Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian bagi masyarakat ini dilakukan dengan memberikan pelatihan tentang super parenting untuk meningkatkan kompetensi sosial anak kepada anggota Dharma Wanita SMA N Jatilawang. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk: 1) memberikan pengetahuan teoritis tentang kompetensi sosial pada anak, 2) memberikan pengetahuan teoritis tentang super parenting dan memahami ”penyakit-penyakit” yang sering dilakukan seorang ibu dalam pengasuhan anak, 3) memberikan pelatihan tentang super parenting, yaitu pengasuhan yang dilakukan dengan tidak menerapkan ”penyakit” AsMa (asal marah). Kegiatan diikuti oleh anggota Dharma Wanita SMA N Jatilawang baik anggota aktif maupun pasif. Metode yang digunakan adalah: 1) Ceramah, 2) pengisian worksheet, 3) diskusi, 4) peragaan, 5) pelatihan. Kegiatan pendidikan dan pelatihan ini berjalan dengan lancar dan berhasil. Pelatihan ini menghasilkan soft skill para anggota dharma wanita SMA Negeri Jatilawang berupa kesadaran untuk mengasuh anaknya secara super, yaitu dengan menghilangkan kemarahan yang asal (asma: asal marah). Kesimpulan dari kegiatan ini adalah: 1) semua peserta, dalam menerapkan pengasuhan kepada anak (parenting), disertai dengan kesalahan/penyakit yaitu asma (asal marah), 2) peserta kegiatan yaitu anggota dharma wanita merasakan sekali manfaat pelatihan ini, 3) kegiatan ini membuka wawasan peserta yaitu anggota PKK SMA Negeri Jatilawang bahwa marah yang disertakan dalam parenting merupakan perilaku yang sia-sia, yang pada akhirnya sulit untuk meningkatkan kompetensi sosial anak, 4) secara teoritis peserta kegiatan belum memahami akan kompetensi sosial dan super parenting, 5) semua peserta sudah menerapkan parenting tapi belum menerapkan super parenting, yaitu pengasuhan anak yang tidak menyertakan kesalahan/penyakit asma (asal Marah), peserta kegiatan membutuhkan kegiatan semacam untuk meningkatkan kompetensi sosial anak lebih lanjut.Kata kunci : super parenting, kompetensi sosial pada anak

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: mendeskripsikan bentuk kekerasan seksual yang sering terjadi pada anak, dan mengkaji bagaimana aplikasi pola asuh otoritatif ibu dalam mereduksi kekerasan seksual pada anak. Informan penelitian hanya informan primer yaitu 2 orang ibu berusia 42 tahun dan 40 tahun bertempat tinggal di Mersi kecamatan Purwokerto Timur. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara mendalam dan observasi. Data diolah dengan model analisis interaktif.  Temuan dari penelitian ini adalah: bentuk kekerasan yang dicemaskan terjadi meliputi pelanggaran seksual yang melibatkan sentuhan fisik, seperti: anak dicumbu, anak disuruh untuk menyentuh organ seksual orang dewasa, anak dipermainkan vagina atau anusnya baik dengan tangan maupun alat kelamin laki-laki walaupun hanya sedikit. Pola asuh otoritatif diaplikasikan dengan cara menerapkan aspek-aspeknya: kontrol terhadap anak dilakukan dengan relatif longgar yaitu tidak penuh paksaan baik fisik dan psikis, komunikasi terjadi dua arah antara anak-Ibu,  Ibu mengajak anak untuk “mendiskusikan” tentang bahaya dari kekerasan seks, ibu menginformasikan tentang nilai benar salah kaitannya dengan seksualitas manusia dan apabila harus menghukum, hukuman diberikan sesuai dengan tingkat kesalahan anak, Ibu dengan persetujuan anak membuat komitmen untuk menjaga diri sendiri (alat kelamin dan hidupnya) untuk tidak mudah bersinggungan dengan orang asing.Kata kunci : pola asuh otoritatif ibu, kekerasan seksual.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk : a) Memberikan pengetahuan teoritis tentang Anak Autis b) Memberikan pengetahuan teoritis tentang cara mendidik Anak Autis, c) Memberikan pelatihan cara mengidentifikasi perilaku aspek sosial Anak Autis, d)Memberikan pelatihan Terapi Bermain Kelompok sebagai upaya meningkatkan kemampuan sosial anak autis.Target khusus dari kegiatan ini adalah berupa: a) peningkatan kemampuan teoritis tentang pengetahuan teoritis tentang Anak Autis, b) peningkatan kemampuan teoritis tentang cara mendidik Anak Autis, c) kompetensi dalam melakukan terapi bermain kelompok sebagai upaya meningkatkan aspek sosial anak autis. Kegiatan pendidikan dan pelatihan ini dilakukan dengan metode ceramah untuk mengedukasi tentang anak autis secara teoritis dan terapi bermain kelompok. Kegiatan dievaluasi untuk memotret pemahaman teoritis dari hasil edukasi dan pemilikian kemampuan khusus dalam menangani anak autis dengan terapi bermain kelompok.Kata Kunci : Autis, Terapi Bermain Kelompok

