Abstract

The use of narratives as a means of promoting character education is an academic effort to address the current decline in general character among younger generations. However, previous research on the use of stories in character education has not been comprehensively reviewed. This study was a qualitative library research, following the principles of source selection, evaluation, and synthesis proposed by George (2008) which aimed (1) to explore forms of narratives used to teach character values, (2) to investigate methods to teach character values, and (3) to explore the character values in narratives. This study selected 36 articles from previous studies published between 2015 and 2024. The subject of this research were articles sourced from indexed journals listed in Scopus, Science and Technology Index (SINTA) 3, and Web of Science (WoS). The results of the study showed that forms of narratives used to teach character values in relation to character education were mainly in the forms of animation movies, fables, fairy tales, folklore, comics, narrative texts, and stories, which were delivered through storytelling, story reading, and movie watching. The narratives used as the media to teach character education were proven to contain character values such as religious value, honesty, tolerance, discipline, hard work, creativity, independence, democracy, intelligence and curiosity, nationalism, patriotism, appreciation, friendliness, love of peace, reading interest, environmental awareness, social awareness, and responsibility. This implies that the use of various forms of narrative from an early age can support the formation of children's character and the importance of utilizing various stories in character education pedagogy and curriculum.

Abstract

Children’s behavior is fundamentally influenced by the family environment. However, family conflict, such as arguments between parents or between parents and children, can shape aggressive behavior patterns that carry over into the school environment. This study aims to analyze the relationship between family conflict and bullying behavior among secondary school students. The study employed a quantitative approach with a correlational design involving 370 students as the sample. Data were collected through a closed-ended questionnaire developed based on indicators of family conflict and bullying behavior variables. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics to describe the level of each variable and the Pearson Product Moment correlation test to examine the relationship between variables. The results showed that both family conflict and bullying behavior were in the moderate category. The correlation test revealed a strong and significant positive relationship between family conflict and bullying behavior. The findings also indicate that the higher the level of family conflict, the greater the tendency for students to engage in bullying, particularly in non-physical forms such as intimidation and social exclusion. This study concludes that the family environment plays a crucial role in shaping students’ social behavior, with implications for the need for collaboration between schools and parents to foster harmonious communication and develop strategies to prevent aggressive behavior.

Abstract

Learning in Early Childhood Education is still dominated by the use of conventional learning media that are structured and teacher-centered, resulting in limited opportunities for children to explore and develop their creativity. This condition affects children’s low ability to express ideas, use imagination, and produce independent and original works. This study aims to examine the effect of using loose parts media made from recycled materials on enhancing early childhood creativity. This research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pretest–posttest model. The participants were early childhood children in Group B who were involved in the learning process during the current academic year. Data were collected through observation using a creativity assessment sheet based on indicators of fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration. The data were analyzed using prerequisite tests, namely normality and homogeneity tests, followed by a t-test with the assistance of statistical software. The results of the study indicate an improvement in children’s creativity after being treated with the use of loose parts media from recycled materials. These findings suggest that the media is effective in providing broader opportunities for children to explore, create, and produce independent works. In addition, the use of this media also provides educational value in fostering environmental awareness and encouraging the habit of creatively utilizing waste materials from an early age. The implication of this study highlights the importance of innovative learning media in early childhood education that are more flexible, contextual, and exploration-based to optimally support children’s creative development.

Abstract

Teachers’ growth mindset shows variation that is not yet optimal, where some teachers do not fully believe that abilities can be developed through effort, experience, and continuous learning, resulting in a tendency toward a fixed mindset among certain individuals. This condition is assumed to be influenced by both internal and external factors, one of which is family parenting style experienced during childhood. This study aims to analyze and compare teachers’ perceptions of their growth mindset based on the parenting style they experienced from their parents. This research uses a descriptive quantitative approach with 48 teachers selected through a total sampling technique. Data were collected using a closed-ended questionnaire that had been tested for validity and reliability, and then analyzed using descriptive statistics. The results indicate that teachers’ growth mindset is predominantly in the moderate to high category, with a small proportion in the strong and fixed mindset categories. In terms of parenting style, most respondents were raised under an authoritative parenting style, while a small number experienced permissive parenting, and no authoritarian parenting was found. The comparison results show that authoritative parenting is associated with a more positive growth mindset. Overall, this study concludes that authoritative parenting plays an important role in fostering teachers’ growth mindset through balanced support and guidance. The implication of this study is that the development of growth mindset should consider family factors as well as supportive educational environments that encourage reflection, resilience, and lifelong learning.

