communicated inappropriately, it can impede the organization success and employees’ chance in planning their career with the company where they work. This research aimed to evaluate and develop existed performance appraisal system and described the process of development appraisal system of retail and marketplace. Interviews, observations, and company’s documents were conducted to gather empirical information regarding the needs of developing new appraisal system. Grote’s performance management strategy was used to analyze the evaluation and development which produced a new performance appraisal system and enabled to mapping employee’s ability for their promotion’s opinion.Keywords: evaluation and development, performance appraisal system, retail and marketplace

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) explore forms of loneliness experienced by the elderly, 2) identify factors that triggered the loneliness in the elderly, 3) explore the coping strategies used by the elderly in overcoming loneliness. Study sites were in East Purwokerto, and South Purwokerto. There were eight primary informants for this research. Four participants were in East Purwokerto and the other four were in South Purwokerto. In addition, there were secondary informants consisted of children and neighbors of the primary informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation. Data were processed by an interactive analysis model. This study found that all the elderly experienced loneliness mixture. Six participants experienced emotional anxiety and situational anxiety and two participants experienced emotional anxiety and social anxiety. Factors related to the emergence of loneliness in 8 participants were: 1) loss of a figure who could provide them with attention, 2) loss of social integration which was related both to the absence of friends whom they could communicate with and to their reluctance to communicate, 3) the feeling of being left by the people whom they loved. All participants developed emotional coping to overcome the loneliness in different methods, namely three participants used self-control method and five participants used self-control and positive reappraisal.Key words: lonely, elderly, coping strategies

Abstract

Peran serta karyawan sangat penting bagi efektivitas organisasi.Dalam hal ini, karyawan yang dimaksud adalah karyawan yang tidak hanya handal, tetapi juga memiliki loyalitas dan komitmen, serta bersedia untuk memberikan kinerja lebih bagi organisasi, atau biasa disebut dengan Perilaku Kewarganegaraan Organisasi (PKO−Organizational Citizenship Behavior).Untuk itu, perlu mengetahui mengenai variabel yang dapat meningkatkan perilaku kewarganegaraan organisasi, karena dengan karyawan memiliki PKO yang tinggi maka hal ini akandapat membantu organisasi dalam beradaptasi dengan lingkungan (Organ, 2006). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui hubungan dan pengaruh persepsi terhadap dukungan organisasi dan kepuasan kerja terhadap PKO. Penelitian ini dilakukan pada karyawan yang bekerja di lembaga keuangan (N=203), dengan menggunakan 3 jenis skala pengumpulan data yaitu Persepsi Dukungan Organisai (POS), Kepuasan Kerja, dan Perilaku Kewarganegaraan Organisasi (PKO). Analisis dilakukan dengan menggunakan Korelasi Berganda.Dari penelitian diperoleh hasil yangmenunjukkan adanya pengaruh yang positif dan signifikan dari kepuasan kerja terhadap PKO (r=0,19; p<0,01), dan tidak terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan antara persepsi terhadap Dukungan Organisasi pada PKO (r=0,05; p>0,05). Berdasarkan hasil tersebut, tampak bahwa kepuasan kerja merupakan prediktor dan memiliki peran yang lebih penting terhadap PKOdibandingkan dengan persepsi terhadap dukungan organisasi.Keywords: Kepuasan Kerja, Perilaku Kewarganegaraan Organisasi, dan Persepsi terhadap Dukungan Organisasi.