Abstract

The purposes of this study were: 1) assess the orientation of happiness in mothers of children with mild mental retardation, 2) assess the orientation of happiness in the fathers who have children with mild mental retardation. This study is a qualitative study using phenomenological approach. The primary informants are mothers and fathers who have mild mentally disabled children who attend school in SLB C Yakut Purwokerto, while the secondary informants were neighbors. Methods of data collection in this study is the interview. Analysis of the data used interactive model analysis. The results showed: There are differences in the pattern of happiness orientation between the mother and father who have children with mild mental retardation. Orientation mother more happiness are dominated on social engagement, meaning that mother happier if it can be involved in social activities. While the pursuit of happiness if dad can do something fun that is the way the economic needs of the family.

Abstract

This study aimed to: 1) explore forms of loneliness experienced by the elderly, 2) identify factors that triggered the loneliness in the elderly, 3) explore the coping strategies used by the elderly in overcoming loneliness. Study sites were in East Purwokerto, and South Purwokerto. There were eight primary informants for this research. Four participants were in East Purwokerto and the other four were in South Purwokerto. In addition, there were secondary informants consisted of children and neighbors of the primary informants. Data were collected through in-depth interviews and observation. Data were processed by an interactive analysis model. This study found that all the elderly experienced loneliness mixture. Six participants experienced emotional anxiety and situational anxiety and two participants experienced emotional anxiety and social anxiety. Factors related to the emergence of loneliness in 8 participants were: 1) loss of a figure who could provide them with attention, 2) loss of social integration which was related both to the absence of friends whom they could communicate with and to their reluctance to communicate, 3) the feeling of being left by the people whom they loved. All participants developed emotional coping to overcome the loneliness in different methods, namely three participants used self-control method and five participants used self-control and positive reappraisal.Key words: lonely, elderly, coping strategies

Abstract

Mitra pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu SD Muhammadiyah 1 dan SD Muhammadiyah 2, Kec. Cimanggu, Kab. Cilacap dengan jumlah total 12 guru sebagai kelompok sasaran. Permasalahan itu adalah: 1) kurangnya pengetahuan guru tentang gaya belajar, 2) Kurangnya pengetahuan guru dalam mengidentifikasi gaya belajar siswa, 3) kurangnya keterampilan guru dalam merancang stimulasi belajar sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa. Tujuannya kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini yaitu 1) memberikan pengetahuan pentingnya gaya belajar siswa, 2) memberikan pengetahuan identifikasi gaya belajar siswa, dan 3) melatih keterampilan merancang stimulasi belajar sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa. Tahapan-tahapan pelaksanaan yang digunakan dalam kegiatan ini diantaranya ceramah, tanya jawab, dan pelatihan merancang stimulasi belajar sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa. Hasilnya, terjadi peningkatan pengetahuan gaya belajar siswa dan identifikasi gaya belajar siswa. Hal ini dibuktikan dari nilai pre test dan post test yang diberikan pada saat sebelum dan sesudah pelatihan serta hasil dari wawancara. selain itu peningkatan keterampilan merancang stimulasi belajar sesuai dengan gaya belajar siswa.

