Abstract

The main challenge for the development of unmanned aircraft today is the cruising range of unmanned aircraft. One of the causes of limited cruising range is the weakness of the communication system between aircraft and ground station. In this study designed a system of data downlink integrated with adaptive control so that it can increase cruising range from unmanned aircraft. The method used in this research is the experimental method to get the design and pilot plan downlink data system combined with adaptive control to create intelligent data downlink device that can increase cruising range unmanned aircraft. From this research found that Kalman Filter is the best algorithm used in designing an adaptive downlink system.

Abstract

Lumpy demand represents the circumstances when a demand for an item has a large proportion of periods having zero demand. This certain situation makes the time series methods might become inappropriate due to the model’s inability to capture the demand pattern. This research aims to compare several forecasting methods for lumpy demand that is represented by the demand of spare part. Three forecasting methods are chosen; Linear Exponential Smoothing (LES), Artificial Neural Network (ANN), and Bootstrap. The Mean Absolute Scaled Error (MASE) is used to measure the forecast performance. In order to gain more understanding on the effect of the forecasting method on spare parts inventory management, inventory simulation using oil and gas company’s data is then conducted. Two inventory parameters; average inventory and service level; are used to measure the performance. The result shows that ANN is found to be the best method for spare part forecasting with MASE of 0,761. From the inventory simulation, the appropriate forecasting method on spare parts inventory management is able to reduce average inventory by 11,9% and increase service level by 10,7%. This result justifies that selecting the appropriate forecasting method is one of the ways to achieve spare part inventory management’s goal.

Abstract

Penelitian ini mengusulkan model matematika dari Vehicle Routing Problem with Compartment (VRPC) dengan karakteristik split delivery, multi product, dan time windows. VRPC adalah varian VRP yang merupakan pengembangan dari Capacitated Vehicle Routing Problem (CVRP) dengan kendaraan yang digunakan memiliki kompartemen untuk misahkan beberapa jenis produk yang akan didistribusikan. Penerapan konsep VRPC dalam sistem nyata, dapat ditemukan pada sistem pendistribusian bahan bakar, minyak, limbah daur ulang, maupun pendistribusian makanan. Model matematika yang dibangun bertujuan untuk menentukan rute optimal dengan meminimasi jarak. Perangkat lunak AMPL dengan CLPEX solver digunakan untuk menyelesaikan model matematika yang dibangun. Model matematika yang dikembangkan berbentuk Mixed Integer Nonlinear Programming (MINLP). Eksperimen numeris digunakan untuk mengilustrasikan pengggunaan model yang dibangun. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa model yang dibangun lulus uji verifikasi dan validasi.

Abstract

Finch (Lonchura) pest bird becomes a serious problem for rice-plant farmers when entering harvest period because it could make crop yields decreases or even crop failure. There are many method have been done for pest bird control but almost all of those are not effectives. Bird-like unmanned aerial vehicle is proposed as an alternative solution to control pest bird. The aim of this research is to do conceptual design of unmanned aerial vehicle which look like predator bird for pest bird control in farm area. The predator bird which means is black eagle (Ictinaetus Malaiensis) which is one of natural predators of small birds including finch family. Conceptual design of bird-like unmanned aerial vehicle follows general design process of aircraft with some simplification. Method of design adopt to Raymer’s method and sketching of black eagle planform especially wings and tail. The design results an unmanned aerial vehicle look like black eagle with cruise speed  is 10m/s and operational altitude 120m above sea level. From aerodynamics analysis shows that bird-like unmanned aerial vehicle which have designed fill lift requirement at angle of attack  3o and longitudinal static stability criteria.

Abstract

Gong Waning is a traditional musical instrument o f Sikka community o f East Nusa Tenggara which is played by beating. In its development, not many young people who can play this instrument. Therefore it is very necessary to design and create an animated model o f the introduction of traditional Gong Waning musical instruments using 3Ds.Max and on sound using unity software. The output o f visualization o f traditional musical instrument Gong Waning in the form o f animation and sound display so hopefully can be more easily in studying and using musical instrument Gong Waning.

Abstract

Learning through the use of animation E-Learning can be a learning tool to teach using electronic applications, media, Internet, Intranet or other computer network media. In addition to computers and Internet networks, which play a role in e-learning is the brainware that is creating content (text, images, video, animation) and user/users of e-learning (teachers and students). It should be noted in making animated e-learning is the content that should be included in accordance with the curriculum that is used by the school to be used for teaching and learning in schools. Making animated blueprint of learning by using characters then do modeling and animation. The subjects used in this study animation is Mathematics and Physics. Software used in the manufacture of learning applications that 3ds Max 2010, Adobe Premiere Pro CC, Adobe After Effects. The analysis tested the effectiveness of learning communication using questionnaire and calculation using a Likert scale that shows the percentage of 69.83%, the analysis proves that by using an animated e-learning teaching and learning activities in the classroom more effectively.

Abstract

Three-dimensional applications has evolved penetrated in almost all areas of work, especially in the field of multimedia and other virtual media. Offeature films, television, print design to production games. LightWave 3D is a software that can model an object once animate. This research model a 3D object using LightWave Modeler then analyzed the results of modeling using graphic editors in LightWave Layout. To connect between LightWave Modeler and LightWave Layout used LightWave Hub. Analysis using the graphic editor can make a better model for the selection of each layer more detail.

Abstract

Visual Docking Guidance System (VDGS), is a device provided by the airport service to assist a pilot parked the plane on the righr place. On Aircraft parking control activities in the airport, the pilot is assisted by a marshaller that aims to be steering the movement of aircraft to the correct parking spot. The more density of the movement of aircraft on the apron activity requires the use of alternative technology to substitute marshaller, this technology is called Visual Docking Guidance Syatem (VDGS). VDGS display design uses three pieces o f board o f dot matrix display that is made into one to form a combination in accordance with the appearance on the VDGS on the market. Display used is a superbright LED dot matrix. The controller is a three pieces of. PIC 16F84A microcontroller and a series o f shift registers to display the movement of the aircraft to the right, to the left, straight and stops and also display the aircraft identity.

Abstract

This research aims to investigate the effects of angle of attack, Reynold numbers and winglet structure on the performance of Cessna 172 Skyhawk aircraft with winglets variation design. Winglets improve efficiency by diffusing the shed wingtip vortex, which reducing the drag due to lift and improving the wing’s lift over drag ratio. In this research, the specimens are the duplicated of Cesnna 172 Skyhawk wing with 1:40 ratio made of balsa wood. There are three different winglet designs that are compared with the one without winglet. The experiments are conducted in an open wind tunnel to measure the lift and drag force with Reynold numbers of 25,000 and 33,000. It can be concluded that the wings with winglets have higher lift coefficient than wing without winglet for both Reynold numbers. It was also found that all wings with winglets have higher lift-to-drag ratio than wings without winglet where the blended 45o cant angle has the highest value.

Abstract

Low pressure filter web (LPFW) is one of the components on KT1-Bee aircraft that has been damaged 18 times during March 2016 to April 2017. The LPFW damage that occurred must be anticipated by planning the inventory of components, so when the same damage happens, it can be replaced immediately. Life limit of LPFW by manufacturer is 375FH. However, from the calculation with the weibull method it showed the Mean Time Between Failure (MTBF) only reaches 347,248FH. MTBF values that are smaller than the life limit component require early inventory planning. Through the Poisson method with a confidence level of 70%, the value of x = 5 is obtained. Then if the value is calculated in the recommendation based on the passion distribution with x-1, it will reach 4. From these results, the recommendation of the number of LPFW spare parts that must be prepared to avoid unserviceable aircraft is 4ea.
