Abstract

Non-dairy creamer is a product made at PT. NDC as a substitute for milk or cream, which is a fat emulsion product. Krimer is packed with a 25kg small bag with an updated coding according to the lot, production time, production date, product name, and packaging date expiration date. Often there is an error in the packaging unit, especially at the coding stage with the wrong non-dairy creamer packaging code that causes packaging defects. The defects in packaging focused on the coding stage, have to be minimized. The research uses the Six Sigma method as a useful tool to increase productivity and product quality. With DMAIC Discussion (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, and Control). Through data processing and analysis using the DMAIC cycle obtained three types of packaging defects, namely cryptic code, double code and wrong code from the three defects obtained percentage value of cryptic code 63%, double code 44% and wrong code 42% and obtained an average value sigma 3.71 with a DPMO value of 13,553

Abstract

One of the process making a creamer is the process of mixing liquid glucose, oil, emulsion powder and water that produces liquid creamer (wet mix / liquid mix). The wet mix results often not match with the standard which can affect the results in the next process. This is the purpose of company to make improvements in controlling wet mix in order to decrease the number of wet mix failure produced. The method used in this research was DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Previous data processing was using Seven Tools, with 3 of 7 tools which are the observation sheet (check sheet), pareto diagram, and fishbone diagram. Through data processing and analysis using DMAIC obtained 3 types of failure of semi-finished products (wet mix) which was wet mix as much as 38.8889%, wet mix gross as much as 36.1111%, and wet mix browning 25,0000% and obtained sigma value at Level 3.87. Define is the stage of defining quality problems, and defined the cause. Measure is the stage of measuring the failure rate of the product. Analyze is the stage of quality improvement by analyzing factors causing product failure. Improve is an action plan to improve quality by eliminating factors causing product failure. Control is the last stage of the Six Sigma project that emphasizes the documentation and dissemination of actions that have been done.

Abstract

One of the alternative energy source that can be developed is the Wind Power Plant. The need for electrical energy that continues to increase, it takes not a little time to build a power plant. System planners must also be able to see the possibilities of the development of the power system in the years to come. Indonesia is a country that has abundant energy resources, one of which is a source of wind energy. Indonesia which is an archipelagic country and one of the countries located on the equator is a factor, that Indonesia has abundant wind energy potential. In this study the output that produced is a renewable energy product, which is a power plant product in the coastal area. In the previous study a low-speed permanent magnet generator has been produced which can be driven by wind turbines which will be continued through the design of vertical type wind turbines. The results of this study can then be developed, especially for electricity generation products in the coastal region. In the process of planning and manufacturing vertical type wind turbines, to produce enough power to meet household electricity needs should be based on several factors that support the effectiveness of the power produced by the turbine, namely: Turbine Dimensions (Length and Blade Width), Material Strength , Shaft, Bearing and Generator Shaft

Abstract

Clean water is very important forlife. Provision of clean water is still a problemin Indonesia. 80% of Indonesia's populationstill consumes water that is not in accordancewith health standards. Whether ergonomicwater filters knock down for clean watersupply is the consumer's interest in waterusers. This ergonomic knock down water filterall parts are easily removed, carried easily, then reassembled where the location requireswater as long as there are waterways to getclean water. The design of this study iscomparative and experimental descriptive.Large sample of 30 people who use waterfilters. Place of Research in the IndustrialEngineering Ergonomics Laboratory, PGRIAdiBuana University Surabaya, Indonesia.Data is taken by observation, questionnaire, and experimental results. Data were analyzedusing descriptive percentages. The resultsshowed that 73.3% water filter material chosestainless steel. Ergonomic knock down waterfilters have the ability to reduce levels of totaldissolved solids (TDS) from 380 ppm to 156ppm, down 224 ppm (41%). Conclusions: 1)water filter users have the highest interest inchoosing filters made of stainless steel, areeasily installed and used ergonomically, andanti-oxidation does not cause corrosion; 2) thewater yield from ergonomic knock down waterfliter is 41% clearer than before filtering.Suggestion: To implement the QualityFunction Deployment of a knock down waterfilter, ergonomics are expected to be guided byanalytical analysis according to theconclusions above.

Abstract

The successful implementation of the six sigma quality improvement program is demonstrated through the improvement of the capability process in producing products leading to zero defect. Therefore, the concept of calculating process capability is very important to understand in the implementation of the Six Sigma program. This research raises the problem of the low level of capability process in producing yarns at PT. Sutra Cotton Textile Industries, Surabaya. By wisely applying six sigma techniques can help reduce things that can affect overall costs. If a company has successfully implemented the concepts in six sigma, then it can be ascertained that the company is truly a reliable company in the world class. Another advantage gained from the implementation of the Six Sigma program is the achievement of targets, namely the increased capability process, of course, in terms of cost. From secondary data in May 2019, in the measure phase it is known that the DPMO value of 16,266 which can be interpreted that of one million production carried out there was a defect of 16,266 with a sigma value of 3.64. From these results it can be said that the production process in Winding has not been able to produce products that fit the desired specifications and is still lagging behind other subprocesses. method. The main priority in carrying out corrective actions based on FMEA is to clean and check the machine at the end of each production cycle. From the results of improvements, the sigma value and DPMO value obtained in September 2019 is 10,977 DPMO which means that of one million production carried out there is a defect of 10,977 with a sigma value of 3.80.