Abstract

This study explores self-disclosure among adolescents engaged in interfaith friendships. Utilizing a qualitative case study approach, data were collected through interviews with four purposively sampled adolescent females. Analytical techniques included pattern matching, expansion generation, and time series analysis, with source triangulation employed to ensure credibility. The study identified five main themes of self-disclosure in these interfaith friendships: honesty, accuracy, amount, frequency and duration, depth, intent, and the positive-negative nature. Additional themes included the process of self-disclosure, the duration of the friendship, trust, tolerance, and joint activities. The findings suggest that self-disclosure in interfaith adolescent friendships involves sharing and learning about each other's religions, which fosters greater appreciation and tolerance of religious diversity. Future research should examine the long-term effects of self-disclosure in interfaith friendships on adolescents' social and psychological well-being.

Abstract

This study investigates the relationship between self-efficacy and self-adjustment among seventh-grade students at SMP N 3 Lakbok in West Java, Indonesia. Employing a quantitative correlational research design, the study involved 175 students as respondents. Data were collected using self-efficacy and self-adjustment scales, with reliability assessed via Cronbach’s Alpha. The validity of the scales was confirmed using the Product Moment correlation technique. The self-efficacy scale included 29 valid items and 11 invalid items, with a reliability coefficient of 0.815. The self-adjustment scale comprised 21 valid items and 19 invalid items, with a reliability coefficient of 0.769. Statistical analysis revealed a significant correlation between self-efficacy and self-adjustment (p = 0.000, p < 0.05), indicating that higher self-efficacy is associated with better self-adjustment among students. Specifically, self-efficacy accounts for 26.5% of the variance in self-adjustment, suggesting that additional 73.5% of factors influencing self-adjustment warrant further investigation. Future research should explore other factors contributing to self-adjustment beyond self-efficacy, such as social support, academic environment, and personal experiences, to develop a more comprehensive understanding of the dynamics affecting student self-adjustment.

Abstract

Hardiness, a key personality trait, can play a crucial role in helping individuals manage stress effectively. This study aimed to explore the concept of hardiness among divorced and widowed single mothers. Employing a phenomenological approach with qualitative methodology, the research utilized semi-structured interviews to gather data, which was then analyzed through Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (IPA). To ensure the credibility of the findings, triangulation, peer debriefing, and member checks were implemented. The study revealed that the four participants—single mothers who were either divorced or widowed—demonstrated strong hardiness. This trait enabled them to overcome significant challenges, view their children as a source of motivation and purpose, and transform past experiences into personal growth. The findings underscore the importance of hardiness in managing the stresses associated with single motherhood. It is recommended that interventions and support programs be developed to enhance hardiness among single mothers. Such programs could include targeted counseling, resilience training, and peer support groups designed to build coping skills and emotional resilience.

Abstract

This study aimed to describe the mental health of the elderly before and after the COVID-19 outbreak using a qualitative approach. Ten elderly people volunteered to participate in offline semi-structured interviews. The data was analyzed using the interpretative phenomenological analysis (IPA) technique. The results of our study mentioned the differences in the mental health of the elderly during the COVID-19 outbreak and after the COVID-19 outbreak. The elderly felt the difference in emotional terms, such as being more relieved and happier because activities returned to normal. The elderly feel calmer when using religion as religious coping to overcome psychological problems that arise during the COVID-19 outbreak. During the COVID-19 outbreak, elderly people still working also feel the impact on the family's economy, which compounds the problem. Excessive coverage on social media also helped make the elderly more afraid of COVID-19. The study's results can help improve older people's mental health after COVID-19 by understanding their experiences and finding good ways to cope. It suggests that future research should look at specific ways to support older people's mental health, taking into account their special challenges and the role of social media in causing fear and worry about COVID-19.
