Abstract

In higher education, effectively delivering complex topics to students with diverse learning preferences remains a pressing challenge. This comprehensive survey delves into the utilization of mind maps as an innovative instructional tool to navigate this challenge. From 2003 to 2022, we review the implementation of mind maps in higher education, highlighting aspects such as the year of the paper, the techniques employed for mind mapping, target audiences, objectives, and outcomes. Mind maps, centralized and radial visual techniques, have been recognized for their capacity to enhance memory retention, comprehension, and active student engagement. We identify two primary scenarios: Learner-Driven and Lecturer-Driven Development. While students employ mind maps for revision and understanding, lecturers utilize them as visual aids to structure content and elucidate intricate relationships. The paper underscores the need for inclusivity, accommodating varied learning styles, and integrating mind maps into a broader educational toolkit. Through this study, we uncover research gaps and propose future avenues to further amplify the potential of mind maps in academia.

Abstract

The issue of image forgery through splicing has become increasingly relevant in the current digital era. Splicing involves the manipulation of images by combining parts of two or more different images to create a deceptive composite image. This technique can be employed for various purposes, including the dissemination of false information, damaging someone's reputation, or even creating confusion in specific contexts. Several techniques used to detect splicing involve statistical analysis, color analysis, and texture analysis. Additionally, artificial intelligence developments, such as deep learning, have been applied to enhance detection capabilities. In this study, we employed a Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) model to identify image deviations caused by splicing. Optimization was performed on the convolutional layers of the model to improve CNN performance. The integration of Error Level Analysis (ELA) was also implemented to aid in identifying splicing forgeries, where portions of one image are combined with parts of another. Areas that have undergone splicing may exhibit noticeable differences in error levels. The dataset utilized for this research was sourced from DVMM and CUISDE. The validation accuracy results for our CNN model before incorporating ELA were 61% for DVMM and 74% for CUISDE. After adding ELA, the CNN model demonstrated improved detection accuracy, achieving validation rates of 72% for DVMM and 71% for CUISDE.

Abstract

IT governance is the responsibility of the board of directors and executive management of a company that ensures the company information technology supports and expands the company strategy and objectives. But IT governance that does not support departments can have a negative or detrimental impact on the department. For this reason, it is necessary to take measurements to see the level of IT governance that is currently being implemented. The Facility Management Department is a department of PT Permata Graha Nusantara which is engaged in building management services that wants to see whether the ongoing IT system provides support to operational activities and provides better services to customers. To measure the capability of IT governance, the COBIT 5.0 framework is used as a reference in this study. Domain selection is done according to COBIT 5.0 standard and on the selection of the department 5 domains are tested, namely APO05 Manage Portfolios, APO10 Manage Suppliers, APO11 Manage Quality, BAI04 Manage Availability and Capacity, and DSS03 Manage Problems. Each domain chosen to have different aims and objectives and measured using standards set by the COBIT 5.0 framework. The measurement results are Capability Level which has levels from level 0 to 5. The target expected by the Facility Management department is level 4, but the results obtained are not in line with expectations and get level 3 in each domain tested, so this department must make improvements based on recommendations made based on the COBIT 5.0 framework.

Abstract

Information technology (IT) management is a process that a corporation or organization must carry out, particularly in terms of data management. The research employs a case study of a pipe manufacturer that has implemented a human resources system to manage employee information. To avoid problems in the data management process that can impede company performance, the company must have good information technology governance capabilities in the data management process. This research will focus on measuring and evaluating the capability of information technology governance at the company, as well as making recommendations to improve the company's existing IT governance. The COBIT 2019 framework will be used to assess the company's IT governance capabilities using qualitative data collected from collaborative interviews with the company and supported by previous research literature. The measurement focus will be on IT infrastructure for data management and operations management to support the data management process. APO01 - Managed I&T Management Framework, APO14 - Managed Data, and DSS01 - Managed Operations are the COBIT 2019 processes to be monitored. The study's findings include the realization of IT governance capabilities in the APO01 domain and a lack of IT governance capabilities in the other two domains, namely APO14 and DSS01. The capability level is stopped at level 2 for the APO14 and DSS01 domains, which is one level below the declared aim of level 3. The recommendations will center on enhancing the IT governance skills of the two domains that fail to meet the company's capability targets.

Abstract

Abstract—Stakeholders are parties affected by a project, with both positive and negative impacts. In a project, the expectations of these stakeholders must be managed properly, and a project manager plays an important role in satisfying and balancing the interests that exist between them. The stakeholder analysis process needs to be carried out in detail. It must also be supported by the right tools so that it can reveal new insights that may have been hidden behind the stakeholder data. In this research, two techniques are proposed to increase the acuity of two tools that are often used in the stakeholder analysis process, namely the salience diagram and the power grid diagram. Improvements were made by using vectorization techniques for salience diagrams and applying Gartner's magic quadrant method to power grid diagrams. Both improvements can show more clearly the position of stakeholders in the categorization formed according to the two tools. Of course, this will further assist the project team in determining the right strategy for each stakeholder so that all elements support the project’s success.
