Politika: Jurnal Ilmu Politik (e-ISSN 2502-776X) (p-2086-7344) is a multi-disciplined journal focused on the study of political science, governance issues and public policy in and on Indonesia and Asia. The journal publishes theoretical and empirical research articles with an aim to promote and disseminate academic atmosphere in and on the region. The journal has areas of concern that includes political science, Indonesian politics, Asian politics, governance issues in Indonesia and Asia, public policy in Indonesia and Asia, decentralization, political parties and national and local election. The journal publication includes articles, research notes, notices on conferences, workshops and seminars, and book reviews. Politika is published on April and October every year.

<![CDATA[AbstractImproving people’s welfare is an important indicator for the leadership’s success of a regionalleader. With numbers of indicators, Pekalongan is one area that was considered successful under theleadership of dr. Bashir Ahmad from 2005-2010 and 2010-present. The success is determined byvarious factors both personal and environmental factors.This research was conducted to answer the problem of personality strenght aspect/politicalpersonality (microenvironment) and social environment aspect (macroenvironment)that support orreject the mayor’s political leadership, dr. Bashir ahmad. Using qualitative analysis as type ofresearch with in-depth interview and documentation study as data collecting technique.The result of this research shows that the successful leadership of dr.Bashir as mayor ofPekalongan in realizing people’s welfare with micro analysis is influenced by his personal’s characterwhich are visionary, hardworker, commited in vision and programs that has been established,unyielding, and dare taking risks. While in macro perspective, the success of bashir’s leadership isdetermined by his ability to establish patterns of good communication with parliament, NGO’s, andmass media so he can create conducive and productive climate. <![CDATA[Masalah Korupsi merupakan masalah yang sangan serius dan sangat sulit untuk diberantas, atas dasar pertimbangan tersebut maka KPK dibentuk untuk melakukan berbagai tindakan terhadapat setiap perkara korupsi yang berkaitan dengan masalah grand corruptions. Sebagai garda terdepan dalam memberantas korupsi, KPKdiberi kewenangan untuk melakukan penyelidikan, penyidikan dan penuntutan untuk menindak lanjuti setiap perkara korupsi yang dilaporkan ke KPK, sehingga korupsi yang terjadi di Indonesia dapat ditekan tingkat penyebarannya. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk menganalisis sehingga dapat mengetahui kinerja dari direktorat penyelidikan, penyidikan dan penuntutan KPK dalam mendak lanjuti setiap perkara korupsi. Dari hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kinerja dari direktorat penyelidikan, penyidikan dan penuntutan Komisi Pemberantasan Korupsi sudah optimal dilihat dari hasil tindak lanjut disetiap direktorat menunjukan penyelsaian perkara diatas 50%, namun dari hasil tindak lanjut yang dilakukan oleh setiap direktorat masi terdapat tunggakan perkara yang perlu ditindak lanjuti ditahun berikut, hal ini disebabkan oleh kurangnya sumber daya manusia, kompetensi dan sarana prasarana penunjang. ]]>

