Abstract

The high prevalence of postoperative pain among Cesarean Section (CS) patients directly affects recovery, early mobilization, and maternal comfort after delivery. This condition highlights the need to develop effective, safe, and affordable non-pharmacological interventions as complementary alternatives to analgesic therapy. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of warm compress therapy in reducing post-CS pain levels and to explore patients’ subjective experiences of the intervention. A mixed-method approach was employed using a Randomized Controlled Trial (RCT) design involving 200 respondents divided into experimental and control groups. Quantitative data were collected using the Visual Analogue Scale (VAS), while qualitative data were obtained through in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed using t-tests, Wilcoxon tests, and Chi-Square tests with statistical software, alongside thematic analysis for qualitative findings. The results indicate that warm compress therapy significantly reduced pain intensity and was 2.19 times more effective in decreasing pain compared to the control group. Qualitative findings revealed four main themes: pain complaints, coping strategies, perceptions of warmth, and the benefits of warm compress therapy. In conclusion, warm compress therapy is proven to be an effective non-pharmacological intervention for managing post-CS pain. The practical implications suggest that warm compress therapy can be integrated into standard postoperative care protocols and utilized as evidence-based teaching material in nursing education to strengthen students’ clinical competencies in non-pharmacological pain management.

Abstract

The global water crisis demands education that fosters early water awareness, particularly through the role of elementary school teachers. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of a local water sustainability project in enhancing water awareness among prospective elementary school teachers. A quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design with a mixed-methods approach was employed. Forty-two students participated in a series of contextual projects integrating knowledge, attitudes, and behaviors related to local water issues. An open-ended questionnaire was used as the research instrument. Quantitative analysis using a paired-sample t-test revealed significant improvements in knowledge (ΔM = 8.05), attitude (ΔM = 8.26), and behavior (ΔM = 8.83), with p < 0.001. Qualitative findings supported these results, showing a shift from basic understanding to more comprehensive knowledge, from passive attitudes to active commitment, and from inaction to real involvement in water conservation. The study concludes that implementing a local water sustainability project effectively enhances water awareness among future elementary school teachers. Overall, this model fosters comprehensive water awareness and supports the implementation of sustainable education at the elementary level.

Abstract

Sexual violence persists as a significant and pervasive challenge within higher education, necessitating urgent, systemic, and evidence-based interventions. This study evaluates the effectiveness of digital- based education for the prevention and management of sexual violence in Indonesian universities. Employing a mixed-methods approach, the research integrates quantitative surveys from 735 respondents, Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM), and qualitative thematic analysis of stakeholder interviews to examine institutional performance across three key dimensions: policy dissemination, value promotion, and training. The findings demonstrate that digital policy dissemination exerts a significant influence on perceived institutional effectiveness, while value promotion and training, although positively received, do not show statistical significance in shaping these perceptions. Thematic analysis underscores the critical roles of inclusive communication, accountable leadership, contextually relevant training, and victim-centered response mechanisms. The study concludes that digital education can be transformative when implemented through participatory, culturally sensitive, and structurally embedded practices. The novelty of this research lies in its empirical validation of a digital preventive framework adapted to the socio-cultural realities of Indonesian higher education, thereby contributing unique insights from the Global South to global discourses on campus safety and offering guidance for the development of equity-driven, survivor- responsive digital interventions within academic institutions.

Abstract

The rapid digital transformation in higher education requires students to have advanced digital skills, ethical awareness, and effective communication. However, many studies overlook the diversity within student populations, particularly in terms of digital readiness. This research addresses this gap by examining students' digital construction variations through the use of K-Means clustering. The study adopts a mixed-methods approach, combining a survey on technology usage, attitudes, and communication with qualitative interviews. The analysis identifies two distinct student clusters: "Basic Learners," who demonstrate lower digital readiness, and "Digital Pioneers," who exhibit advanced digital skills. The validity of these clusters is confirmed through the Silhouette Score and ANOVA (p < 0.05), which reveal significant differences in digital readiness. The findings suggest that students with lower academic achievement perform better with moderately challenging digital tasks when provided with additional resources. In contrast, older students face more complex digital challenges. This highlights the need for higher education institutions to develop more inclusive, tailored strategies that address the diverse digital needs of students.

Abstract

Students’ mathematical competence in geometry remains low, as reflected in unsatisfactory PISA results and exam scores below the minimum standard. This issue is exacerbated by teacher-centered instruction and limited use of concrete media to develop spatial skills at the concrete operational stage. This study aims to analyze the profile and utilization of students’ and teachers’ spatial abilities in solving geometry problems. The study involved 9 students and 3 teachers, with data collected through interviews, tests, observations, and Focus Group Discussions (FGDs). The research employed a qualitative approach to explain phenomena in depth through non-numerical data, including verbal responses, visual representations, and observational findings. The results indicate that students’ spatial ability profiles generally fall within the “fair” or “moderate” category. Students with high mathematical ability demonstrated stronger mastery, particularly in aspects of spatial visualization and mental rotation. However, the main challenges faced by students include difficulties in constructing three-dimensional shapes and accurately determining geometric measurements. Overall, spatial ability requires focused attention and more targeted instructional strategies to be effectively enhanced. To address these challenges, teachers are strongly encouraged to implement scaffolded, practical, and interactive learning strategies by utilizing concrete media and technological tools such as GeoGebra. Such approaches are expected to bridge the gap between abstract geometric concepts and students’ concrete understanding, in alignment with the stages of thinking development proposed by Van Hiele’s theory.

Abstract

Learning IPAS, particularly history content in Phase C at the elementary school level, is still predominantly characterized by conventional, teacher-centered approaches with limited use of interactive media, resulting in suboptimal student engagement and learning experiences. At the same time, the development of game-based learning media often faces technical complexity and resource constraints. This study aims to develop and analyze the validity and practicality of an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-assisted visual novel history game as a learning medium for Phase C IPAS instruction. This research employed an Educational Design Research (EDR) approach using the Plomp & Nieveen model, which consists of three stages: preliminary research, prototype development, and assessment. The research subjects involved subject-matter experts, media experts, language experts, teachers, and elementary school students. Data were collected through interviews, observations, validation questionnaires, and practicality questionnaires. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive quantitative and qualitative techniques. The results indicate that the developed media demonstrates a very high level of validity based on evaluations by instructional, technical, and language experts, as well as a very good level of practicality based on responses from teachers and students. These findings suggest that the AI-assisted visual novel history game is feasible for use as an IPAS learning medium and has the potential to enhance student engagement, motivation, and meaningful interactive learning experiences. This study implies that integrating AI into the development of educational game media can serve as an innovative solution for improving IPAS instruction in elementary schools.
