Abstract

Background: Diabetic foot ulcer is one of the chronic complications of diabetes mellitus caused by neuropathy, angiopathy and decreased endurance. The risk of amputation in patient with diabetes mellitus fifteen times greater compared to non-diabetic. Various efforts on diabetic foot wound care have been carried out but the results are still far from satisfactory. Until now, infrared and counseling effect on wound healing in diabetic foot cannot be explained. Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of infrared ray and counseling on diabetic foot ulcer healing process.Method: The research design was quasi-experimental design with posttest control group design, the population in this study were patients with grade 3 diabetic foot wounds, blood sugar 100-200 g/ dl, BMI 18.5 to 24.9, aged 35-55 years. Large sample in this study as many as 20 were divided into two groups, the control random sampling. The collection of data for the dependent variable using the observation sheet after the tenth day of treatment, which consists of the rate of growth of granulation, ankle brachial index and capillary refill time. Furthermore, the data were processed using non-parametric statistical significance level < 0.05.Result: The results showed that the infrared and counseling effect on the growth of granulation with a significance level (p = 0.0003), infrared and counseling influence ankle brachial index (p = 0.024), infrared and counseling effect on capillary and counseling effect on capillary refill time (p = 0.024).Conclusion: It can be concluded from this study that applying infrared and counseling has any impact on healing in diabetic foot ulcer, on the growth of granulation and improved blood in diabetic foot ulcers. Key words: Infrared Ray, Counseling, Foot Ulcer Healing.

Abstract

Background: Cancer is a disease characterized by abnormal and uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells that can damage the surrounding tissue and can metastasize. Chemotherapy is one of the modalities that is often used by cancer patients. The problem that often arises in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy is fatigue. Walking exercise is a nonpharmacological strategy that can improve fatigue scores. Objective: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of giving walking exercise on fatigue in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at RSUP Dr. M. Djamil Padang.Method: The research design uses quasi-experimental in the form of a pretest-posttest with control group approach. The sampling technique was purposive sampling with a large sample of 15 intervention groups and 15 control groups. Fatique scores were assessed using the Piper Fatique Scale (PFS). Statistical tests using Paired T-Test.Result: The result is a significant effect of walking exercise on fatigue in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy (p value = 0,000; α = 0.05).Conclusion: The results of this study recommend walking exercise as an independent nursing intervention to improve physical scores in cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Key words: Fatique, cancer, chemotherapy, walking exercise.

One disease that continues to increase in prevalence and have a high-risk complication, namely hypertension. This disease has key risk factor namely lifestyle. The role of lifestyle on the incidence of hypertension is very close, especially in the community city. Surabaya has the highest prevalence of hypertension in Indonesia but has a prevalence and the role of lifestyle to the coastal and mountainous regions has not been studied so has not it is known whether hypertension is only concentrated in urban areas or also has an impact for coastal and mountainous regions. Objective: The purpose of this study was to examine relationship between the Healthy Lifestyle Index score to the occurrence of hypertension in mountainous, coastal, and urban communities.Method: This study was a cross sectional observational study. The samples in this study were 30 people in the coastal community, 30 people in the mountain community and 30 people in the urban community. All of respondents visiting the Supporting Public Health Center of Gili Ketapang, Supporting Public Health Center of Wonotoro, and Public Health Center of Kebonsari. Abstract

Background: Patients with terminal renal failure require renal replacement therapy in the form of hemodialysis. Although already have hemodialysis therapy, there is still buildup of metabolic waste in patients’ body that results in a decrease in functional capacity. Decreased functional capacity in hemodialysis patients causes limitations in carrying out physical activities that reduces their quality of life. However, intradialysis physical exercise by using static bike can be a therapy to increase patients’ functional capacity. Objective: This study was aimed to determine the effectiveness of static bike exercise toward functional capacity in hemodialysis patients.Method: This research is a quantitative study with a quasi-experimental method using pre and post approach with control group design. Intervention and control groups were included in this study. There were 20 people in each group that were selected through consecutive sampling technique as samples of this study. The study was carried out in the hemodialysis room of RSUP Dr. M. Djamil, Padang.Result: The analysis was done using Paired T-Test with a degree of confidence of 95% and showed that intradialysis static bike exercise effectively increased the functional capacity in hemodialysis patients (p = 0.001).Conclusion: Intradialysis static bike exercise can be used as a nursing intervention to increase the functional capacity in hemodialysis patients. Key words: Hemodialysis, exercise, functional capacity.

At the age of 9 months the infant must get immunizations that can be given by subcutaneous which can give the baby pain experience. Objectives: The purpose of this study was to determine the effectiveness of parental holding therapy and music therapy to reduce pain scales in the infants during measles immunization. Methods: This type of research is quasy experiment with the pretest and posttest approach without control of the design group. The sampling technique in this study used a "purposive sampling" technique with a total sample of 24 respondents and research instruments using the FLACC scale observation sheet. The data were analyzed using computerization with an independent paired t-test with a confidence level of 95%, α < 0.05.Results: The results of this study indicate that the average reduction in pain scale before and after parental holding therapy is 4.2 while music therapy is 2.7. It was concluded that parental holding therapy more effectively to reducing the scale of pain in infants during measles immunization in Kubu Dalam Parak Karakah Village, Working Area of Public Health Center of Andalas, Padang City in 2019 with p-value = 0.017 (p <0.05).Conclusion: It is recommended that health workers be able to apply and find out the benefits and effects that are felt from parental holding therapies and music therapy so that parents do not feel afraid in giving therapy. Keywords: Measles Immunization, Music Therapy, Pain, Parental Holding Therapy

Abstract

Background: Prevention of pulmonary tuberculosis transmission behavior is also one of the keys to the increased incidence of pulmonary tuberculosis. Unhealthy behavior in patients with pulmonary tuberculosis can be caused due to lack of information about TB in the community so that they lack responsibility for the tuberculosis transmission. Objective: This study aimed to analyze the Prevention Behaviors of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Transmission Questionnaire (PBPTTQ) to see whether this questionnaire can be used to assess habits in preventing pulmonary tuberculosis transmission in the community. Methods: The design used in this study was cross-sectional design. This study was conducted in the Public Health Center of Medokan Ayu, Surabaya. The sample in this study were 30 people with positive smear pulmonary tuberculosis who are in the working area of Public Health Center of Medokan Ayu, Surabaya. This study used Prevention Behaviors of Pulmonary Tuberculosis Transmission Questionnaire (PBPTTQ).
