Abstract

This research evaluation is a part of activities development management is to know how the activities development works.  Evaluation could be good or bad is depended on the inputs of the monitoring systems. This research is analysed by indicator descriptions.  The conclusion shows that Purbalingga’s PDRB in 2003 increase about 1.3%.  In other side, the gaps among sectors are low enough.  It means each sector works better and relatively will be spread evenly.  That’s why the policy of budget allocation is better to lead to have interrelatedness (backward and forward) for all sectors. Keywords: monitoring systems, Indicator description, budget allocation.

Abstract

Main purpose of this research is to evaluate and test variables that influencing regional economic growth in Maluku Province year 2004-2009 by using dynamic panel data method. Factors that influencing regional economic growth in Province of Maluku are private investment; government investment; infrastructure and labor. Result of this research indicating that panel of co-integration test with approach of parametric of group rho-statistic is 4,79 while group pp-statistic has a coefficient co-integration -12.18 whereas coefficient of co-integration by using group adf-statistic is -3.19. Probability of each examination indicating that variable with application of co-integration significant at level 1 percent only panel v-statistic at level 5 percents from seven panel model, got result that any variable of research co-integrated, in short term and long term has a positive direction to regional economic growth, meaning that if the independent variables increasing dependent variable will follow in same direction of movement. Keywords: regional economic growth, investment, panel dynamics

Abstract

The aim of this research are to study the backward and forward linkages of foodstuff plant sector towards another economic sector and to study how condition of supply and demand of commodity of foodstuff plant sector in West Java, 2003. The research method is descriptive one by using the data of Input Output (IO) Table of West Java, 2003, with 86 sectors in classification. The linkage analysis divides into the backward and forward linkages. The results of the research are foodstuff plant sector in West Java, 2003: (a) has backward linkage lower than forward one by looking at total value of backward linkage and also forward one; (b) has relation with 23 economic sectors in backward and 21 economic sectors in forward; and (c) can not cover all demand commodity of corn, sweet potatoes, soybean, and other foodstuff plant commodities. This results mean that to increase product of foodstuff plant especially commodity of corn, sweet potatoes, and soybean, it can do by increasing economic activities in forward, for examples food industry sector, restaurant sector, cultivation industry sector, etc. Keywords : backward linkage, forward linkage, input output analysis

Abstract

Differences in the level of economic progress between regions will lead to imbalances which make the difference between regions that can have an adverse influence (backwash effects) dominating the beneficial influence (spread effects) on regional growth. One indicator that is quite representative to measure the level of development inequality between regions is the Williamson index. Inequality in the former Kedu residency continues to increase in each year and further widens the gap between the regions. In this study, the variables of private investment, labor force, and Special Allocation Fund (DAK) are used in 6 districts/cities of the former Kedu residency of Central Java Province in 2007-2016. By using regression analysis method or panel, the results showed: 1) private investment has no effect on economic development inequality, 2) work force has a positive effect on development inequality, and 3) DAK has no effect on imbalance of economic development in the districts/cities of the former Kedu residency in Central Java Province in 2007-2016.Keyword: Regional Inequality, Private Investment, DAK, Labor Force, Williamson Index.

Abstract

This research pressures to export demand of opec crude oil. It concern primarily on the impact of price oil shock toward OPEC crude oil export. Ordinary Least Square (OLS) is not proven accurately to analyze volatile phenomenon of OPEC export demand of crude oil. Otherwise, General Autoregressive Conditional Heteroskedastic (GARH) and specifically Exponential GARCH give practical and logical model to be applied. It shows that structural break occur in price oil variable and then impact to volatile of crude oil export. Several important world events create structural break and this “bad news” has significant impact to instability of oil price. This result gives also that nominal crude oil price adjusted for exchange rates and demand export of Non-OPEC crude oil have negative impact, and OPEC proven crude oil reserve and Exports of refined products by OPEC have positive impact to OPEC crude oil export. Keywords: crude oil price, structural break, export demand, GARCH and EGARCH,

Abstract

This research is aimed to study the influence of the number of productive age workforce, economic growth, and the number of small-medium business toward unemployment in Banyumas Regency. This research uses quantitative method by using the secondary data. The analysis methods of this research are Multiple Linier Regression and Elasticity of Coefficient Linier Regression. The result of research shows that each of independent variables, partially, influences the dependent variable (the number of unemployment) in Banyumas Regency. The number of productive age has a positive influence, so that an increasing of the number of productive age workforce will increase the number of unemployment. While, either the economic growth or the number of small-medium business has the negative influence so that each of those variables will decrease the number of unemployment.  Keywords: productive age workforce, economic growth, small-medium business, unemployment

Abstract

The purposes of this study are to analyze the effect of labor, land, seed, fertilizer, and capital on the production of cassava; to analyze the economic efficiency and technical efficiency in cassava farming between farmer groups in Banyumas and Purbalingga; and to analyze the difference of economic and technical efficiencies of cassava farming in Banyumas and Purbalingga. This research is conducted with qualitative and quantitative analysis based on production function with a stochastic frontier approach (Stochastic Frontier Production Function): regression analysis, maximum likelihood (MLE), the analysis of technical efficiency(DEA), economic efficiency, price efficiency, and Return-Cost (R/C) ratio. The result shows there are only three significant independent variables namely labor, land, and capital. Based on analysis of technical efficiency (ET), there are only ten efficient farmers in Banyumas and four efficient farmers in Purbalingga. The results from the efficiency of the price and economic efficiency show that the farming of cassava has no efficient in both of farmer groups in Banyumas and Purbalingga. From the calculation of technical efficiency, price efficiency, and economic efficiency, it can be concluded that cassava farming has no efficient. The results from R/C ratio indicate that cassava farming in both of them are quite profitable. Keyword:  economic efficiency, efficiency price, return-cost ratio, stochastic frontier, technical efficiency
