Abstract

This study aims to analyze the relationship between parental role and digital literacy skills and the reading interest of elementary school students in Lubuk Linggau City, both partially and simultaneously. The method used in this study was a quantitative approach with a correlational design and a questionnaire as the research instrument. The results showed that parental role had a value (t-count = 5.018), while hypothesis testing showed that digital literacy skills had a value (t-count = 5.047). The results for the multiple effects obtained a value of F-count > F-table (64.517 > 3.04). The conclusion of this study indicates that parental role and digital literacy skills simultaneously positively affect the reading interest of elementary school students in Lubuk Linggau City.   Keywords: Digital Literacy Skills, Reading Interest, Parental Role

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the application of an ecoprint-based art learning approach to improving creative thinking skills in early childhood. The method used in this study was Classroom Action Research (CAR), based on the Kemmis and McTaggart model, which consists of three cycles: pre-cycle, Cycle I, and Cycle II. The results showed a significant increase in children's creativity indicators, namely fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The classical average for the indicators in the pre-cycle activities was only 20.46%. In cycle I, it increased to 47.73%, and in cycle II, it increased again to 86.36%. The conclusion is that an ecoprint-based art learning approach can enhance creative thinking in early childhood.   Keywords: Early Childhood, Creative Thinking, Ecoprint, Art Learning

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of using a video tutorial on creating snack bouquets on the vocational skills of 10th-grade deaf students at Jember State Special Needs School. The method used by the researchers in this study was a quantitative experiment, a pre-experimental study with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study population consisted of four students. Data were processed using nonparametric statistical methods, using the sign-and-sign test. Based on the results, it can be concluded that the video tutorial on making snack bouquets has a positive effect on improving the vocational skills of 10th-grade deaf students at Jember State Special Needs School. This media offers a visual approach tailored to students' needs, facilitating an understanding of instructions without relying on verbal communication, and encourages students to learn independently. This research demonstrates the importance of implementing adaptive learning media, particularly in supporting inclusive education for students with special needs.   Keywords: Video Tutorial Media, Vocational Skills, Students with Deafness

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Tracing the Dots technique on the vowel writing ability of second-grade students with moderate intellectual disabilities at the BCD YPAC Jember Special Needs School. The method used was a quantitative one-group pretest-posttest design. The results showed that the calculated Z value (4.91) was greater than Zα (1.645); thus, H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This means that the application of the Tracing the Dots technique has a significant influence on the vowel writing ability of second-grade students with moderate intellectual disabilities at the BCD YPAC Jember Special Needs School. The conclusion is that the Tracing the Dots technique is efficacious in improving vowel writing ability in children with moderate intellectual disabilities. Therefore, this technique can be used as an alternative writing learning strategy for teachers in special needs schools.   Keywords: Intellectual Disability, Vowel Writing, Tracing the Dots Technique