<![CDATA[Local culture is a priceless national asset. An effort of making the culture uniform by the New Order government in the past gives effect to the resilience and growth of the local culture in Indonesia. In fact, if we examine it carefully, the local culture contains norms and values that organize people’s lifes. One of them is as a resolution tool/media and conflict control. Pela is one of the local culture that is still a community tradition in Maluku. Pela is the kinship between civil community formed by bonding in terms of areal and descent. In the pela, it embodied norms, values, and resolution mechanisms and conflict control. This study intends to examine how values in the pela able to be the resolution tool/media and the conflict control in Maluku’s people. Also, this study examines the challenges faced in pela application and the efforts that have been made in order to revitalize the pela. In the research, this study uses exploratory method. The result shows that the pela plays an important role as a resolution mechanism and conflict control.]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract The existence of the elections on the one side it can have a positive effect that is actualized political rights that we have the right to choose and choosen from. But term limits two periods leadership post local autonomy implies limited opportunities for regional heads occupy a strategic position in the region. Consequently born the phenomenon of political dynasties in which the former head of the region trying to put people around him to continue his rule. As well as the phenomenon of political dynasties in Bantul, Idham leadership was replaced by Sri Suryawidati is none other than his wife. Victory Sri Suryawidati not be separated from the influence of political power 'Samawi' where he used the name 'Idha Samawi' as a political tool in order to win votes. He obtained a landslide victory, with 67.77 percent of the vote won. Society tends to choose Idha Samawi on the basis of psychological voting behavior, where they will choose the candidate who has the proximity to a party and feel close to the characters or a specific figure, in this case is 'Samawi'. But further, the existence of political dynasties can hinder the democratic process because it is basically the power is controlled by one person. <![CDATA[Usaha Kecil dan Menengah (UKM) di Indonesia memiliki potensi laten atau tersembunyi yang sangat besar untuk bisa dikembangkan lebih jauh lagi. Berkaca dari sejarah, UKM menjadi salah satu sektor yang mampu bertahan dari deraan krisis ekonomi 1998 yang pernah melanda Indonesia. Ketika banyak perusahaan besar gulung tikar, UKM justru semakin banyak bermunculan. UKM bisa ikut mendorong pertumbuhan potensi ini dengan menyediakan pembiayaan yang diperlukan. Selama ini pinjaman yang diberikan oleh Bank, misalnya, kepada UKM cukup besar. Para pelaku usaha juga tidak memiliki kredit macet yang besar perputaran uang bisa terus berjalan dengan baik. Metode penelitian yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif yakni data yang diperoleh dari hasil wawancara dan pengamatan. Sedangkan metode pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah wawancara, observasi dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian yang dilakukan terhadap UKM di Desa Pledokan Kecamatan Sumowono Kabupaten Semarang ini menunjukkan bahwa Pemerintah perlu meningkatkan perannya dalam memberdayakan UKM disamping mengembangkan kemitraan usaha yang saling menguntungkan antara pengusaha besar dengan pengusaha kecil, dan meningkatkan kualitas Sumber Daya Manusianya. Pengembangan terhadap sektor swasta merupakan suatu hal yang tidak diragukan lagi perlu untuk dilakukan. Pemerintah pada intinya memiliki kewajiban untuk turut melindungi UKM dengan memecahkan tiga hal masalah klasik yang kerap kali menerpa mereka, yakni akses pasar, modal, dan teknologi yang selama ini kerap menjadi pembicaraan di seminar atau konferensi. Perlu disadari, UKM berada dalam suatu lingkungan yang kompleks dan dinamis. Jadi, upaya mengembangkan UKM tidak banyak berarti bila tidak mempertimbangkan pembangunan (khususnya ekonomi) lebih luas. Konsep pembangunan yang dilaksanakan akan membentuk ‘aturan main’ bagi pelaku usaha (termasuk UKM) sehingga upaya pengembangan UKM tidak hanya bisa dilaksanakan secara parsial, melainkan harus terintegrasi dengan pembangunan ekonomi nasional dan dilaksanakan secara berkesinambungan. ]]>

<![CDATA[Abstract Political reform affects a lot of changes in the socio-political life of society, both in the political understanding and implementation. This study aims to understand how the understanding and implementation of democratic in Central Java at this time. The study used a descriptive approach to the analysis, and involves about 500 informants in Central Java. The conclusion of this study is that the substance of democracy and its implementation in the community is experiencing a change for a new form, where there is a clash of democratic values ​​which sided constructive and destructive. <![CDATA[ABSTRACT Post-reform era requires states to respect the freedom of individuals and groups to participate in politics. Regional head elections (Election) is a political process and who later led to the ruling on the legitimacy of the choice of the people who passed by the representatives of the people. General Election in essence aims to raise the political participation of citizens. Ironically, the political participation of citizens is often arise after mobilization undertaken by political forces through a pragmatic approach to transactional practice, so that the election be an excellent celebration of democracy that is very expensive. It is not unusual if the prospective candidate is supported by large parties, but a big problem if the prospective candidate is left of independent representatives. Swelling and financial expenses during the campaign process is definitely there, but if prospective candidates would have to form Personal branding and positioning it well then the problem will be slightly resolved. This research looks at how much the relationship between personal branding (X1) and Positioning (X2) on the behavior of voters (Y), especially for candidates who depart from an independent candidate in the Election of Bone Bolango in 2010. Note that the evaluation of Personal branding (X1) of 50.41% influence on voting behavior (Y). Furthermore Positioning (X2) gives the effect of 14.51% of the voting behavior (Y). To find out how big the contribution made by each independent variable on the dependent variable is used multiple regression. Their conclusion that there is a positive correlation between personal branding and positioning together to conduct voter registration for 0707. While the coefficient of determination (R2) obtained for 0.49 (49%) which means that the dependent variable voting behavior can be explained by the independent variables (personal branding and positioning) by 49%. <![CDATA[In order to improve the performance of Central Java Parliament, social media has been used as a tool that is easy, inexpensive, and could reach all segments throughout the region of Central Java. This study aimed to evaluate the use of social media in the implementation of the functions of legislators to communicate with the public. This research is a qualitative research with case study method. Capturing data through in-depth interviews to Central Java Parliament members who are active in social media and the public in their networks. The results of the study consisted of three things. First, social media is used by members of the Central Java Parliament for three reasons: (1) communicate the functions of the parliament (legislative, control, and budget); (2) communicate with the public in order to listen public needs and get feedback; (3) a means of self entertainment by using social media as a tool to express their selves and share personal information. Second, related to the function of the parliament which has been communicated through social media, the control function is the most frequent performed. While the legislative function performed moderately, and the budget function as the most rarely communicated. Third, public informants in social media networks of Central Java parliament members perceives the them as representatives of the people who actually work for the people.
