Abstract

This study aims to examine the influence of work flexibility on the performance of State Civil Apparatus (ASN) at the DKI Jakarta Provincial Education Office, focusing on four dimensions: time flexibility, timing flexibility, place flexibility, and cognitive flexibility. The study used a quantitative approach through a non-experimental survey of 111 respondents who were randomly selected from a population of 153 ASN. Data were collected through the Likert questionnaire and analyzed using simple linear regression. The results showed that work flexibility had a positive and significant effect on employee performance, with a regression coefficient value of 1.044 and an R² value of 0.673, which means that 67.3% of performance variations can be explained by work flexibility. Among the four indicators, timing flexibility contributed the most (27.2%) to performance improvement. The majority of employees are in the category of flexibility and moderate performance, which shows the potential for performance improvement if flexibility is increased to a high level. Based on these findings, it is suggested that the DKI Jakarta Education Office develop a results-based flexible work policy through a flexi-time system, a hybrid work environment, and time management and cognitive training. This approach is expected to form a more adaptive organization, encourage the retention of young employees, and improve the quality of an innovative and public service-oriented education bureaucracy.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the increasing phenomenon of moral decadence among adolescents, a result of the influence of modernization and digitalization, which causes a decline in the values of empathy, responsibility, and self-control. The purpose of this study is to analyze adolescents' digital behavior, understand its impact on moral development, and formulate effective character education strategies within the high school context. This research uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design. The research subjects consisted of teachers and students who were selected purposively based on the intensity of gadget use and involvement in digital activities. Data was collected through in-depth interviews, participatory observations, and documentation, then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive model. The results of the study show that excessive digital behavior lowers moral sensitivity and triggers the emergence of moral disengagement mechanisms. However, reflective literacy activities, collaborative learning, and religious arts can help re-cultivate ethical awareness and positive character. This study highlights the importance of integrating digital moral literacy and teacher role models to enhance the moral integrity of adolescents in the digital era.

Abstract

The development of Artificial Intelligence (AI), especially AI Chatbots, has brought significant changes in the learning paradigm by presenting adaptive, personal, and contextual learning interactions. This study aims to examine the relationship between the use of AI Chatbots in Javanese language learning and its relationship to critical thinking skills and self-efficacy of high school students. This study uses a quantitative approach with a correlational design. The research sample amounted to 462 students of SMA Negeri 9 Semarang who were selected using stratified random sampling techniques. Data were collected through an online questionnaire and analyzed using descriptive statistics and Pearson correlation tests. The results of the study show that AI Chatbots have been known and used quite widely by students in learning Javanese, although the utilization rate is still moderate. The correlation results showed a positive relationship between the use of AI Chatbots and students' critical thinking skills (r = 0.572; p < 0.01) and student self-efficacy (r = 0.542; p < 0.01). This means that the more intense the use of AI Chatbots, the higher the level of critical thinking and self-confidence of students in the learning process. Thus, the use of AI Chatbots in Javanese language learning contributes positively to improving students' critical thinking skills and self-efficacy, so teachers and schools need to implement it in a planned manner through systematic AI literacy learning strategies and training so that its use is optimal, meaningful, and responsible.

Abstract

Reading difficulties are a primary characteristic of children with dyslexia, marked by challenges in word recognition, letter–sound correspondence, and text comprehension despite having adequate intellectual abilities. These difficulties are often exacerbated by the use of instructional materials that do not align with their learning characteristics. This study aims to analyze the characteristics of effective instructional materials to support reading instruction for children with dyslexia. The study employed a qualitative approach with a phenomenological design involving two experienced teachers who have taught reading to children with specific learning difficulties. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews and analyzed using thematic analysis techniques. The findings identified four main characteristics of effective instructional materials: (1) dyslexia-friendly design with clear and simple visual presentation; (2) reinforcement of phonological skills and vocabulary through explicit activities; (3) the use of adaptive media and learning resources that accommodate diverse learning styles; and (4) the implementation of a multisensory approach in reading instruction. The study concludes that inclusive, structured, and multisensory-based instructional materials play a crucial role in improving access to and the quality of early literacy for children with dyslexia. The implications of this study highlight the need for teachers and instructional material developers to design adaptive and multisensory-based learning materials to enhance the effectiveness of reading instruction in inclusive educational settings.
