Abstract

As all religions have their mysticism, Islamic mysticism is well known as Sufism. In its development, many schools ofSufism appeared and they had been influenced by several religions and beliefs around such as Christian, Buddhism,Hinduism, Gnotisism, etc. This article tends to tell about Islamic Mysticism and its epistemology. It will be discussedabout the definition of Sufism, its schools, its objects, and ways to get it. The writing classified kinds of IslamicMysticism too into three types, Tasawuf Akhlaki, Tasawuf Amali, and Tasawuf Falsafi. Each type has thecertain character. In the end, it will be explained how to know the validity of Sufism.

Abstract

This paper compared the tought of al-Asma al-Husna by H. Husin Qader and H.M. Zurkani Jahja. Thereare differences in the tought of the two figures in the delivery of the words of al-Asma al-Husna written in theirwork. H. Husin Qaderi in his book Senjata Mukmin (the Faithfuls weapon) and H.M. Zurkani Jahja inhis book 99 jalan menuju Tuhan (99 ways of finding the God). The findings of this study is H. HusinQaderi thought about al-Asma al-Husna that shows Gods action is the dominant to the practical prayer withzikir, it is appropriate approach to Sufism that he had as well as the community needs are preaching at thattime. H. M. Zurkani Jahja told about al-Asma al-Husna that shows Gods action is the dominant to themoral and spiritual implications, the Sufism approach that he used in accordance with al-Ghazali in his al-Maqsd. Zurkani used simple and easy explanation, it is because he wrote al-Asma al-Husna in a tabloidthen booked, his expectation was the people to behave like the personality of God limited his ability. There aredifferences of tought about al-Asma al-Husna showing the actions of God according to both of them, theirdifference lies in the Gods blessings on His servants. Qaderi more closed, while Zurkani seems more open toGods faithful servant and vice versa to get Gods blessings.

Abstract

Dalam tulisan ini dipahami kasyf adalah terbukannya tirai kegaiban. Dalam dunia tasawuf, kasyf merupakan terbukanya tirai ketuhanan (kasyfrubûbiyyah), sehingga orang yang dianugerahi ilmu ini dapat melihat dan berdialog dengan Tuhan lewat hati sanubarinya. Sedang kasyf ghaybiyyab adalah kasyf yang terendah, yaitu tersingkapnya perkara-perkara gaib. Kasyf merupakan buah ketakwaan yang sebagiannya diberikan Tuhan di dunia kepada orang yang telah mensucikan dan selalu mendekatkan diri kepada-Nya. Bagi orang yang menemukan kasyf bukan hasil dari ketakwaan disebut kasyf syaythaniyyah.

Abstract

Banjarese people carry out the celebration or commemoration of the birthday of Prophet Muhammad Saw. with swinging children or adults, this event commonly referred to baayun mulud. The purpose of this event is based on various motives, both religious, sociological, and some other political-cultural motives. The religious motivation is the belief that it will be granted all the luck, get blessings, health, safety, recover from illness, child is not naughty / fussy and because nadzar which granted Allah Swt. The sociological motivation of this event is to cultivate the spirit of togetherness, mutually cooperation, and unity in the midst of urban society that tends to be individualist today. While the political-cultural motivation can be felt from the statement of the organizing committee who firmly stated that this event was held in order to revive a tradition that has been forgotten, whereas it used to exist in the time of the Sultanate of Banjar. Along with the reaffirmation of the existence of the Sultanate of Banjar, then the existence of culture that ever existed in the heyday of this Sultanate also tried to be raised again.

Abstract

This paper tries to explore about the Israilliyyat and gender bias in interpretating theAlquran. This paper emphasizes that the infiltration the Isra liyyt narrations intafseer books were not necessarily lead to the interpretation of al-Qur an in thosebooks were related to the gender bias. This conclusion denied the Muslim feministinterpretation that in the classic books there are some gender-biased interpretation whichare caused by infiltration of Israliyyt narrations. Special studies of Isra liyyt andconcept of women ceation in al-Tabari interpretation strengthens the conclusions of thispaper and also denied the allegations of Muslim feminists popularized.