Abstract

The low effectiveness of economic management is caused by the less-than-optimal impact of policies and the organizational environment. The urgency of this research arises because the role of MSMEs is very vital in the global economy, vital in absorbing and reducing poverty amid the global crisis, but their business continuity still faces internal obstacles. The purpose of this study is to analyse the influence of leadership and the organizational environment on the success of MSME management. The sample consisted of 371 MSME owners, selected by total sampling. Data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and documentation, then analysed using logistic regression with the help of SPSS version 29.0. The results showed that leadership had a significant effect on the success of MSMEs (B = 0.830; t = 9.834; p = 0.046) and the organizational environment was also significant (B = 0.806; t = 3.992; p = 0.001). Simultaneously, the two variables explained 73.7% (adjusted R² = 0.737) of the variation in the success of MSME management with an F value of 71.064; p < 0.001. The findings of this study confirm that effective and environmentally friendly leadership in organizations supports the health and well-being of businesses nationally and globally. The study's conclusions indicate that enhancing leadership capacity and a collaborative organizational culture are key to success in the social economy of society. The implications of this study emphasize the importance of leadership training and strengthening a work culture, including community participation.

Abstract

The low effectiveness of working hours in the national manufacturing industry is due to leadership styles that are not yet adaptive to the dynamics of industrial change. The urgency of this research arises because the manufacturing sector is the backbone of the Indonesian economy, contributing 18.98% of national GDP in 2024, but still faces challenges in employee productivity and retention. The purpose of this study is to analyse the influence of transformational, transactional, and situational leadership styles on the effectiveness of working hours. The study sample consisted of 300 managers and production team members in the textile, automotive, and electronics sectors. Data were collected through a five-point Likert scale questionnaire and analysed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM). The results show that transformational leadership has a significant effect on productivity (β = 0.42; p = 0.001), motivation (β = 0.39; p = 0.002), and collaboration (β = 0.35; p = 0.004), but has a negative impact on retention (β = -0.21; p = 0.015). Transactional and situational leadership also had a positive effect on productivity (β=0.28 and β=0.33). The findings indicate that the combination of adaptive leadership styles increases overall team effectiveness (Adjusted R²=0.82). The study's conclusions emphasize the importance of a balance between inspiration, reward systems, and adaptive equity. The study's implications recommend transformational leadership training and participatory reward systems to improve employee performance and retention in the Indonesian manufacturing sector.

Abstract

Elementary school teachers face various challenges in implementing the Merdeka Mengajar Platform (PMM) program, such as limited access to technology, insufficient technical training, and differences in adaptive abilities. These conditions require resilience so that teachers can adapt, remain productive, and support the success of the program. This study aims to describe the level of resilience of elementary school teachers in facing the PMM program in terms of age and work experience. The study employed a descriptive quantitative approach involving 33 elementary school teachers. The research instrument was a resilience questionnaire based on the seven dimensions proposed by Reivich and Shatté. The data were analyzed to identify trends in teachers’ resilience levels across different age groups and lengths of service. The results indicate that teachers demonstrate a high level of resilience, reflecting their adaptability, perseverance, and readiness to face PMM-based curriculum changes. Differences in resilience levels across age groups and work experience are not statistically significant; however, a pattern emerges showing that professional maturity and digital readiness contribute to variations in teachers’ adaptive capacities. These findings confirm that resilience is a key factor in the successful implementation of PMM and needs to be strengthened through continuous training, institutional support, and the development of technology-based professional competencies. This study implies that strengthening teacher resilience should be carried out systematically through continuous training programs, enhancement of digital literacy, and institutional support to ensure that the implementation of PMM can be more optimal and sustainable.

Abstract

The rapid development of modernization and globalization has influenced adolescents’ social behavior, including the decline of collective values such as mutual cooperation and social responsibility. Traditional cultural practices can serve as an important medium for strengthening these values among younger generations. This study aims to analyze the role of ngelawar culture in shaping mutual cooperation behavior among adolescents from social, cultural, and religious perspectives. This research employed a qualitative approach using literature review and semi-structured interviews. The participants involved traditional leaders, religious leaders, parents, adolescents, and academics who understand the implementation of ngelawar traditions. Data were collected through document analysis and interviews and were analyzed using thematic analysis. The findings reveal that ngelawar functions as a medium for transmitting values of togetherness, solidarity, collective responsibility, and cultural identity across generations. Adolescents’ involvement in ngelawar not only develops practical skills but also strengthens spiritual awareness through participation in traditional and religious ceremonies. In addition, ngelawar reinforces social cohesion by creating intergenerational interaction within the community. The study concludes that ngelawar has strategic potential as a medium for character education, cultural preservation, and strengthening youth identity in the era of globalization.