Abstract

This paper would like to present in a comparative analysis the interpretation made by M. Quraish Shihab about QS. al-Qalam. Comparison of interpretations in this paper will elevate the written and oral interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab at once, in this case the interpretation of writing will refer to the Tafseer of Al-Misbah, and the interpretation of the Oral will refer to the "Kajian Tafseer of Al-Misbah". What is interesting in the interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab is that even though it is done by the same person, there is a difference between the interpretation of the text and the oral interpretation of M. Quraish Shihab. The process of comparison of interpretations will be analyzed using the theory of orality, especially additive traits instead of subordinates. The question to be answered in this paper is how are the differences and similarities between M. Quraish Shihab's written and oral interpretations of surah al-Qalam? Abstract

Kekerasan terhadap perempuan terjadi di segala bidang kehidupan. Kekerasanmerupakan produk dari budaya patriarki tidak saja menyentuh wilayah sosial,melainkan juga merambah ke wilayah agama. Agama dianggap menjadi pembenardan pelanggeng praktek kekerasan terhadap perempuan. Melalui analisis gender,persoalan kekerasan terhadap perempuan menemukan akarnya, yaitu pandanganbias gender dalam semua dimensi kehidupan, termasuk dalam agama. Adapun taoismeIslam melihat sifat maskulin negatif sebagai akar tindakan kekerasan. Relasi setaradalam hubungan kesalingan menjadi tawaran penting yang diajukan analisis genderdan taoisme Islam.

Abstract

This paper seeks to explore the history of the study of codification of manuscripts which still remains problematic. Even some Muslim thinkers doubt the authenticity of the manuscripts circulating now, or commonly referred to as Mushaf ‘Uṡmāni. In Islamic history, the Qur'an at the time of the Prophet Muhammad was not codified as it is now. At that time, the diversity of reading methods (qirā'ah) was so rich that many friends had their own manuscripts. But in the time of ‘Uṡmān, the Mushaf only had one version because the other Manuscripts were  “destroyed". Even many Mushaf were burned at that time, so some friends (campanions/ṣaḥābah) did not accept this. This will not happen without anyone behind it, and certainly has to do with the caliph's political authority at that time as the holder of power. Then why did the time of khulafā 'al-rāsyidīn united the mushaf? What is the reason for the caliph of the early days of Islam to united the Mushaf and burned the other manuscripts? With a historical approach and analytical-critical method, this paper seeks to examine in depth the background or motives for the union of Mushaf and the burning of other best manuscripts. In addition, this paper will also briefly described some of the best-known Mushaf in the history of the Qur'an. They are ‘Alī bin Abū Ṭālib (d. 40 H), Ibn Mas'ūd (d. 32 H), and Ubay bin Ka'ab (d. 21/22 H).

Abstract

The globalization brings many impacts in the world. In Indonesia, some people consider it as a threat for the localwisdom and national culture. In this era, the flow of information cannot be repressed, so all people can access it easily.Somehow it will be positive, but the reality said that the negative impacts is bigger for the community especially for theyoung generation. To prevent the things happen, it is needed for them to have strong character in their personality. Thiswriting discussed about the concept of building the childrens character since early. So far, the article is going to comparethe thought of Albert Bandura and Muhammad Mutawwali al-Syarawi in building character. In the end, it will beconcluded the differences and the similarities between both concepts.

Abstract

Sheikh Muhammad Samman who love science and adrift heart of the religious sciences, devoted himself to God directly in the path of Sufism. Because of his persistence in the world of mysticism, it leds Sheikh Muhammad Samman to various teachers and sheikhs, until he also founded a new tarikat which is a combination of various tarikat that he followed previously. The emergence of a new tarikat that is based on some tarikat is not new and can be accepted. Surely, he formed a new tarikat called Sammaniyah that have many followers until now. Of his teachings in the tarikat, there are some rules that discussed about relationship between the Murshid or sheikh with a pupil. The concept about it is similar to the relationship between the Prophet with his companions or with some of his followers. From Sirah Nabawiyah, it can be concluded how the Companions of the Messenger had spoken and vice versa as well as he, the Prophet., treats his companions. Actually, this condition applies to every tarikat anywhere.
